1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Threatens to Quit Bitcoin Development and Join Hearn's Fork on: May 30, 2015, 08:48:08 AM
This is rather interesting. This news almost makes it seem that the confidence of the bitcoin currency is tied to a software developer when this digital currency is touted to be independent of any central authority.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Technical bitcoin news source on: May 30, 2015, 08:28:29 AM
I would like to know the best websites for news regarding bitcoin. I regularly view Coindesk however I've noticed that it covers matters in a rather non-technical way. Are there any news sites or blogs that describe current bitcoin news in more technical terms?
3  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Does this exist? on: May 30, 2015, 08:24:54 AM
I'm struggling to see what the advantage of an automated process is as opposed to converting the fiat currency yourself? You could perform this conversion yourself without inducing any extra processing fees and also control the exchange rate on your own terms.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is just to complicated for the average person to use.. on: May 28, 2015, 03:39:10 PM
There really is no historical precedent for digital currencies. For that reason it'll take a long time to digest.

This is one thing that was surely not envisioned for Bitcoin when it was developed.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Gang of Five: The Dirty Centralization Secret of Bitcoin on: May 20, 2015, 02:57:46 PM

$2,500 for a Walther PPK/S .380 calibre pistol and a silencer! The guy didn't know how to shop, you can get a decent gun for way less.

The sale was made in Australia which virtually has a complete gun ban. It takes 6 months of a sport shooting club membership to be eligible to purchase a handgun that will be strictly used for sport shooting.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "North Carolina Bitcoin Legislation Receives Opposition" via BTC.com on: May 17, 2015, 03:51:47 PM
What's new? An industry leader colludes with government to legislate increased barriers of entry. And this is all to protect the consumer?
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dark Net Weapons Bust Leads To 17 Arrests and a $80,000 Bitcoin Seizure on: May 17, 2015, 03:49:05 PM
It seems that adding "Bitcoin" to the title of an article makes it all the more exciting and dangerous.

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Extremists Target Bank of China on: May 17, 2015, 09:14:04 AM
This is hilarious. I can't believe the author spun Satoshi's absence as a threat to the stability of Bitcoin.

20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Difference between physical meetups and online exchanges on: May 15, 2015, 07:06:50 AM
Can you guys explain to me a standard "protocol" for a physical meetup. As in, do you pay in cash? Do you offer the cash first and then undergo the Bitcoin transaction? Basically how do you actually go about the exchange?
