1  Economy / Services / I do Graphic Design [for BTC!] on: February 12, 2012, 12:22:35 AM
Hi there,

In "real life" I'm a Graphic Designer.  I figured I'd extend those services onto this board, too. In my recent quest to acquire bitcoins, I realized the best way to get my hands on some would probably be to work for them.

I do MOSTLY print design - things like logos, stationery, business cards, flyers, brochures, post cards, etc - with a lil web design thrown in for good measure. (By no means do I consider myself a coder, though...strictly a designer.)

Though I don't usually work on spec (as in "I design this, and if you like it you pay me") but since I'm new to here, I plan on working that way for a while. I do the design, send over low rez previews, and once you're happy I get paid and you get your full resolution files. Send an email to joest@tormail.net with a basic summary of your project and I'll get a quote back to you ASAP!

Thanks for reading!

Hi,

I'm currently working as a Graphic Designer and I'd like to offer my services in exchange for BTC in the marketplace. I do a wide range of design, mostly print related. (Logos, Business Cards + Stationery, Flyers, Posters, Brochures, Ads, Booklets, etc.)

I'd like to be whitelisted so I could properly advertise these services. (If not, another three hours PROBABLY won't kill me...but who knows?!  Tongue )

Cheers!

Hey guys,

I do graphic design (logos, business cards + stationery, brochures, ads, booklets, flyers, basic packaging, web design, etc.) and I recently got "into" bitcoins. I'd like to offer these services for BTC.

Now I'm not usually a proponent of spec work, but since I'm new on here I'm willing to work without a down payment. (On most 'real life' jobs I do I require 25% of the quote upfront.)

Also, once I'm whitelisted (it's 5 posts + 4 hours, right?) I'm assuming I should also advertise in the marketplace?

Either way, send me a PM on here (or email me at joest@tormail.net) and I can get a quote to you ASAP.

To avoid sounding like a spammer, I figure I'll ask a question  Wink

I plan on selling a few things in the marketplace once I gain some positive light in the forum, but I also plan on selling design services - since I'm, well...a Graphic Designer. Anyone think there's a market for that here?

Now I'm new to the whole bitcoin world, so forgive me of I'm wrong, but isn't the number of coins that come from a mined block set to half itself sometime in 2012? This would probably mean a lot of the lower-end miners dropping out (since it wouldn't be valuable to them anymore), leaving less competition which would equal, at least in a small way, higher exchange rates?

I don't know about you, but if I had a stash of bitcoins I'd keep them. Markets of all sorts, not just bitcoins, tend to fluctuate a bit.

New to the world of bitcoins, but as others mentioned, I'm not so sure I'd trust a bitcoin "bank" of sorts. If I deposit money into my Bank of America account (for example), there are 1) laws that protect me from them running away with my money, and 2) Insurance, like the FDIC $250,000, that most governments have in place to help protect people that use these banks.

There are neither of those on the internet. You could have the most reputable member, but if they decided they wanted to pack up shop and take off with a boat load of bitcoins, since hey, temptation get's the best of us, then there's nothing that's really stopping them.

Hey guys (and gals),

I remember hearing about bitcoins a while ago, and I never really gave it much thought. I read an article the other day that got me interested in getting started in bitcoins, so here I am. I have a few things I'd like to put up for sale, along with design services (Did I mention I'm a Graphic Designer?)...once these newbie limits are lifted. Seems like a nice community, so I'm glad to be aboard!
