1  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: August 19, 2015, 05:07:35 PM
Save money first and then invest it! That's my mantra. Cut down on frivilous expenses like eating out all the time and cut down on partying one week a month. This will ensure that you save a bit of money. Once the saving is in place, then it is time to invest. Diversify investments across all asset classes: Crypto, Bank FD's, Collectibles, Shares, Mutual Funds, ETF's, Gold, Silver... well you get the drift. Never put all your investment eggs in one basket, especially not one as volatile as bitcoin is, if you want to live a healthy life! Cheesy. Good luck!

Completely agree with your answer
But according to me and many other people investing in bitcoin for a longer period of time may yield a good result .

This is one real stupid of a discussion
Thinking the same thing from days ago !!
59 pages that's really a great discussion over this topic .
Yes, I was also thinking about that.
But after so many posts finally I give up am have to post on this topic.
Basically, the OP would also have created a poll then it would have been convenient to find out easily.
Yeah a poll would have done the job quickly than reading all the posts and making a judgment.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: August 15, 2015, 04:12:36 AM
It is better to invest, the current saving interest rates aren't enough to cover inflation.

good idea Smiley
i like to invest my money for future , like buy a GOLD/SILVER, also im holding some Bitcoin for future
If you want to invest in something good
That would be property/ land
Investing in it would return a good deal .

secondstrade.com is really good Smiley
secondstrade might be good but
the one thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't give startup bonus or things like free rolls.

WTB jr.member account asap
amount = 0.004 btc

I have one, I'll sell it for 0.015 . PM me if interested.
bro 0.015 is too high for a jr.member account.
I could pay some more and get a member account instead.
anyways. , thank you for the offer.

Op why not make one?
you can make a few in a month.

if your into that thing,
yeah I know that .
but the thing is I don't have that much time .
instead of waiting for a month I can buy a jr.member account
make some posts and regain the amount I spended.

Hi there,

I have updated the OP to clarify.

Please note, bitcoinmeetups.org is not buying services, we are helping service providers to promote their services!
okay so. you are helping seevices . that's good.
but that doesn't clarify if you or someone is gonna pay us or not.
its okay if you don't pay us. but the clarification should be mentioned whether its just ofr promotion. or the btc mentioned is payable by you to us.
11  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: WTB jr.member account asap on: June 28, 2015, 06:28:06 AM
That is too low, you need to spend at least 3 to 4 hours to reach junior member.
I can increase the amount
just say me your price and then we will bargain
is anybody willing to sell me their account ?

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Didn't Satoshi Think About Instant Confirmations? on: June 27, 2015, 12:58:27 PM

That would require changing the fundamental code of Bitcoin and implementation via a hard fork, which is not worth it. If it ain't broke don't fix it. If you don't like 6 confirmations use blockchain.info for your wallet.

I have thought of that before but people do say that online wallet is quite risky.
so I don't prefer using it.
15  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cost of Bitcointalk Accounts. on: June 27, 2015, 12:53:37 PM
I have this jr.member account with me (extra one)ehich I am thinking of selling .
I need 0.01 btc
do you think I can sell it for this amount?

member usually are sold for 0.05, so junior should be woth 0.01 at least while newbie is around 0.005 or less

you can try, but it also depend on the quality of your post
Newbies don't worth 0.005 and members don't worth 0.05 either. Newbies of 14 activity worth nothing, while those of 28 activity may worth 2-3mBTC. Members could worth 0.02-0.04 BTC, depending on their rank. Also Jr. Members could go for as cheap as 0.0044 (ref: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=992029.0), and is even cheaper than that of the price of newbies that you stated.

well i said it depend on the quality and the activity does matter but it isn't everything, i see newbies with +10 in trust, i'm sure that an account like that is worth more then 0.005

there is a guide to follow, but i like to give around 100k satoshi per activity, as a base price

well in that case I would like to know how to gain trist till that amount .
and something about that green trust.
will the price of the account really goes up if it has a high trust ?
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Didn't Satoshi Think About Instant Confirmations? on: June 27, 2015, 09:41:33 AM
Think of confirmations as security.

If you deposited a personal check from a total stranger 1/2 way around the world how long would you wait for it to clear ??

Checks can be returned sometimes several days or even weeks later ... the longer the time that goes by the more security you have.

Credit cards can be reversed instantly so there is no security there.

Compared to traditional systems bitcoin is actually very fast.

Also the 6 confirnation rule is / was chosen as a 'safe number...

There are academic papers published that show waiting more confirmatikns than six is safer and less is more risky.
well said ! the example was good too !
but I am wondering why it takes so much of time to have the 6 confirmations ?
couldn't it be faster than now ?
17  Economy / Gambling / Re: what is your favorite gambling place? on: June 27, 2015, 09:34:07 AM
I have heard that coinroll is a good site at gambling
is it really good or luckybit is better than this
I guess I should have a poll now . lol .
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: June 27, 2015, 09:29:25 AM
are you sure its not a ponzi ?
if its a scam then you may be in trouble since it may take away all of your earnings.
there are alot of scam sites on the internet which has scammed many people and took away theor earnings.

I guess you are right coz I have seen. jr.member as high as 0.005
never seen a jr.member account more than that
I guess I should wait till it turns to a member account and then try selling it.
