1  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019 - 11- 25] The 4 Possible Bitcoin Scenarios In The Long Run on: November 28, 2019, 08:52:41 PM
anything could happen though, including a great big nothingburger

What is your take on the current bearish reversal? Have any bearish reversals ever made you uncomfortable or you don't care because you rely on the long term potential for Bitcoin to hit $100,000 and possibly higher?
2  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019 - 11- 25] The 4 Possible Bitcoin Scenarios In The Long Run on: November 27, 2019, 08:19:41 PM
it is unbelievable that there are people who say the price will reache $250,000 on 2020, which is absurd.

It's not about the prediction being realistic or unrealistic, but about the people making these predictions to get the media exposure they are after. News portals have a habit of donating exposure to tards like McAfee. No one in his right mind believes that Bitcoin will reach $250000 in 2020.
3  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-11-26] China Shuts Over 100 Crypto Exchanges on: November 27, 2019, 08:11:18 PM
I don't know the names of these 100 exchanges, but the Chinese government is the kind of government that fulfills its threats, they are evil...

It's kinda difficult to figure out whether China has actually shut down 100 exchanges. We have to believe some lousy news portals reporting the matter. Moreover, the media tends to exaggerate figures to make them stand out more. It would not come as a surprise to me if the Chinese government shut down a few local exchanges but the number has been bumped by news portals to 100 for juicier click bait content.
4  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance US - bad for US citizens? on: November 25, 2019, 10:47:09 PM
You can't buy stocks without going through a broker, and all of them require KYC, as do banks if you want so much as a checking account.
These days there are just as many non-compliant stock>forex brokers as there are non-compliant crypto exchanges. Most of these brokers offer CFD's where those buying and trading these contracts don't actually own the stocks nor do they have dividend or voting rights. It's all based on buying the exposure to the asset. It's hard to regulate everyone one of them. Where one goes bust two new brokers pop up.

figmentofmyass, is it really necessary to keep posting consecutively in the same thread and in the same page? It's quite annoying and spammy.
5  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex started supporting native Segwit (bech32 - bc1) withdrawals. on: November 02, 2019, 08:53:46 AM
First blockchain.com and now Bitfinex too. Coincidence? It could be that they are trying to get ahead of the game as blockchain.com has launched an exchange not that long ago?  Thanks for the heads up.

Coinbase and Bitstamp next?

Coinbase already does. Bitstamp I can't speak for.
6  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: after 2+ years blockchain.com explorer finally supports bech32 addresses! on: November 02, 2019, 08:40:51 AM
I actually left blockchain.com for btc.com but now blockchain finally supports every address format I can switch back to what I am used to.

I'm a sucker for blockchain's design as that is what grew with me throughout the years. Nostalgia I can almost call it. Thanks for the heads up.
7  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-10-24] Lightning Network User Reportedly Loses 4 Bitcoin: What Happened on: October 27, 2019, 10:31:09 AM
It's like all these cases I read about people accidentally sending 1 BTC or 10 to the wrong address, accidentally paying 1 BTC fees, or all these accidents.

Sending Bitcoin to the wrong address can happen to anyone, while paying 1BTC in fees is purely the result of people messing around with raw format transactions which they shouldn't. I did it once myself to find out that I sent a low dollar single input transaction with like 0.2BTC in fees due to wrong configuration.

8  Economy / Speculation / Re: [2019-10-24] Bitcoin Price Crashed Today: 2 Reasons on: October 24, 2019, 09:41:06 AM
We have been grinding through a bear market ever since we peaked at $19800 back in 2017. All that happened this year is that we have been gifted a bull run providing bag holders a rare opportunity to sell at +$10000 levels. I doubt we will ever get to see the price go back to its past high.

There will be bounces up along the way down to lower levels, but the best we have seen of this market was in 2017 and there may not be a return back to these levels anymore. The same fake usdt money is being recylced to pump the price where soon the last bit of real money will look for an exit.
9  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-10-20] HTC Launches Exodus 1S, First Phone That Can Run a Full BTC Node on: October 22, 2019, 04:25:35 PM
This is something big blockers with their limitless block size roadmap wouldn't able to do would there be enough demand for the space in their blocks.

Ethereum's blockchain size is rapidly approaching 2TB which means that they already can't have a full node running on a mobile phone.

These nodes will end up running only in big data centers if they survive long enough, easy to combat by governments through legislation.
10  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-09-23] CEO of largest alternative investment firm vows not to buy bitcoin on: October 02, 2019, 12:29:51 PM
Not sure why he is not concerned about the fiat currency use among criminals Roll Eyes.

Because he is one of the criminals using fiat. Wink

In all fairness, I find most of people reacting to these CEO statements to be more ignorant than the CEO's themselves. It's all a show they put up so that the average person looking up to them don't get involved, and that while these CEO's have a great laugh behind the scenes seeing their stacks grow larger and larger. It's a game they play. Smart money versus dumb money. Guess who's going to win?
11  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-09-29] A Dangerous Bug in Bitcoin’s Lightning Network Has Been Fixed on: October 02, 2019, 11:32:14 AM
ok, so the actual Lightning devs seem to be saying that real-world instances of the exploit have happened, not just a bunch of whiners from competing cryptocurrencies. That's not to say that someone couldn't be deceiving the devs, you have to take these claims on trust, as it'd be simple to falsify any evidence. But I guess that must be the underlying point: some person who the Lightning devs genuinely trust have reported this to them.

Is there any indication of how much has been stolen according to those making the claims? Tbh, I wouldn't expect the devs to come up with such statements if they haven't been given the data to review what actually has happened. If they did anyway, then that's a very poor show from the devs because it's more fuel to those looking to leverage it against Bitcoin.
12  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-08] Binance Confirms 7000BTC ($40m) Security Breach on: May 08, 2019, 04:23:31 PM
CZ admitted in one of his Tweets that Bitcoin's ledger is the most immutable ledger on the planet. He understands it now. Smiley

If he really believed that, he wouldn't even think about bringing it up. Could it be ignorance? It could be, but you would expect him to know how Bitcoin works considering that it is what his exchange depends on the most. He also needs BTC to dump his BNB stash on people and accumulate as much BTC as possible before his ponzi coin and exchange go bust.

Now is a good time for him to tell us to use his DEX.

It's not a DEX. It's a centralized shithole to pump his BNB ponzi coin.
13  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-04-21] Bitcoin Displacing Gold Entirely Would Value BTC At $350,000: Is It on: April 28, 2019, 04:13:38 PM
It will takes a lot of time, sure, but to say it impossible while at the same time saying crypto is new is a bit too soon imo. It might change, it might not. As you said by yourself, crypto is new, very young compared to gold, but what happens 100 years later or 1000 years later, we don't know. Gold might be out of dated by then and crypto might replace it, or not.

Gold outdated? You've got to be kidding me. Gold has been serving some form of useful utility for thousands of years and there is no reason to think it won't be the main asset in the world in the following thousand years.

There are too many moonboys wasting time behind their desks staring at the crypto prices all day.
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 95% fake volume :) on: April 28, 2019, 03:58:31 PM
even so called big exchangers are having fake volumes. Bitfinex, Kraken. Most of them, are not financial licensed...

It's about incentives, which exchanges do have to manipulate their volumes. However, the more reputable an exchange is, the lower the probability of severe volume manipulation is.

Bitfinex is a scum exchange. I can't find one single reason why people still use it after everything they have gone through. It's like people don't even care anymore, which they eventually will pay the price for.
15  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-17]Bitcoin will hit $740,000 despite crypto winter'says Chinese guru on: February 22, 2019, 05:49:14 PM
It is exaggerated, but never say never. After 20k will be touched again, 74k is just one step away, really (you have to visualize an exponential graph).
Of course, going 10x more is way more difficult and I think that the upper limit is exaggerated... for the next market cycle, that is.

2013 high $1.2k > 2017 high $19.5k = +4 doublings.
2017 high $19.5k > 20XX high $78k = 2 doublings.

If we assume that every bull run from now on will be less extreme than the previous one, $78k would statistically be an easy target. Less extreme up swings will lead to less extreme down swings the more liquid and institutionalized this market becomes.

More paper coins will definitely damp the demand during the next bull run. $50k has been my target far before the price took a dive under its major support last year. Everything above is a sweet bonus.
16  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-22] Bitcoin Transactions per Second Approaching All-time High on: February 22, 2019, 05:04:15 PM
The TPS is quicker but still not good enough for mass adoption. Eos and cardano are waiting in the background to show bitcoin what tps is supposed to be

Woooow. Centralized shitcoins have no scaling problems, welcome in the world where decentralized coins are driving the market. Now go back to your shitcoin cave.
17  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: February 19, 2019, 10:01:58 PM
I know that they have been doing that for years now, but after a long period of not being a jerk, it suddenly happens more frequently lately. Considering where they are financially, they could use every possible penny that they generate with mining.

It could be an attempt to halt the number of confirmed transactions because it has been growing rapidly, and an increasing transaction count isn't exactly the best promotion material for their own coin that can't seem to attract any growth at all.
18  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: February 19, 2019, 09:34:42 PM
Does anyone know why Antpoo is mining so many empty blocks?
19  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do people have to pay taxes on Bitcoin? on: August 03, 2018, 11:16:02 PM
It is not forcing us to pay tax even country implementing tax like the US there is an alternative way you can't pay tax.

I don't see how you can legally avoid paying tax over your gains in the US. The only thing I can think of is that you spend your coins instead of cashing out to fiat, which makes sure that tax doesn't apply, but once you have cashed out to fiat there is no escape. If people think they can safely trade on centralized exchanges without being noticed they are delusional. Coinbase has been a warning sign that people should be really careful about how they use exchanges. I seriously wouldn't be surprised to see authorities force exchanges to hand over user information every month in order to see what everyone is doing. If people don't pay their due taxes, authorities will come and take it from them.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best Cryptocurrency to Invest? on: August 03, 2018, 09:30:40 PM
For the long term, of course investing in crypto which is currently top 20 is profitable and safe, but for the short term, investing in coins that are still cheap or below $ 0.5 is what will make our money skyrocket.

There is no such a thing as a safe top 20 coins. If we look at all the fundamentals and ignore all our personal opinion on specific coins, then it's just BTC, ETH, XRP, BCH, EOS, LTC, XMR to be the safest options to go for. All other options are too much of a gamble and have no long term viability in my opinion. Altcoins tend to replace each other quite regularly, and this will continue to happen. I personally only see value in Bitcoin but people are different and for that reason have different preferences. Just make sure you don't expose yourself to a lot of risk by having large altcoin positions. Bitcoin is for the stability and altcoins can give you an extra boost as for the speculative side.
