Like any business and any bubble of course there are some altcoins that will survive and others that will fail. Personally I focus on two kinds of investments. Altcoins that have obvious short term utility and altcoins that are so groundbreaking that their technology will remain useful.

|
|
How it it clearly not a security? Without a utility, isn't the only reason to purchase an altcoin to do so with the expectation that you'll be able to trade it for a profit (thereby failing the Howey Test)?
I don't think so. The ones that concern me legally are the ones offering profit shares or investment returns (which is a lot of them). This is clearly a novelty and if people chose to trade it afterwards then they can. I think the major exchanges would list this if it sold enough because they're not claiming their tokens represent anything other than the novelty of the token itself. Regardless maybe 'parody' is a utility and cause in of itself!

Jesus Christ (pun intended) look at the Etherscan on it, people are actually buying it.... See this is what I hate about the ICO market right now. This coin has no tech advantage, it's clearly a stupid joke, and yet.... it's actually going to be one of the few altcoin's that will be tradable (it's clearly not a security) and loads of idiots are probably going to end up buying it. So I end up in an even stupider situation of having to buy this dumb ass coin incase it explodes because of of all the other idiots buying it. Oh well, good bye Ether ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

I'm in, this project looks promising. I've packed my bag and store my $XRB on a cold wallet. See you in one year! ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Maybe two years! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) A long-term holding is a wise choice for XRB. maybe five years! lol ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Boom might happen sooner than you think. There is crypto bubble, a lot of money flowing in, also people made a lot of money. Eveyone is crypto-treasure-hunting, and XRB is special.

It's a funny market now. Mercatox is full of sellers, presumably from poorer countries, who have collected XRB doing captcha and are happy to sell at every 50 sat increase. They treat it as some extra income and don't realise that the best thing to do now is to accumulate.

Is this the only exchange available? I've never even heard of it.. can someone like Yobit or Bittrex or Poloniex add XRB already? No, For now you can only trade on Mercatox exchange https://mercatox.com/exchangeIt is possible, because the debs are busy with it. edit: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.arcongraphics.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2017%2F04%2FSchermafbeelding-2017-04-10-om-14.17.59.png&t=663&c=tc7UlDaaUrrSaA) Any news about Bittrex listing?

Can anyone help me compile the wallet in Ubuntu? I'm running Linux Mint 17 64bit 2.2.16. The precompiled wallet won't run - i get "illegal instruction" error. Thanks!

We can see the target adjustment from block to block on previous wallet but most of us do not really understand how the difficulty work. There were long blocks and short-spaced blocks that are sometimes quite annoying. It happens when a huge hash is thrown when difficulty is low then leave when difficulty goes high leaving the network to find the next blocks in a very long time. Hope this difficulty re-targeting adjust the target accordingly to the hash thrown making it less susceptible to large hash abuse. Great work to the devs. This for sure took a long time to test and finalize. I can confidently say PascalLite is in good hands. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Well said, the development has been robust so far. Funny thing is PASL is still valued at $50k cap now, when other coins with not much value have been pumped to a few mil. The only things missing here so far are: whitepaper, long-term road map, bigger exchange and marketing. But I'm sure they will come, solid development is the pillar.

For everyone wondering about why we are performing a hard-fork,
The hardfork is an essential upgrade to stabilize the daily supply and to prevent long block times
Does it mean that the inflation will decrease? If so, by how much exactly?

"Pascal lite is to pascal as expanse is to eth"
Not the case here. Whereas EXP is wholly ectypal to ETH, PASL is a few steps in front of PASC. Account trading site is one example, PASL github has many more commits than PASC. Also, as I inderstood from Slack, something which will make acquiring accounts easier is in the works. I'm sure much more will come.
PASL is simply better and more creative than PASC.

Funny situation on Cryptopia - 1 BTC market buy takes PASL to 40k, that is 300% growth ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) EDIT: At 18.46241498 BTC we are number 1 volume on Cryptopia!

I think Bittrex addition would be great. Polo has Pascal, Bittrex could have Pascal Lite, makes sense ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Wasting my time tried 3 different bat files to mine on suprnova and get rejects also not showing my hash rate on suprnova odd thing is mining pasc on suprnova works ok
Show your bat file echo off cd c:\claymore\8.0 setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0 setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 EthDcrMiner64.exe -dcri 13,13,13 -epool eth-eu.dwarfpool.com:8008 -ewal wallet/vinc2 -epsw x -dpool stratum+tcp://pasl.suprnova.cc:4316 -dwal workername.password -dpsw x -allpools 1 You're missing -dcoin pasc there - or am I blind ? nope was me that was blind working now many thanks i just gotta sort a wallet now pain not being able to mine direct to exchange You can mine directly to Cryptopia's wallet - I think they've resolved the issues with depositing funds. I've also tried to get an info about an bittrex listing but I guess they don't have an API interface for this cointype. if bittrex will list us dev can create a api interface for them. if cryptopia can do it, bittrex is even bigger Really? if they are interested to add us im sure we can assist in anything they need. Bittrex is the rocket fuel needed to launch us in the spotlight. Would be great, I think Bittrex would be able to add PASC also to thanks to PASL devs' help, so - an overall win-win.

The following scenario of the first spike: PASC goes to $10 mil cap & PASL reaches $2 mil cap, seems possible.
