1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinTracking - Arbitrage?? on: September 13, 2018, 04:48:12 PM
Does CoinTrack allow for inter-exchange arbitrage trades? In 2017 I bought some coins on Bitstamp, transferred them to GDAX and sold them as there was a spread of about 3% on average (unfortunately gone now). Do I have to calculate all these trades manually or does CT allow me to automate the process somehow? Many thanks.

PS: I did a search for "arbitrage" and go no results.

The ledger nano s offers the option to sign messages from addresses which were created on this ledger.
You have to open the settings menu -> tools -> "sign message".
Afterwards you can choose an address which you want to use signing the message and enter your message.
Sometimes it shows an error message. In this case you should try to update your firmware and try it again afterwards.

But I have a Nano, not a Nano S.

The Nano has a "sign message" option but you get an error message when you try and sign. This is not some glitch on my end, but a well-known flaw in the Nano. There have been two firmware updates recently to deal with BCH and Segwit. I don't think that had anything to do with disabling the signing function but in any case it just doesn't work on the Nano. The newer Nano S apparently can sign. Electrum is capable of utilizing the addresses from the Nano (and has done it with mine). It also has a "sign message" option but again, perhaps because of the Nano flaw, that signing doesn't work either. It says it's signing but it never happens.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Signing a BTC address on a Windows PC? on: October 29, 2017, 03:42:33 AM
I am trying to sign a message to claim Bitcore for my BTC addresses. I use a Ledger Nano wallet (not a Nano S) which cannot sign messages on its own. I was told to try doing it in conjunction with Electrum but have been unsuccessful in signing the message. Is there a Windows friendly program that will sign messages either in conjunction with my Nano or independently? Thanks very much

Circle is less expensive than Coinbase. If you buy bitcoin using a linked bank account there is no fee to buy bitcoin.

Unfortunately their buy price for bitcoin is about 1% higher than Coinbase.

I will suggest that you try btc-e.com they usually charge between 0.25 - 0.30 percent.

I took a look at btc-e and the fees are definitely less than Coinbase AND the bitcoin price is cheaper as well. Do you or does anyone know how long btc-e has been around, where they are based and who has funded them?

Stick with Coinbase. Everyone else charges fees between 3 to 6 percent if not more.

Wow. It's very surprising that with all the venture cap money being thrown at Bitcoin that no serious competition exists in this area for Coinbase. Someone should come out with an Amazon Prime approach where for $99/year you can buy all the Bitcoin you want and at a competitive price. Shocked

I'm US based and prefer buying Bitcoin online. Have been using Coinbase but don't enjoy paying their 1% fee every time. Speed is not a concern for me so the 3 days or so wait for Coinbase to debit my bank account doesn't bother me at all. I'm just wondering if there's a cheaper online alternative. I was considering Xappo but you have to pay for the wire AND it seems to me their BTC price is consistently a few dollars more than Coinbase, so that's another consideration. Thanks for any suggestions.
