I wonder if Gox will even make a statement at this point? They deleted all Twitter posts, and with the website supposedly being down, what channel will they use to make an announcement, Myspace?

My bet is they'll relaunch on GeoCities. Wink

I'd buy one if you would accept PayPal from me. Can't seem to get verified by CoinBase fast enough :x
4  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gox Gone, Insolvent on: February 25, 2014, 04:02:39 AM

Everyone thought this was FUD - Under the new re-structuring, those people who have funds (fiat/BTC) within Gox; do you think they give back to client base?

Doubt it. My .6btc is probably gone forever xD Time to GPU mine again to build up.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase Statement on: February 25, 2014, 03:56:58 AM
Oh man. I lost .6 btc in there Sad On one point it's like "only .6 btc." On the other point it's like "That was all my btc left Sad".

Oh well. Time to try mining with my gpu again till I can afford to invest in some kind of miner. :x

Does the Antminer shipping in March need a PSU? If so, will something like this do the trick: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139058 ?

Thanks!

The PSU you've linked will not work because it is 1 x 6+2 pci-e connectors. You need at least two to run 1 antminer S1.

What he said!!  Wink

Your PSU needs to 2 separate PCIE cables to run each Antminer, preferablly a single rail as well, like this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817116019

DO NOT RUN ON 2 CONNECTORS ON THE SAME CABLE!!!!  Wink

Awesome, thanks for the advise guys! Smiley Now I've just gotta wait for coinbase to verify my bank so I can get some coins to buy one of these miners. :>

10  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling BTC-E and MTGOX Codes ($100ish each) on: December 11, 2013, 05:08:51 AM
The BTC-E code is sold, I still have a MtGox code to sell. No idea how to get it out of my account aside from buying bitcoins with the amount and trading those.

PM if interested.
11  Economy / Currency exchange / Selling MTGOX Code ($100ish each) on: November 11, 2013, 07:47:45 PM
I'm trying to get money out of MtGox and BTC-E however I don't have enough for a bank transfer on BTC-E (and OKPay is the only place I recognize that I would use but they don't support US customers atm). I also don't feel like giving MtGox my info so I can do a bank withdrawal from there (plus I get all finicky about sharing information like that to MtGox and BTC-E anyway).

So I'm hoping to trade codes from these sites for PayPal. I'm hoping to trade with a higher post member so to mitigate the possibility of a reversal (since I can't reverse MtGox or BTC-E that I know of).

Anyway I have
$105.9799 in BTC-E
$189.10320 in MtGox

Wanting to exchange $1:$1 on Paypal. I'll pay fees if they are involved.

PM Me if you wish to do this exchange!

Thanks!

Edit: I just found out that MtGox doesn't do mtgox codes anymore... If you have a way of transferring usd in mtgox to someone else, let me know Smiley
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Eliminating Captcha's w/ Bitcoin on: April 23, 2012, 06:07:46 AM
Or combine a bit of captcha and btc?
The image will have some random tiny amount to send them, you send it, then enter a unique receive address for the refund. That way the costs to spammers are 2 way. 1 for the btc amount, then for the btc they have to spend to go through.

If I wasn't moving between places (having paid deposit + first + last month rent) I would totally be interested. Just isn't in my budget for the next few months. :\
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Wonder who this solominer is? 88.6.216.9 on: March 21, 2012, 06:30:42 AM
All I know is that my normal daily mining earnings have crippled. I don't like it. I feel like I should whine. Really though, people here are right. Mining is a business, we should upgrade if we don't like what we're earning, etc. We can view this as a great motivation to find cheaper ways to pump out hashes. Sort of like an renewable energy crisis. "Somebody is using up 10% of the oil we're used to getting. We either stop him from getting the oil that could be ours, or we find a new way to power our stuff". Not greatest analogy, but meh.

That's why I got another card. Bring on the hashes.

I agree that a botnet mining network isn't fair. it isn't right. But it isn't our jobs to control that. BitCoin network will work it out itself (through our own hash pushes making the botnet worthless in ratio retrospect. There are more of us than there are of them.)

Just my 2 Satoshis.
