If I want to know when a particular Bitcoin address sends or receives a payment, is there an Android app that will notify me via an alarm? Preferably one that polls the blockchain at least every 30 seconds to check for a transaction.

I know Blockchain.info offers this...but Blockchain.info has been having major issues recently..I don't feel safe keeping coins with them.

Any recommendations?

Sent coins to Bitcoin for Android wallet.

It now has 10 confirmations.

Nothing showed up.

Restarted app. Nothing. Restarted phone. Nothing. Backed up wallet and delete app/data, then reinstalled app and restored wallet from file. Nothing.

Coins haven't moved on Blockchain.

I stopped recommending Mycelium to people because of their node issues...and I started recommending Bitcoin for Android. Now this is causing issues.

Getting really old dealing with wallets that don't function as they should.

Mycelium phone wallet for day-to-day purchases. Trezor for long term, but accessible. Paper wallets printed securely and stored somewhere OTHER THAN A BANK FOR GOD'S SAKE for long-long term.

I hate centralized exchanges too...but they are a necessary on-ramp to get regular people into BTC. They have all kinds of dumb regulation to comply with or THEY ALL GO TO JAIL.

Greeks are not rushing to Bitcoin.

Even a 10x increase in Google searches in Greece amounts to just about nothing.

The people that were smart and withdrew their Euros before recently will only be able to buy Bitcoin from LocalBitcoins. (The capital controls/bank closings ensure this.) Yeah, Coinbase exists in Greece...but good luck using it with the capital controls.

Unless they need to get money out of the country, there is little value in buying Bitcoin for the average Greek. They are still holding Euros, which unlike the situation in Argentina, still have value outside of the country.

The psychology of all of this is what's driving the recent slight price increase. At the end of the day, psychology is what moves markets.

Whether you did or didn't is irrelevant. BTC-e has no authority to make this sort of determination on any basis, moral or legal. Particularly because they are in violation of so many KYC/AML/BSA policies themselves.

A word of caution to anybody still using BTC-e: You are fools. This exchange will be down and your coins will be lost inside of 2 years. Move them while you still can.

I am trying to recover my Blockchain.info account.

I have the identifier. I have the password. I have the mnemonic seed given to me when I originally made the account.

Problem is, I enabled API IP whitelisting to an address that I no longer have access to. I have attempted to use the recovery seed in Electrum (not compatible), Mycelium (not compatible), and Blockchain.info (just gives me the identifier and password that I already have, then tells me my IP address isn't permitted access, because of the IP whitelisting)

What is the point of having a mnemonic recovery seed if it's useless for anything other than recovering on THEIR website?

Can I use this recovery seed anywhere else to recover these coins?

What am I missing here? Anyone have any ideas?
