another thing I haven't been clear on, what party is hosting the files?

An online wallet which is connected to the network does the file transfer, correct?  The miner doesn't consume bandwidth related to the files in the block chain right?  If so is it appropriate to only reward the miner with the coin?  Shouldn't the wallet user who transferred and hosted the storage also catch a piece, if not arguably a large portion of the block reward?

How is this coin coming along?  I have been CPU mining this for a month and built up a few dozen with the hopes publishing something inside.  How does one go about performing this transaction?  Are there any applications built on top yet?

I bought a 12 issue subscription a few days ago.  Looking forward to receiving the first issue!

sweet, thank you so much.  I already see it as unconfirmed with one transaction.

Exciting!

I have heard them talked about in both my political and technical circles for about a year.

The more I read, the more I like.

The technical protocol is genius, but establishment of new currency is difficult work even with the establishment is behind it.

I want to be along for the ride in a small way.

I have an auction up on BitMit that I would like to get some more attention for.

It is an experiment in obtaining my first BitCoin, using the BitMit platform and esablishing my reputation in the BitCoin market place.

For the thirty dollar card (which I bought two weeks ago at my local walmart) the auction is starting at 3 BTC.  You can "buy it now" for 7 BTC.  It is a no loose if you play the game (i do not).

I will mail you the card and ask that you release the escrow after receipt and confirmation that the code works.

Thank-you,

I would like to participate in the forums.  I have been in deep research mode for a few weeks now.

I just sent a 12 issue subscription off to BitCoin Magazine.  I have been attempting (with out success so far) sales at BitMit for a few weeks.  http://bitmit.net/en/trade/i/796-world-of-warcraft-60-day-pre-paid-subscription-card/seller_info

Thank-you.

I agree, the new user sync can take a long time.

I just installed my first client.  It took about 18 hours to download the complete transaction history.  I am using the current Mac client and am on a usually very fast cable modem.  The client made 8 connections.
