supply issues or mining with the machines before sending them abroad, cheeky bastards lol

yea, may be they are upgrading their S9 farm to S17
3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces the Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17, and the Antminer T17 on: April 27, 2019, 12:51:10 AM
What happens if you plug them with the wires energized? When you plug the first and then the second.. I don't think this should be done, but given how some people operate their mines...

Next experiment; Would it turn on if you used two 120v from different phases (would it get the 208v from the two hots?). Theoretically speaking, of course, don't try this at home, in the name of science.

Yea i want to know, since it has two plugs, what happen if you plug directly one cable first to power point (the psu wont turn on?) and then the second cable (then the psu turn on?), so no need PDU switches.

with 2 plugs, how you guys power up? any on/off switch on the psu?
5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces the Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17, and the Antminer T17 on: April 09, 2019, 06:42:58 AM
Same, better wait till 1.5k or less...
6  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: January 11, 2019, 02:36:31 AM
Dang, I knew I should had wait a bit.

I paid 1.2k USD for the S15 (27Ths  Jan. 11-->)
and now they dropped the same batch price to 1k USD.

Fuck.

Price went back to 1.2k USD

Any review with S15? anyone has received it?

My 2 miners missing 1 chain. I try to upgrade firmware with SD card but it didn't work.
The red and green light didn't blink. Have anyone help everybody with youtube step by step.
It's very helpful for friends. Bitmain said not clear about power on control board , plug or unplug
cable with hashboard, offline or online with Lan.

send back to them the hashboard for repair.

How to run this miner with only 2 hashboards? since one was sent for repair. It keep looping "error" msg on mining status and wont hashing only using 2 hashboards. I cant update the firmware too (via WEB and SD card).
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Batch 1 - Shipping:16-31 July. $800 USD) on: September 11, 2018, 11:42:15 AM
3 chains gone here as well.

Followed all instructions provided by the Bitmain Support page to upgrade to latest firmware with SD flashing, but i wasn't able to flash the E3 somehow even i made it step by step as suggested.

Can someone that managed the flashing through SD card make a guide/tutorial step by step? Pretty sure the Bitmain guide misses something or it would have worked out, not?

Thx in advance.

It just does not work. Even Bitmain said, it does not work. The E3 was the worst miner so far.

So nobody managed to flash the SD card so far? Seriously?
I have flashed from SD yesterday.
1.Unzip and copy T9+ firmware fails to SD. https://file11.bitmain.com/shop-product/firmware/t9%2B%20-SD%20Tools.zip
2. Insert SD and move jumper.
3. Switch miner on and wait 30 sec till blinking of both status lights simultaneously.
4. Power miner off, remove SD and move jumper to its original location.
Now you have fully functional T9+ control board which can be flashed by the E3 firmware.
5. Download E3 Firmware : https://file11.bitmain.com/shop-product/firmware/Antminer%20E3/Firmware/0072018071812344880187tM1RPd0668/Antminer-E3-20180806.tar.gz
6. Power miner up.
7. In Upgrade page select downloaded E3 firmware for flashing, uncheck "Keep settings" checkbox and flash firmware.

So we need to use T9+ firmware first via SD card (flashed), then use E3 firmware on web?

Anyone has experience by updating the E3 firmware, it can fix the missing chain? i just dont get it. I think the hashboard has the problem (same as D3, missing chain cannot be fixed with updating the firmware).
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain E3 Ethash Miner ASIC (Shipping:16-31 July. $800 USD) on: September 10, 2018, 11:44:28 PM
Can anybody help me please? Why does my E3 not work at full capacity? I attached the photo. I do not understand the error "BB".  https://ibb.co/cdjfYK

Hey, I got the same issue, I opened a ticket and the support told to send the faulty board to them (It was only one chain which has the BB error), now the miner is working at 130~140H/S, pictures below.
I'm trying to get a free coupon from them to compensate for the missing days without the board but I know they will give nothing  Cheesy.

https://ibb.co/cSR3yU
https://ibb.co/nqw3yU

how you sent the board for repair? 1 hashboard has 6 asics boards on it (3 chains number ie 1,2,3 or 8,9,10 or 11,12,13). Mine is chain 11 is missing. One chain has 2 asics boards, so did you send whole 1 hashboard (6 asic boards)?

Does any one know how to flash Antminer E3 ??
IF i try web version get error : 413 - Request Entity Too Large

For SD card bitmain provide taz.gz file and not IMG.
How to flash E3 using SD card???

PLease help

So bitmain support was helpful.
Here is a manual for flashing Antminer E3 via SD card:
Quote
E3 and T9+ share the same control board. Please follow these steps to upgrade the firmware:
T9+ Control Board Program Recovery
https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007577214

and load the following E3 firmware: https://service.bitmain.com/support/download?product=Antminer%20E3

Antminer-E3-20180806.tar.gz

Althougth you upload upgrade firmware from web interface use Antminer-E3-20180806.tar.gz (without "WEB" in the name).

So we just use the Antminer-E3-20180806.tar.gz (without "WEB" in the name) file to upgrade via web?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini overclocked on: August 31, 2018, 03:06:40 PM
The most I can get out of my two Batch 2 machines is 687 (although 681 produces a higher hashrate) and 625. Anything over that and the third hashboard on both machines goes to 0 hashrate.

i just recived my 2nd batch. mine too. 3rd chain die at 681 or up. Cry Cry Cry

What hash rate are you getting at 681 or close. Do you get hw errors on any chains or does it just hash at 0 when you go at or over 681

same here... what about flashing the may 2018 firmware on to it?.... my batch 1 runs fine at 750..17 sols batch 2 one board dies above 675 freq.. 14 sols...

I'm wondering if bitmain hasn't cherry picked hashboards for the Z9s over the minis in this batch?
In theory I'll have a Z9 next week to see how (if?) it overclocks.

I wouldn't imagine their yield suddenly going down across the board on OC stability.
This makes sense. I'm at least 95% sure that the Z9 is just 2 minis combined with a much higher stock clock frequency. Classic silicon binning.

Just noticed Bitmains support page has a firmware upgrade for the Z9 that changes the frequency from 500 to 550...so no overclocking i guess?

https://service.bitmain.com/support/download?product=Antminer%20Z9

Edit: and the manual states it has a fixed frequency of 500 Mhz

What is the default freq for batch 2? 500mhz or 550??

Another overclock S9? with liquid cooler original S9 can crank up high freq i think..its cooler and silent

Anyone try on ethermine pool? is it working?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: June 09, 2018, 12:10:31 PM
When batch-one went up for sale I believe WTM said $40/day. It's now 5 weeks later and closer to $30/day. By the time most of batch-one gets tossed in the mail in 3 weeks it could be closer to $25/day? That would put ROI between 3-4 months. Even if batch-two arrived in Sept at around $15/day that would still be about 3x what GPUs pay-out at 300w - so batch-two could ROI in 2018.

But that's a complete guess on the daily returns, and is assuming ZEN+ZEC are both still around by the end year to prop up the current Equihash algo. Cross your fingers! Smiley

Being able to OC quite high will definitely help, too.

Plus the market is low now, so real profits will be almost double when the bull returns assuming you hold or convert to BTC.

how high you tried OC this Z3mini?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: June 08, 2018, 02:00:30 AM
Now i know why Bitmain reduced price Z3mini to $850 + drop coupons. This is the reason behind the price drop.

does it work on flypool for ZEC?
20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 04, 2018, 05:08:45 AM
Maybe a silly question, but does anybody know which fan (front or rear) is supposed to be on the board outside connector?
I cleaned all my miners, and they are different assembled.I know the fans are different, so it should be specific one on front and one for backside fan.

Anyone?

It doesnt matter which one is front/rear, as long you put the correct air flow position (the air one in and one out).
