1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to safely store big amounts of BTC? on: August 09, 2019, 11:28:30 AM
Hello,

Suppose I would expand my BTC portfolio to 10 or 15 BTC.....how would you store such a big amount of coins?

Ofcourse I would use a hardware wallet, but if I store them all on 1 wallet and I lose the wallet, or the house gets on fire and it burns, then I have lost those coins forever? Or are there still ways to get to the coins somehow in that case?

Would you advise to store let's say 15 BTC on 3 different hardware wallets (5BTC each), or would you spread it out even more? Ofcourse I'm not gonna buy more than max. 3 hardware wallets but in that case maybe 15 different laptop wallets (Electrum, Jaxx, Exodus etc.) with 1BTC each on it is safer?

I'm looking for the safest way to store a big amount of BTC and to minimize the risks of losing a big amount.

I've stored them on an old laptop, and never connect it online.

Don't trust the blackmailer and spammer.   bitcoinprofit.net is still paying without any problem.  I've made my initial deposit 66 times bigger.  Wink

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will You Advise Newbies To Enter Bitcoin Now? on: July 27, 2019, 01:42:58 AM

The general sentiment of the market is getting very positive on Bitcoin as it is experiencing some upward movement. A lot of people are expecting that Bitcoin will soon breach the $6,000 level and can possibly go beyond that level in the coming weeks and months...and there are those already predicting of $8,000 or even $10,000 before 2019 ends. I know this is just another speculative notions but this can be reflective of the ongoing confidence the market has on the King of Cryptos.

With this backdrop in mind, will you advise a newbie to bitcoin to enter at this stage so he can be able to ride the coming "boom" or will you tell him to wait some more until the market is dipping?

Sure, I've brought more than 20 people to the bitcoin world.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the price of Bitcoin if Donald Trump can ban Bitcoin ? on: July 27, 2019, 01:40:20 AM
US President Donald Trump Says He’s ‘Not a Fan’ of Bitcoin

so if Donald Trump has the power to ban Bitcoin, what happens to Bitcoin in the future? the price of Bitcoin will continue to fall and die or the price of Bitcoin will continue to grow and increase? let's give your opinion because I want to hear your response.

The problem is that NO body including Donald Trump, can ban Bitcoin.

I'd store them on offline devices.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think satoshi will ever come back and post on this forum? on: July 26, 2019, 07:05:03 AM
I think he or she will, something in my heart tells me they are still alive. I don`t think they will reveal their location or who they are, but I do think they will post on this forum in the next 5 years. It is only a matter of time before some big big rogue miners or bitcoin devs do something he or she do not like or see`s a problem with and they will have to come back and have a voice in the matter.

It will probably start by him or her saying something like this.

"Keep using the longest chain" or maybe "use this chain instead from now on"

I did a poll earlier a few months ago I think 19 out of 20 people said they would use whatever satoshi said.

Do you thank Satoshi is a he, a she or even a they?
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Only a Crime Tool on: July 26, 2019, 07:03:30 AM
The amount of news on hacking, money laundering, drug trafficking and others that involve cryptocurrency or bitcoin seems to never run out. has become a natural law there are always two sides to this life. There is a right there left, there is a good one that is bad. so also in the world of crypto, bitcoin and others. But we must agree together that all return to their own people, want to use it all for good or evil. So there is no side of crime in bitcoin, because bitcoin is just a tool used. The evil is the human mind that directs it.

Well, you can say that any type of money is a crime tool.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can lost Bitcoins be traced? on: July 26, 2019, 06:59:18 AM
How is it possible to track lost or stolen Bitcoins? While public addresses are not directly linked to a person's identity, the Blockchain itself is widely transparent. Knowing how many Bitcoin are lost is key towards establishing a correct circulating supply of the cryptocurrency.

As such, there might be a slight miscalculation on the total number of Bitcoin in circulation. If it's a lot more less than what's circulating, then I believe that Bitcoin's price should be higher due to its highly-limited supply.

Nonetheless, do you think it's widely possible to track lost Bitcoins? Your thoughts about this would be highly appreciated for educational/learning purposes. Smiley

If it can be traced, then it most probably it's not lost. Grin
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With the price increase, again, should we consider moving from BTC to mBTC? on: May 04, 2017, 12:38:57 PM
With the increase in bitcoin price, I think we should seriously consider using mBTC?

For example, if I am buying a $5 coffee, it will cost 0.0033 BTC now... Too many zeros behind the dot! Isn't it better if we use 3.3mBTC for a coffee? At least this is easier for someone with poor math like me...

Yes, that makes sense, especially the fees. Now the fees are so high to make a transaction.
11  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Is "bitcoinprofit.net - The First Bitcoin Bank on the planet" paying? on: May 04, 2017, 12:34:37 PM
I'll give them a try to see if they actually do pay what they claim too pay out per day in the interest.
Pm'd OP of this thread to see if he will allow me to start off with him with a small amount to start off with to see how much they do pay out over a 24 hour period of holding the bitcoin for.
If it is a good amount, then I will invest my own btc into it.
Will give my entire and complete review of my experience over a 24 hours period.

Hello, I am not advertising my link, I am just monitoring it, no need to join under me if you are looking for something that I could offer.  Wink

It's up to you to join or not, I've got nothing to lose or to get for you joining, and I've got nothing to offer to you.

I am not sure if you were meaning the affiliate commission? yes, if you join under me, I will get 3.5% from the deposit you make, if you do care that so much, well, I can pay you back half of that 3.5%.  Cheesy

Sure. Will post my  results as well so to join with your efforts as well when and how muvh that payment is for.
I accept your offer.
Thanks.

Oh, you  were asking me to pay you back half of your deposit in your PM.

Are you day dreaming or you're just joking?  Did you understand my English or I did not make that clear enough.

I am NOT able to pay you back half of your deposit!!!!

For example, if you invest 1 BTC, I will get 0.035 from your deposit, and I can pay back you half of this 0.035, that is 0.0175; Is this clear enough?

Anyway, please, please don't join under me.  Please join under someone else. Thank you!  I am not that in need for that 3.5% commission.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many ways are there to earn bitcoins? on: May 04, 2017, 12:21:44 PM
~snip~

Also it depends on how much you are going to invest. Because if you are able to invest in mining rig then it's very possible that you can earn more. But mining nowadays is not more profitable. You can now try to mine alt coins but choose only those alt coin that is very profitable.

Yeah mining bitcoins doesn't make any sense now so its better to mine altcoins that have good reputation so I will prefer to mine etc, eth and xmr as those are the coins that will survive in long term.

Good thing that there's an alternative for mining. And if you want to keep on mining you can just simply mine those coins and I prefer to mine with Zec it's profitable as my friends are telling me. But I'm still into saving my capital because the amount needed is that high. After mining, just sell it when the price of bitcoin is high or you can see it's profitable.
Many say cloud mining is a scam because many are using the HYIP system and to make rig mining requires quite expensive equipment, I think to altcoin/ico better investment than mining.

Those so called cloud mining take a lot of maintenance fee from investors, I saw many people complaining that they are losing money on genesis mining.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should people use Bitcoin? on: May 02, 2017, 06:44:49 PM
Bitcoin is the future of money, or so they say.

I would like to hear your opinions on Why should people use Bitcoin?

I use bitcoin because of the low fee, and many investment sites accept deposits via bitcoin.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many ways are there to earn bitcoins? on: May 02, 2017, 06:42:15 PM
this all sounds like: go to play and you will earn... or loose
so I think BTC - is just a toy for all of you. Are here anybody who do some BTC business? what was it?

A toy, oh no, as a kind of money, bitocin will never be a toy for me.  But maybe money IS just a toy for those billionaires.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why these two addresses keep transfering BTC between each other? on: May 02, 2017, 03:27:11 PM

Transactions is still counting bigger and bigger.  Really don't know what the owner is doing and what's his/her purpose?

No. Transactions    773595
Total Received    326,088.77442348 BTC
Final Balance    368.78299926 BTC

Edited: By researching a lot, I knew now, the addresses are a online wallet site's main addresses.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much maximum BTC can be sent in a single transaction? on: May 02, 2017, 03:21:02 PM

Hello!

I came to know about this website https://bitcoinprofit.net which named itself as "The First Bitcoin Bank on the planet" on this topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1858118.msg18481346#msg18481346.

Welcome to bitcoinprofit.net - The First Bitcoin Bank on the planet! There is only one simple formula here - you deposit your bitcoin to our company and we pay you variable daily profits just like you handle your fiat currency in a real bank, you can withdraw your interests and your original deposit at any time.

The site offers an investment product which claims to pay 0.72~1.44% variable daily profit, it sounds quite reasonable, and looks quite promising as well, what impress me most is that deposit could be canceled and withdraw initial deposit amount at any time.
Quote
0.72~1.44% daily
Hourly Accrual of Profit
Minimum Deposit: Ƀ0.0111
Minimum Withdrawal: Ƀ0.0005
Paying Interests 7 Days a Week

I saw payment proof on the site https://bitcoinprofit.net/payments, but I am not sure if such proof is trusted or not.  Anybody already tried this kind of investment product? Please let me know, if it is still paying. I am ready to give my first try because I'm a little bit tired of trading.

I am investing some BTC in this one, what I can tell is, so far it is still paying, I just received my latest payment 0.00610937 BTC today  https://blockchain.info/tx/72c31e0c60ddf2b4f115583d9757e8a83c56037b76365c2376c24cb681e9bf3d

Investing to online investment site is much more risky than investing to real funds, if you do want to try, try with small amount first.

How much did you invest?

How much return you already had?

The problem of these ponzi sites is that of 1000 investors only 50 or 100 will be paid, the others will be paid partially and as never people complain or complain the authorities these thieves continue to create ponzi sites and steal bitcoin/money people's.

Look for legitimate investments

I invested 1.29434399Ƀ and till now had 0.83864385Ƀ in return.

I am not planning to withdraw my initial deposit.

I will keep investing in it.

Because my earning will be making up to 100% (in profit without withdrawing principal) within next month.

That sounds cool, have you even been compounding? I mean investing from account balance?

Vow, good to see people discussing this site on bitcointalk.  I joined this site very early, I invested total 1.66 BTC, and till now I've got back total 1.89, hopeful it will be lasting for longer so that I can earn more.

It seemed you were already in profit (over 100%), isn't it? Are you going to invest more?
