1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unconfirmed for over 48 hours on: February 09, 2017, 02:57:21 PM
It had zero transactions when I made the post and then showed 11 transactions 15 minutes later.  I had been checking it for almost 48 hours.  That is very strange indeed.  I immediately hit delete post after I posted this and got "You can not delete your own topic".  You know what happens when you assume.  Thanks a lot.

Also I have never worried about the fee or set one on purpose.  I've never had a transaction delayed over an hour except one time it took a few hours.  I guess I'll have to start checking the fee from now on.
2  Bitcoin / Electrum / Unconfirmed for over 48 hours on: February 09, 2017, 03:43:19 AM
I made a transactions over 48 hours ago and it is unconfirmed.  I have been buying BTC since early 2011 at $7.

I've never had an issue with unconfirmed transactions and, I'm not sure what to do.  I used Electrum to  send my coin as I have many times.

I see that I messed up and sent all my BTC which left a tiny fee.  I'm not sure how to backup Electrum and pseudo double spend my coin.

Can anyone with experience help me cancel this transaction?

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining Win 8 VS Win 10 on: April 06, 2016, 11:55:57 PM
I am currently mining on a GTX 960 at 10Mh/s in Windows 8.1 for fun when not using my PC.  I really want to upgrade to Windows 10 to checkout some new development tools.  I'm afraid my Hash Rate my drop significantly after everything I've read.   Should I hold out on Windows 10 or can I go ahead and just use an older Nvidia driver for my card?  Thanks for any suggestions.
keep use win7 , and use this miner to maximize profit..

www.ethercoinminer.com

I never mentioned Win7 and then you spam my post?  Why would your miner be faster than the official ones written in C?  I'm scared to even click that link.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining ETH - How do you determine your real Hash Speed? on: April 01, 2016, 08:04:20 PM
Yea if you overclock it, it can change unstable. What program you use, im intersted too in your project
Can u put link in forum?  Smiley

Sure I use a CUDA minor in Windows now for experimenting.  Here is a guide but, you can google around and find more info:

I'm running this on my gaming rig with one Nvidia EVGA GTX960. In one day I've mined $2.77 which is about $81/month at the current price.  It is profitable currently even after electricity.  I might just buy some more GPU's and build up a rig soon.  I figure even if the price crashes I can always sell cards on Ebay to get some money back.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining ETH - How do you determine your real Hash Speed? on: April 01, 2016, 02:56:44 PM
I'm playing with mining ETH and the client written in C.  The output shows I'm mining at 10.3 Mh/s and I contribute to  the Suprnova pool.  The pool says I mine at 16Mh/s and goes up to 27Mh/s.  I can't figure out if Suprnova is wrong (when I mined other currencies in the past it seemed accurate) or if the client is under reporting.  How do you guys determine your real hash speed?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many Ether will be produced? on: April 01, 2016, 02:40:54 PM
I'm mostly a lurker but, I have to say one thing.  It is so funny to see people all emotional calling anyone discussing ETH a shill.  Then see those same people just make shit up like, there is no hard cap it's unlimited supply.  If you just went to the ETH website you would see there is a yearly limit.  P.S.  US currency has no cap for real and it seems to be the strongest currency.   Of course the ETH website also says it isn't a currency meaning it isn't designed to buy things like BTC.  If it's usage is distributed Apps/Smart contracts does a cap really mattter?  I don't know the answer.  That is a serious question, not rhetorical.

I'm not pro ETH or a shill but, I am mining some with my video card.  As long as it's profitable I'll continue and as long as Microsoft keeps adding support to Azure, Visual Studio etc. I'm sure people will continue to invest.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My Etherium setup... 30 MH/s Any Reccomendations on: March 30, 2016, 10:07:38 PM
Are you using Linux or Windows?

I tried a Linux Live CD but, the client had pre-reqs and it looks like you need a full install.  I get 10Mh/s currently in Windows 8 using one eVGA GTX 960 but, it crashes the driver after a few hours.  It seems profitable especially at $12.  I want to take the plunge and build a real mining rig however, I'm nervous the profits might not last and I'll regret it.

> Any recommendations as to what I should do with ETH?

I'd personally hold if you feel the price is stable and/or going up.  Otherwise if you want to be conservative convert to BTC on an exchange.

Was there logins in the auth.log from an outsider using root or a bash_history showing someone was using the root account?  It's a bad idea to have ssh access open to root accounts.  You should use another account and SU.  Also you should have hidden bastion server access and not allow any ssh from IP's other than two bastions (the other as a backup).

I ask because rarely does a hack happen with a root password.  Typically it's poor code allow cross-site scripting, SQL injection etc. etc.  If there is no proof of shell access search access logs for PUTS and POSTS to narrow it down.  Or, check your database integrity to see if it was compromised.

If you belive more in math than in randomnes you should play martingale. What is the odds of red popping up yet another time...

50%

Yeah, but there's already been a lot of reds.  Clearly you don't understand probability.  Eventually there has to be a black, and since there's been so many reds it's very unlikely it will continue to be red.

So the chances are *way* less than 50%.  Black is a sure bet.

Past observations do not affect future outcomes when it comes to randomness.  If this were true casinos wouldn't have roulette.  The odds red or black for double zero roulette btw are 47.37%.  You will eventually lose your money and that's why Las Vegas casinos are so big.  The only three ways mathematically to win (I know for sure) are positive expectation video poker, cheating (counting cards) at black jack, and being good at poker, in a casino.  I personally made a lot of money at poker and video poker back when it was more profitable.  I know people who make 60k+ a year playing black jack but, it seems very stressful to me.

Thanks 111magic!  I was able to grab the data files and now I'm at May 28th.  329000/416826.  It appears also to be moving much faster now as well.  I'm not sure why this wallet application doesn't just download the data instead of whatever it was doing before.  I assume some sort of super slow block verification that is disk intensive.  If anyone has a more recent version it would be nice but, I have a feeling the last two months will take a few more hours only.

I'm trying to sync a new wallet.  I mined some coins, downloaded the QT wallet (v1.2.2.1-magi), and sent the coins to the address.  I did not realize it would have to sync every transaction ever because, I'm new to mining and wallets.  After 8 hours I'm at 8517/416535.  Is there some way to backup my private/public key and open a wallet without syncing for possibly weeks?   Or, maybe there is a way to speed up this super slow sync?
