1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: May 19, 2015, 12:16:02 AM
How does Monero fare in the blocksize debate that's currently going on with Bitcoin? Is a 1mb cap going to be an issue?

No, Monero has no block size limit and a fee that scales with the transaction, so issues like block size and attacking the network with dust are irrelevant.  This is one of the core reasons why I have realized Monero truly is "Bitcoin 2".

Sweet, I didn't know that was even possible.

Well yea it was my first post and what better place than a cryptography/bitcoin forum! I'm nerdyish, pretty attractive and whatnot but just chatting with someone about "nerdy" stuff like coding would be cool as well. Smiley

Can anybody explain the status of Dash?
Is Dash anonymous or not...
Somebody said to me, that masternodes cant be anonymous.

The anonymity of coins tx is guaranteed. Masternode IP is a complete different subject. They are known, yes, but that is of no compromise to the security of the network. Even still, IP obfuscation is on the development roadmap.

Take note that IP obfuscation will lead to a much more centralized masternode structure and this could no longer be halfheartedly called a decentralized crypto(Masternodes are already centralizing, just not nearly as much as when IP Obfuscation takes place). Evan said this himself on darkcointalk. You'll be trading somewhat decentralization for anonymity.

Running a masternode on a Raspberry Pi 2 @home is decentralized

Not the point. The vast majority of masternodes are hosted on Amazon servers and obviously by default is centralizing. Not to mention the reason people use the cloud is because of ease of use, they don't want to have to actually buy hardware such as a Raspberry pi to host a node(Hence why the vast majority of masternodes are hosted on Amazon).
