Got an S4 that is doing something funny with one of the card's temperature reporting.
Chain 2 reports 0C at power up, rises to 10C for an hour or more and then suddenly reports 80C and stops hashing, with the stop hashing feature turned off the fans go to max RPM and the unit continues to function just fine. At all times it hashes at 2,xxx GHs, all ASICs report as oooooooooooooooooooooo on that chain and all the cards are about the same temp to the touch. The room it is in is about 10C, and 3 of the chains are reporting 25~30C. Clearly it is a reporting problem and not an actual overtemp.
I would be content to let it run this way other than the increased fan speed and noise. Is there a way to mark off the temp sensor so that it reports 0deg so the fans don't go full bore?
Also, as I understand it, the sensor is a LM75a like arduino uses, it wouldn't be too much trouble to just replace it. I have already reseated all the cables and the controller so I think it does come down to the sensor.
Any thoughts?
