No, I don't think I do. Even so, what's going to happen to all the GPU miners?
2  Other / Beginners & Help / ASIC miner malarkey on: March 27, 2013, 01:52:25 PM
So, I looked into mining in summer 2011, and did a little bit. But I remember reading on a forum (could of been this one) around Sept 2011 that people were turning off there rigs. I instead invested in the London Stock Exchange. Anyway bit coins stayed low and I only check a couple weeks back and they're pretty high. So this rise came from the incidents unfolding in Cyprus? Further these Avalon systems, how have they impacted the price. I think they're responsible for the rapid increase in difficulty (correct?).

So if I were to buy a Avalon or pre order a unit from Butterfly labs, and it comes by June, is it likely to be a profitable investment. For how long would one need to run it before seeing the ROI? How much will the difficultly of increased by June. How many of you are going the ASIC route. Are people turning off there GPU miners now, again?

Thanks
Thomas

6  Other / Beginners & Help / HASH rate not as expected on: March 27, 2013, 02:42:29 AM
Hi, I'm running 2x5850 vapor-x (obviously not in CF). Using GUIMiner. My hash rate is combined 400 MHash/s (204MHash each). Isn't this a little on the low side? Table (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison) reads 270 at least (and mine is factory overclocked). I've not OC past factory, so why is this low?

If it helps my proc is q6700 @ 2.66, my environment is windows 8.

Any suggestions?

P.S: Unrelated, but my MHASH dropped to ~ 400KHash/s and I had to restart the miners. Any idea why this happened? I'm leaving my system on tonight, hope it doesn't drop while I'm sleeping.
EDIT: Found this, but it's not helpful: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=145265.0
Thanks

Cool. I've downloaded the top miner on deepbit. So do i create an account with them. Which account type should I get? I've gone for steady atm

I've started the miner, selected deepbit entered username and password. Did this twice so I have 2 tabs, select decide:cypress 0-0 and cypress 0-1 for each tab and started. cypress 0-0 is getting 143 and the other 260. Why so low and big gap difference?

Thanks

Hi, here is my rig

Q6700
2x Vapor X 5850 Factory OCed.

Rig consumes ~ 290-450W depending on usage. Would it be worth mining? I'm not fused about making alot of money just, say $10 a week at current bit coin alue? Is that plausible? What would people recommend. What mining pools should I use?

Thanks
Tommy
