1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SLR] SolarCoin | PoW to PoS v. 2.0 | Solar Proof of Generation (§1 = 1MWh) on: November 21, 2017, 06:39:25 PM
Hi I have been a supporter of SLR for awhile but I haven't updated my wallet for a few years.  I don't hold much but would like to make it readily available as I like what Lykke is doing.  I have the private key can anyone help on what the next step is to get the latest version wallet set up and import the old private key?

Thanks!

2.1.6 is now live.  can get it by looking for updates in the wallet. or going to:

www.solarcoin.org
I upgraded, all working fine Smiley

Features in 2.1.6

This release adds File menu options to import/export private keys; UI improvements to the History and Claims tabs; RPC improvements to the commands makekeypair and getinfo; A new RPC command, getstakinginfo; Transaction fee reduction to 0.0001 SLR; and some bug fixes. This is a mandatory update, as the blockchain will fork at height 1440000.

the change to a .0001 SLR is to support our future IOT initiatives.

Grant coin is just nonesense coin. What is all this crap this guy is on about ?
Basic incomes ? What !? Also he just ignored my previous post and there is still not much going on here. The Dev ran away ?

Sorry for the non response, the team has been focusing our energy on other aspects of the project.  The concept for basic income has been around for a while, there are many resources to look into on the web, Grantcoin is applying the blockchain technology to actually implementing it.  You'll notice in your research a lot of the constraints on why a government can't implement a basic income is taxation and the inefficiencies of how money is moved, this is where a NGO is valuable so no one government has the burden to fund basic income.  And of course the blockchain eliminates the efficiency of moving money directly to the basic income participants.   I hope we didn't frustrate you in our delayed response.  If you have any more questions please feel free to contact us directly.

Thanks!

Do the developers want others to help, or take over some of the project?

Yes, please email me at brandon@grantcoin.org to discuss where you would like to help.  Thanks for the offer!

very cool stuff

Question...now that ripple trade is shutting down, how is that going to affect Grantcoin?... if at all.
[/quote]

Hi Chey,

Thanks for your comment, we are excited for the next stages of Grantcoin, more things are brewing with an exciting 2016 to look forward too Smiley

Anyway, very good question about Ripple Trade shutting down.  Our team was surprised with the recent news of Ripple Trade shutting down but after discussion with our contact at Ripple labs it seemed inevitable, the ripple consumer interface is a tier below Ripple Labs to allow more focus on banks.  We are already in discussion with GateHub and should migrate our wallets soon if all goes as planned.  We will let you know as things progress but we are hopeful the GRT.Grantcoin asset will continue being exchangeable on the ripple protocol.

Cheers,

Brandon

I hope you make some bounty , maybe translate or everything for promotion GRT for future

Hey Lazada,

We certainly are looking to provide bounties for individuals willing to translate the announcements and most importantly all our documents on grantcoin.org.  We have potential resources for Spanish and Portuguese, are you willing to help provide any support for the languages you know?  If so, please contact us at mail@grantcoin.org.

Thanks,

Brandon

Hey Dimox,

Thanks for sharing this, its unfortunate that the average daily volume isn't meeting .2 BTC for bittrex but it was anticipated with GRT only being 2 months old.  We fortunately have friendly traders to get the minimum .2 BTC volume a day running at losses.

Thanks again for your support!

Yeah, no worries everyone, we won't let the coin get delisted. There are enough people who care about this coin's future and will either buy more or trade among ourselves to make sure that there's enough volume, during this very early stage when the coin is still only a couple months old. Smiley

I want to thank everyone's trading volume this past week, it looks like Bittrex is keeping GRT listed.  We'll have to keep an eye on it while its still early but with the projects that are going to be announced in the near future hopefully more people will see that this is not just your ordinary altcoin Smiley

Thanks again for all your support to help make Grantcoin a reality!

I am very much looking for a long term investment and trust me I dont like crypto pump and dumps any more than the next guy, but to be honest, I am unsatisfied with those answers. I  have really liked the dev team so far, but to not have a true end goal value is a little half baked imo. It is naive to believe that GRT will at all replace fiats and as such, GRT should have a fiat value or it is useless. Not to mention by its nature, if a crypto did replace fiats, it would not be GRT to do it, it would more likely be a gov’t affiliated crypto or a crypto without a humanitarian agenda. A true trade currency. The objective should be to work with the fiat of those in need, not try and reconstruct the monetary system. To help both the investors and those in need, there should be an optimal equivalence to a fiat. I would expect something like a dollar parity.

I'm glad to hear your looking for a long term investment in the crypto space.  Also we appreciate hearing that you are satisfied with the GRT dev team, we are thankful for them and the passion they have for this project.

I understand your frustrated perspective being an investor to get an answer to the long term goal conversion to fiat but I honestly have no idea how anyone would come up with that value.  I'm assuming you are an XRP investor with the dialogue we've had on XRPtalk, do you know what the value of XRP will be by the end of the year, 5 years?  Or any other crypto?  I sure don't and when I asked our resources at Ripple Labs they say the same thing, "who knows"... Ripple Labs doesn't even know how they are going to distribute the remaining 70 billion XRP with the unknowns that are present in crypto.  GRT has a well defined plan of how the currency will be distributed and the markets being targeted, if you do the math of the revenue loops that are tied to those markets a conversion can be made.

But honestly my personal end goals are when I can feed my family with GRT, when my family in Venezuela can transact for groceries with GRT instead of dealing in diapers because the fiat Bolivares is in hyper inflation.

I enjoy hearing your perspective on these forums, we would be honored to have a more intimate conversation via email if you would like; mail@grantcoin.org.

so should we trade between ourselves to get the volume?

The volume has been up passed .2 BTC the past couple days but if you would like to add some trading volume it would be appreciated.

Thanks for the support!

So going off of your statement that no more coins will be released unless the value increased greatly...what does increase greatly mean? What is the optimal value that you guys believe GRT should reach and stabilize at?

Hey National,

In what terms do you ask by optimal "value"?  My assumption is your asking the GRT conversion back to USD...  With that assumption, my opinion is that no one can predict where any of these digital currencies will be 10 - 15 years in relation to fiat.  I personally don't think in terms of the currencies related back to fiat because after the 2008 crisis I don't believe the fiat currencies will last much longer with trust of the people.

So to answer your question the value of 1 GRT will always be the same value of 1 GRT today, tomorrow, and ten years from now.  All that will change is what that 1 GRT will be transacted for, the utility of the currency.

This is one of the biggest challenges that face the crypto currency demographic is they look at these currencies like investments in relation to USD or other fiat, this is why you see all these pump and dumps with greedy individuals trying to make a quick buck.  Even LTC recently went through a pump and dump...

It'll take some time but when GRT plugs into the specific markets that are being targeted it will be a special currency to be apart of Smiley

Cheers,

Brandon
