2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is it letting the bank know that you are a BTC Investor? on: February 18, 2024, 11:00:31 PM
Question please: Was it wrong of me letting her know that I am a BTC investor?

I think the answer to this question will vary depending on your country of residence because although some countries follow very strict policies for cryptocurrencies, we also know that some countries aren't following very strict policies for cryptocurrencies. Of course, in today's conditions I think it wouldn't be right to inform banks about our cryptocurrency investments regardless of the country reside in because due to their centralized structure they can control and block our bank accounts as they wish.

In past, 25.000 GBP was transferred to my student account in accordance with a money transfer that was supposed to be made at my workplace and my account was immediately blocked by the bank. Moreover, the transaction description also contained information about why the transfer was made. In other words, it wouldn't be unusual for a financial institution that can block accounts even for such a simple and clear transaction to find out that you are using your bank account specifically to invest in cryptocurrencies and arbitrarily block your account.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: While placing bet what comes your mind on: February 18, 2024, 07:33:03 PM
This is a common sports betting scene. I understand the appeal of bigger profits vs losses. A strategic dance, right? Evaluating the logic of betting more for larger gains is sensible, but loss is always possible. Many have disappointed themselves due of optimism.

With games of chance like slots, your strategy seems conservative. Its smart considering such games' unpredictability. I like a balanced approach: knowing when to take chances and when to pull back. My experience has taught me not to let excitement outweigh financial risks. Remember that the long-term influence on your finances is as important as the immediate gain.

You are right, this is literally a strategic dance and it is a situation that can be encountered frequently, especially in betting slips with a high probability of winning. Of course, considering that there is always the possibility of losing, there is a tedious dilemma of increasing the bet amount. Especially depending on the result, thoughts such as "I wish I had bet with a higher amount" or "I'm glad I didn't change my bet amount to more" occur. Especially in sports betting, although the outcome seems guarantee, we shouldn't think completely optimistically because even a bet with a low odds of 1.01 will always have the possibility of losing.

In games that are completely luck-oriented, there is no other option than relying solely on feelings and making changes in the bet amount accordingly but I still think that the possibility of feelings being wrong is quite high and it shouldn't be forgotten that these games are completely luck-based.
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: February 18, 2024, 02:55:26 PM
Now my question is futures trade is actually gambling? Or how did he lose all his dollars?

Trading and gambling aren't the same thing but using high leverage in futures can turn trading into a gambling. For example, using 100x leverage results in twice the profit or liquidity on a 1% price movement depending on the position. In other words, although it isn't exactly the same, there will be a risk similar to high-low dice games and it will be possible to make money completely depending on luck (of course, the correct direction of movement can be determined with technical analysis but financial markets can also move contrary to expectations). On the other hand, using leverage between 2x and 5x is a very good advantage especially for individuals with low capital and it isn't a gamble because the slightest movements in prices don't cause these positions to become liquid or gain several times in a few seconds.

In summary, I can say that futures transactions aren't gambling if the correct leverage is used and technical analysis of the traded financial product is made but trading a financial product with randomly and high leverage without technical analysis is gambling.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: February 18, 2024, 10:10:28 AM
I came across a recent topic where the op was saying over 80% of gamblers gamble to make money and I had to have a dip thought on that and was curious as to know if there are possibilities that people gamble just for the sake of answering the name gambler?
Nearly eighty percentage of the gamblers are doing gambling for the money making.
From my opinion, I think there isn’t any need to stake or risk one’s money on a game simply because you want to catch fun when you could simply not risk your money and still have fun while watching same game.
I don’t know if I’m really staying my points well but I wish to know if people really have to gamble without intentions of making money?

Certainly, the main goal of many people who gamble is always to make money because although gambling is something that depends entirely on luck it also allows you to earn money quite easily. Of course, the situation I'm talking about here is only valid if the luck factor is also a strong factor.

As someone who gambles for fun, I would like to say that I always have a goal of making money when I gamble but unlike gambling addicts if I lose the entire budget I set, I don't continue gambling by adding more. So, although the main purpose is to have fun by spending time playing gambling games, there is naturally an expectation of making money as there is always a possibility of winning. On the other hand, I would like to point out that if I need 100 units of money when I have 10 units of money, I have never had a goal of multiplying it in gambling and having 100 units of money from it. So, although the main goal is never to make money it can be quite normal to think about possible earning possibilities and have expectations.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: February 18, 2024, 06:34:47 AM
Balance in between spending money and and entertainment. We do know that everything should really be having that balance because everything which is excessive is never been good.
If you do gamble then of course that sense of responsibility and control would really be that relevant because if you do miss out this thing then dont get shocked that one day you would really
be having those gambling problems. People who do mess up with gambling are to those people who are really that been able to missed up on controlling themselves.
You wont really be having any problems if you are really just that mindful with your gambling activity. Those wont really be an issue if you are really just that having  that good control.

Certainly, maintaining balance is very important in every aspect of our lives but especially when we gamble for fun, the balance between the money we spend and the dose of fun needs to be balanced very well. Generally, when we examine people who cannot achieve this balance, we can see that as a result of this imbalance a bad habit such as gambling addiction occurs and this addiction causes serious negative effects on the person's life. Therefore, in order not to regret in the future, the balance must be maintained very sensitively and not disturbed. I believe that the most important factor in achieving this balance is the person's self-control because achieving a delicate balance in gambling can be achieved by controlling one's emotions and greed well.
7  Local / Ekonomi / Re: Yolsuzluk Algı Endeksi on: February 17, 2024, 11:55:36 PM
8  Local / Ekonomi / Re: Tarladan satışa aradaki fark %404 karşınızda Portakal on: February 17, 2024, 09:52:43 PM

9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop loss ? on: February 17, 2024, 04:29:35 PM
how do you use a stoploss

Although the use of the stop loss feature is different between platforms, it is used in a similar way on many platforms. In order for us to be able to help you, I think it would be better to specify which platform you would like to use this feature on. To give very brief information about the stop loss feature in general;

A stop loss order is an order sent to the broker to sell a security when its price reaches a predetermined level. It is often associated with long positions. An investor in a long position has invested in a security and holds it. If the price drops to a certain level, stop loss will be activated and the position will be closed by selling the relevant security.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another question? Tell me your average amount per bet and your monthly income? on: February 17, 2024, 02:08:30 PM
I don't want to give any information about my net monthly earnings but the amount I spend on gambling on a monthly basis usually corresponds to 2-3% of my net salary and I take care not to exceed this rate. Of course, in some cases this rate can go up to 5% to 10% but this is something that happens very rarely and when this happens the balance is achieved again because my other expenses during the these months are low. As someone who has previously experienced gambling addiction and then successfully recovered from this addiction I can easily state that I don't want to encounter this situation again and for this reason I have been very careful about my gambling expenses in the last few years.

On the other hand, if I have expenses equal to or more than my salary in any month, I should definitely state that I don't gamble or that I gamble at a maximum of 1% of my salary. So, I can easily say that depending on my monthly expenses, I spend between 1% and 3% on gambling and very rarely this percentage can go up to 5% to 10% as an upper limit but I never exceed this rate.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: While placing bet what comes your mind on: February 17, 2024, 12:00:57 PM
However, have you had this feeling while gambling before be it offline casino and online casinos?

I would like to give more general information about both feelings I experience;

First of all, when I gamble especially in sports betting, like every gambler I think and evaluate how logical it would be to increase the bet amount considering the profit I will get if I win. In this way, I dream of other expenses that I can make by earning more money in case of a possible gain. Of course, on the other side I think about what impact this loss will have on me if I lose the bet or what I can do with the amount I intend to use for this bet. This prevents me from placing lower bets on bet slips that have a low probability of winning.

Finally, I would like to finish my message by adding that I generally don't focus on winnings in slots and similar games of chance and I rarely increase my bet amount if I feel like a free spin is coming. So, in general the thoughts and feelings I mentioned only occur in gambling types with a certain profit rate. In games of chance, which are completely based on luck and I don't know how much profit I will get, I almost never increase the bet amount by thinking optimistically.
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why are people getting scared to Trade on: February 17, 2024, 09:15:06 AM
Lately, I have noticed in most crypto groups I'm in,  many crypto enthusiasts are increasingly participating in airdrops and crypto events organized by exchanges or project developers to earn USDT or tokens. Is it because these "people" are afraid to trade or they do not believe they can make money from trading? Don't get me wrong, I understand that this can also generate passive income, but what I'm curious about is whether these activities truly yield significant profits or not.

I think that the reason why many people are afraid of trading today is the bad experiences they had in the past and the bad experiences they heard from the people around them because many people especially in the cryptocurrency markets, traded unconsciously during the bull period. The fact that they engage in this market during the bull period and trade unconsciously, their dreams of becoming a millionaire in a very short time don't come true and the people around them lose a lot of money in the cryptocurrency markets cause individuals to be afraid of trading. Especially in periods when the market is very active, there are many individuals who lose money by using high leverage and have bad memories in trading which triggers these individuals' fear of trading today. Naturally, considering today's conditions many people don't want to trade and lose their current savings in trading.

To summarize briefly, it wouldn't be wrong to say that many people today don't want to risk their savings and are afraid to trade due to the bad experiences they had in the past and the people around them losing money by trading unconsciously. Of course, when this is the case, many people prefer to pursue airdrops and similar campaigns to earn money without using capital.
13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can we understand market going to be Bear? on: February 17, 2024, 06:41:15 AM
How do we know if the market will go bearish?

It isn't possible to instantly understand that not only the cryptocurrency markets but all financial markets have entered a bear cycle but you can understand whether that market is in a bear cycle by examining the situation of any financial market in the last few months. For example, when you examine the data and prices of the last six and twelve months, if there is a constant downward trend and this is valid for the entire financial market it is possible to understand that that market is in a bear cycle.

As I mentioned, it isn't possible to understand the bear cycle within a market at the very beginning of this cycle because bear and bull cycle changes don't occur within a day or a few hours. For example, during a bullish period, a sharp downward movement can be followed by a correction and the upward trend can be continued. Therefore, every sharp decline during the bull period shouldn't be considered as a sign of the bear cycle. For this reason, the most logical thing to do to understand whether a market is in a bull or bear cycle is to examine at least six months of data and price movements.

Remember, it is never necessary and unlikely to sell a financial asset at the top and buy at the bottom. For this reason, I recommend that you examine price movements over a wide period of time and trade without chasing the bottom or top point, in order not to become a prey of big investors while hunting for a cycle change.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causes loss on: February 16, 2024, 11:13:19 PM
He said that he had nearly 64k dollars as a loss in the gambling site.In order to recover that 64k dollars,he keeps on betting from all his economic resources.I had advice him to use only 20 percentage of salary to get away from entire gambling loss. But he is now repeating the same 100 percentage of income from weekly, biweekly and monthly. So he was in the big loan problem.Still he is arranging funds from loan to play gambling, because he think that the recovery was possible at the place where he lost his money. What will be your suggestion for my friend to recover from the gambling addiction.

As I have stated many times in my previous comments, the importance of the amount lost in gambling depends entirely on the financial situation of the person. That is, if 64.000 USD is an amount that doesn't cause financial difficulties for a person if he/she loses in gambling, it will not be a serious problem for that person. However, considering the situation you mentioned, this amount is quite high for this person and his ambition to earn this amount he lost by gambling more actually means that he is addicted to gambling. In addition, the fact that a person loses all his income in gambling and goes through a difficult financial process due to these losses is a sufficient reason to state that he is addicted to gambling and that he is affected by this addiction and loses all his money.

In order to get rid of gambling addiction, this person must first realize that the money he lost in gambling and that this situation negatively affects his life and with this awareness he must take a long break from gambling or even quit gambling completely. However, considering the current situation, I think that this person cannot overcome this gambling addiction with only advice and his own will so it would definitely be very beneficial for him to try to get rid of this addiction with the help of a psychologist.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most challenges faced by gamblers on online casino platforms? on: February 16, 2024, 07:30:32 PM
I have witnessed the delay on deposit at some of the casinos that I have made use of in the past, and this delay on deposit I can link to as a result of the payment option that I used to make my deposit.

Especially in cryptocurrency-based online casino services, I have almost never experienced delayed deposits or withdrawals depending on the preferred payment method. Although both the withdrawal and deposit processes take some time when Bitcoin is used as the payment method. In general, when I choose options such as Solana, Litecoin, Tron or Dogecoin, I witness that my transactions are completed almost instantly. In addition, choosing reputable and reliable online casinos is an important criterion to avoid such problems because receiving late payments or deposits from some unreliable online casino services doesn't actually mean that all of them work this way. In other words, it shouldn't be forgotten that the preferred online casino service and payment method are also very important factors in this waiting period. A delay or disruption in payment transactions depending on preferences doesn't mean that all online casino services provide service in this way.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: February 16, 2024, 02:24:27 PM
Gambling once in a while is not wrong, but doing so every day while not wrong by itself can lead a person to bet way more money than what they can afford and put their economic stability at risk, and I do not see any reason to do this, when there are many other activities a person can explore and that will give them a lot of joy as well, however once a person begins to become obsessed with something, to convince them they are wrong is a very difficult task.

Certainly, it isn't wrong to gamble very rarely or regularly on a daily basis but it is wrong for a person to lose control over gambling and constantly consume money in gambling because in this case the person will become a gambling addict and spend all his/her money in gambling games. Although persistence in gambling doesn't pose a problem if the person manages his/her capital control well and doesn't spend all his/her money gambling like an addict, it becomes a serious problem if it causes the person to become addicted to gambling in the future and cause him/her to lose all his/her money in gambling. Otherwise, I don't think there would be any harm in a person gambling a few dollars a day on a regular basis, assuming they don't suffer financially.
17  Local / Ekonomi / Re: Banknot Problemi on: February 16, 2024, 12:07:37 PM

Smiley
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: February 16, 2024, 09:48:14 AM
I get your point. And I think gambling is enjoyable! But its about balance, right? Like you said, twice-a-month managed gambling isnt bad. Vigilance on the "gradual escalation" is crucial.

Gambling should match one's lifestyle and budget, not stretch it. You do it for fun, not stress, like watching a movie or eating out. Breaks might provide new perspectives. Autonomy and knowing when to stop are key.

Gambling is about fun, not profit. Fun and boundaries sustain it. To keep it positive, I recommend viewing it as part of a wider range of leisure activities.

Certainly, gambling is a enjoyable but it is very important to maintain balance in gambling because even if this balance is slightly disturbed, it can have serious negative effects. It is true that I said that gambling twice every month isn't a bad thing because even if a person with good budget management loses money gambling twice every month, this will not have a serious negative impact. It is absolutely a very important detail to ensure that gambling remains "fun" for an individual and that this balance is maintained so that the individual doesn't gamble in a stressful or depressive state. A person should act knowing very well when to stop and after what point gambling can turn into a nightmare instead of fun.

Of course, gambling should never be a method in which we think we can make money and it should only have meaning for us as a method of fun because there is never a guarantee of winning in gambling and it is also an activity in which we can lose all the money due to its high risk. In other words, it is a very important detail to just enjoy gambling without expecting regular income.
19  Local / Ekonomi / Re: 500 Dolar on: February 16, 2024, 07:09:55 AM

20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading is perfect work for jobless peoples on: February 16, 2024, 01:18:59 AM
Yeah, trading can be profitable, and if done correctly, then you can expect a great reward or profit, but the catch is that "if you do it correctly,"  trading is not easy and will never be easy. It has been said numerous times, and I have also said it in many topics, but solely relying on trading without any stable job can be a bad move or could result in the worst scenario.

You see, you can lose your funds or investments in trading, so imagine you don't have a stable job or are jobless, but in trading, do you have the guarantee that you will always earn from your trades? Even experts with long years of experience sometimes lose trades because there will always be a margin of error in every trade. So I recommend or not recommend, and I will mandate that you get a job first before you engage in trading; if not, then it's up to you what you will do in difficult situations.

Definitely, trading will be a profitable and easy job if done correctly because trading has never been an easy thing. Although trading seems to be the simplest form of buying a financial product at a low price and making a profit by selling it at a high price after its appreciation, the real aspect of the trading is much different. Constantly following price movements and news, analyzing possible price movements with the changes of indicators, making up-to-date technical analysis on the current chart and ensuring correct capital management are actually the biggest and most important bumps on this seemingly simple road.

It is a very difficult process especially for an unemployed person who doesn't earn a regular income to earn money by trading and continue his/her life in good conditions because it isn't possible to earn money always and instantly in trading. In addition, the constant outflow of money from the capital of a trader who doesn't have a regular income for living expenses will prevent that person from earning high profits due to the constant decrease in his/her balance. In short, since an unemployed person who doesn't have a regular income constantly loses in trading and consumes money from his/her capital to meet his/her living expenses will generally cause the entire balance to be depleted, it causes us to remember the fact that individuals who don't have a regular income are less likely to be successful in business.
