When can we expect full production of these units so they can just be outright purchased online somewhere?

One of the first ICOs that sadly lead into many others. They should have killed this one so much sooner and maybe spared the community the future BS.

This has been dead for like 2 years. It amazes me you all still have something to discuss. Lock thread anyone?

It must be nice to have space to do all of these cool projects. Colour me jelly.

Well I haven't set up a 'new' (non-deprecated) wallet account yet on 0.9. I was just trying to import old wallets to the newest software for balance checks.

I have tried using nothing and also random passwords but simplewallet always gives the same error. 'Failed to load: invalid password.'  This has me stumped considering others success.

I have an old first gen wallet too, so am interested in how to import into 0.9 ver also. Can the info be made public?
thanks

I just open the wallet and it said something like 'converting the wallet'. I dont remember the words. Then simplewallet exited. And then i reopened it and worked fine. Took some time to check all the blocks.

Did not work here. Keeps asking for a password that doesn't exist.

Will do, thanks.

Here is another dumb question.  I have an old wallet from the earliest days of monero and I know there is no password associated with it.  I try to import it into 0.9 but it always asks for a password to access it upon simplewallet startup. What am I doing wrong here?

Do they really still have that much of people's money that they need to send out these deceitful e-mails regularly? Sheesh

It is nice to hear that this project is not to be rushed forward for a quick reward. I have high expectations for all involved.

Yeah I have come across that program but I am unsure how to feed it the hash of my wallet pass. It doesn't work with the 'keys' file. Still trying to get a handle on all this, not my forte.  As I said super dumb.

It was an older wallet that doesn't appear to have a seed but I could be wrong.  Still checking.

Other news:  My node seems rock solid with the 0.9 release.

Bruteforcing only works if you know 90-99% of the password already and it is not too complex. Hopefully you will find your mnemonic seed or remember your password.

I am pretty sure I remember the base password so I think a bruteforce shouldn't take to long if I can find something that will do it.

So it is official, I could the dumbest sod on earth.  Seems I have forgotten my simplewallet password, ugh.  There any scripts or progs out there for brute force?  Thanks gents.

But those are Female, not male.

Do you mean these?

It would be pretty easy to make cables with these. You need them to extend the everyday female connectors?

Correct, those are dual female connectors.  For the zeus miners they accidentally used female connectors on the pcb for the first batch. They needed an adapter to go from the female PSU cable to the female pcb connector to make it work.  I can make these if anyone needs them.

If it is windows then dumbly for sure. lol.  Thanks a lot guys.

Well according to multiple explorers I am all synced up and even a block ahead of some, hehe.  So it seems that I do not need the deprecated blockchain.bin any longer with newer versions of the core correct? That will save some space for sure. I guess then you all have another node now up and running.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: December 22, 2015, 09:31:57 PM
So I have fully synchronized with the monero blockchain on 0.9 beta windows.  These are inconsistencies I have noticed:

1) The private working set of memory is now manageable and small, unfortunately the whole working set is the same as in previous versions of bitmonerod. Around 8Gb and machine is struggling.

2) I now have a blockchain.bin of around 4.8Gb but also a Db file of another 10Gb which is unacceptable in storage terms.

3) The beta does not work with any of the gui versions but that is to be expected and I assume rectified shortly in development.

The speed of the sync was actually quite faster that I expected and there is good connectivity of nodes which is good as well.

Has anyone else running the beta code noticed issues similarly?

Let me try the 0.9 beta. I'll report back how I get on. Sorry about that, I could have sworn this had already been solved with binaries a while back. I must be losing it.

Just tried to search the thread but everyone here already knows its meh.

What is the status on the blockchain in memory issue? I could swear that was old news back in May but on a recent upgrade in client/gui I see my machine slow to a crawl and bitmonerod crash out. Has something unexpected happened? Any links?  Thanks much.
