So, if you recommend starting with altcoin mining, do I use the same hardware for bitcoins?

So, recently I have been very interested in bitcoin, I've done tons of research on what they are, how they work and how to mine them. Recently, I decided it would be fun to start mining them, but despite all the research I have done, I have found nothing on what hardware is recommended to start mining with. So, what would you recommend I start mining with? I don't want anything crazy just yet, just something that will produce enough bitcoin to get me another/upgrade but not take forever. Also, I would appreciate if you would tell me the income per day, but if you don't know it I am perfectly capable of doing it myself.
