I play a TCG game called "Gods Unchained" that utilizes NFTs. The cards are NFTs on IMX using the Starkware, Starknet tech. The game's been thru several transitions since its launch in 2018 as blockchain tech advanced, but our cards (NFTs) have managed to transition well thru the different scaling layers. I have a little experience with NFTs, and I'm optimistic about their future.
These are some exciting times for sure.
I was part of Gods unchained sale and even got few early bird bonuses for it. While it was highly profitable for me including all the airdrops i got from it, i really hated how the team seemed to be unresponsive and opaque about their issues and actions. Game was developed so long and gaming experience far from the hearthstone it was fully plagiarized from. Something in my guts told me that they weren't telling everything, there were so many bugs that at one point i just sold everything and left. Their L2 solution was clever but it's nothing compared to matic for example. Their funding method is quite clever as they most likely don't ran out of money as long there are buyers, but how long is there going to be buyers for a game worse then hearthstone? Yeah...in the beginning the development was sketchy. They certainly took advantage of NFT hype and got out ahead of their skies. They have several years worth of development under their belt now and have a whole new team, including Chris Clay, former Game Director for MTG: Arena. The difference between a game like Hearthstone and a game like Gods Unchained is the NFT, true ownership of game assets secured by a blockchain. In Hearthstone, the platform controls the cards....In Gods Unchained, the user owns the cards, and they can trade them on the decentralized markets, permissionlessly. I'm not trying to endorse Gods Unchained, it's just an example of a usecase for NFTs other than goofy ape jpegs and pfps. It's also a good example of how the various layers of abstraction add utility to the NFTs, while maintaining the same level of security, without bloating the main blockchain. Anyway, I'm just saying....I don't think NFTs are going away --> they're just becoming more utilitarian. It's exciting stuff. |

Using the blockchain as cloud storage is not really scalable. NFT protocols don't actually store images directly and instead what you are paying for is proof that you own something that is outside of the blockchain. There's been some instances where people's NFTs disappeared from their wallet because Metamask couldn't connect to a third party API. As long as you are relying on centralized databases then their is no guarantee that your NFT will last forever.
I believe Ordinals stores the whole content (data) of the NFT on the Bitcoin blockchain. But as far as ERC-721 tokens go, only the proof of ownership is stored on the ETH blockchain. This approach reduces the burden on the Blockchain, but NFTs could be lost as they're stored on a centralized server. One needs to make a balance between both kinds of NFTs' advantages/disadvantages to make a decision. If we are really pushing for full decentralization, then it'd be best to store the data of the NFT on a sidechain or off-chain scaling solution (L2). The NFT trend is just starting to blossom, so I'd give it more time to see what happens. Who knows which NFTs will be able to last for generations? I just successfully withdrew $1,800 from the hot wallet....no problem. However, it's the manual withdrawals that concern me....I'd like to play for real, but I don't know if their wallet can handle it, or not....I wish they'd say something to let us know if their manual withdrawals have been fixed yet. Withdrawing anything over 1 eth seems to be hit or miss....
Good to hear that you have just withdrew your money eventually after waiting for several days (a week maybe). Although it is processed manually, at least you got it already. It is obvious that bitvest needs to improve their payment processing on both from the casino and for the sign campaign. Delay is not a big problem if there is a specific acceptable reason and if they inform it in advance and give frequent updates about it. No...that's not what happened. They never answered my support tickets on the other thing and I threw that money back to them after 8 days with no response....that's still unresolved. The hot wallet withdrawals have never been a problem as long as there's enough in the hot wallet. The problem is with the manual withdrawals....there's nobody there to process them. The ethereum hot wallet doesn't hold very much in it, so any type of good win, over an eth or so, goes straight to manual withdrawal which they haven't been processing for me. The small withdrawal I made today came from the hot wallet....I've learned that it's not a good idea to bet too much because if the hot wallet gets too low, I might not get paid....I don't even know if they're there anymore because they haven't been refilling the ethereum hot wallet and they haven't been responding to me. They might be in the hospital with covid or something; I don't know, but the ethereum hot wallet's been getting filled by depositors....not by staff....so....there's that. |

Damn, Litecoin bankroll took a hit recently, didn't it? Was about 13% in profit on just over a month of investment and then checked now and it took a 20% hit (nett 10% or so), so am now in loss. Still really good results overall, just wondering who the LTC whale was;)
P.S. My two cents about BV. Still a player after many years. Yes, they seem to be a little slow on withdrawals, but always honoured, and if I want it fast, I PM admin or mod, they respond and work it out no problem.
I've never had a problem with them before either, but what's your definition of slow? I waited a week for my withdrawals, and I pm'd them, submitted tickets, pm'd mods, posted on the forums....they never responded to me....they still haven't responded to me. There's something different going on with them now. I don't know what it is but I hope they fix it. |

Let me be clear. I'm not trying to make a scam accusation....I love the site. I enjoy the games. I've been playing there a long time, and I truly hope that lightlord is alright. I don't want to see them go under --> I want to see them get right. The behavior they're exhibiting as of late is abnormal, and it doesn't look good when their paid shills try to justify the decadent behavior as normal....It's not normal. How could anybody feel comfortable depositing on a gambling site that doesn't honor their own withdrawal policy? That needs to be addressed....that's all. It was a terrible experience not receiving my withdrawals in the time range they quoted (2-18 hrs). I was patient while they ignored me day after day, and I didn't get tilted until it became clear that they were not monitoring their site, nor were they maintaining their wallets. I'm not asking for much - an acknowledgement, an explanation, maybe an apology and a reassurance that the problem is solved - that's all. I want to feel comfortable playing on the site again....I miss the way it used to be.

We cant use the long delay of the signature payment as reference for the payment of player's withdrawal because both are completely different case. Bitvest/Lightlord need to have more time in resolving an issue like this where the hot wallet is not enough to process withdrawal. I believe it is not the first time I heard player is complaining about the empty hotwallet. Lightlord always pays. Sometimes it takes a while, but it pays. However accusations like yours regarding this and other casinos we see them every now and then and in most cases they turn out to be false accusations.

I do not think that it is about being loyal or whatever, it is about lightlord not being available at all times. I am pretty sure these casinos he owns (or manages?) do not really have anything that worths anything similar to a good salary, he probably doesn't make much money at all. Which is why he has another job or something in "real" world where he has to go to work and come back.
I can see for example even the signatures can sometimes wait as long as 2-3-4 weeks and then paid total. He never scams people out of money, never heard of that, but he is usually quite late, so what you should be getting could take up to 2 months maybe, and that is really really upsetting I know, but I doubt that he would scam anyone any money which is why I think whatever is going on here right now about this problem will be solved as well, just very very late.

Yeah....it's never happened before, but I've never won like this before either. Good wins are are very far and few between on bitvest, but I play the long game....I bet big and go for the long shots knowing that some day the long shots will pay. I didn't realize that it would be so difficult to collect after a good win because I've only made withdrawals large enough for the hot wallet to handle. <-- That's what hurts....I've been believing in the site for a long time, thinking that it would pay off when I win in the long run. And when they refused to acknowledge me after all the money I spent waiting for this day to come, it hurt something fierce. I was betting upto $125 a drop (10x 0.005 eth) and I was deep in the hole, so when I finally hit, I was ecstatic....then they didn't pay. Day after day they ignored my tickets, my pms, my posts - I even had other mods submit pms on my behalf. I was patient, until I wasn't patient anymore -- what set me off was when one of the site's investors pm'd me and suggested I might get negative trusted if I posted a complaint on BitcoinTalk....I don't take to that type of stuff very well and it set me off. Anyway, I loved the site and I've never had a problem there before....I've actually won, and withdrew, several times with the free tokens they give away. I don't know what's going on with site behind the scenes right now, but something ain't right. I tried contacting them every way I could imagine and even had some of the mods try contacting them on my behalf. I tried everything. They still haven't reached out to me. I mean, if lightlord is having personal problems, I would understand because I love the site....just acknowledge me. I think @lightlord now is active and will soon turn into your issue mate i believe that he has a enough explanation on why this happens because i am also a visitor of bitvest and plays once in a while but never had this issue. so a little waiting can result to resolving of this case. Hope you'll still play in this site because i believe that this is one of the most trusted crypto gambling site that still exist now. I wish I'd have known it was a habitual occurrence before I stressed out. They should explain the possibility of slow withdrawals on their landing page so that we wouldn't worry when they don't pay us as fast as we've come accustomed to being paid with the crypto casinos - some of them pay within minutes. I'm not going to lie though --> a week does seem a little long in my opinion. Thanks for your help. I wish him well and I hope he's healthy....but....I wouldn't trust this guy with money. The site's no longer legitimate, and I would question the integrity of anybody who continues to advertise for the site in its current state.
