1  Bitcoin / Armory / Does Armory use Bitcoin Core database? on: June 24, 2015, 04:37:30 AM
Or its own database? I'm trying to see how my Armory setup would scale in term of storage.

Basically If i install Armory that comes with BitcoinCore, where is the blockchain stored? Default Bitcoincore or Armory has its separate storage of blockchain.

If Armory use BitcoinCore database only, can i copy the blockchain folder (database) from another computer to quickly catch up with the current block?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: Satoshi Loyalists Upgrade to Bitcoin XT Before Deadline on: June 02, 2015, 04:28:29 AM
btw, Idiots, if you didnt figure out yet, MicroGuy is being fcktard playing with you all. Hes an anti-bitcoin piece of shit.

I really like this new drama so far. shaken all the scumbags whos in this to be rich. I like to stack up my coins.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Core or XT, you dont have to choose NOW. Dont bother with the poll.... on: May 31, 2015, 10:02:05 PM
God damn this forums must be all newbies or what? I had to log in to make this thread to stop all the nonsense from you newbies for the past few days. Let me break it down to you what is happening, and why a fork might not be a fork!

+ You currently dont have to choose Core or XT, both are just wallet clients using the same database (blockchain)

+ You can run both wallet clients if you dont know to support blocksize increase or not

+ Gavin and Dev core using 2 clients to sort out the consensus of the network, who will support blocksize increase and who wont.

+ As the XT becomes 90% of bitcoin nodes, Gavin will implement the blocksize increase. This is like soft fork, you will know by then because i'm sure all major bitcoin services will announce they will support the blocksize increase or not.

+ The Core will be obsoleted and the bitcoin network has reached the consensus.

Here is the BS being spread around here:

- You can sell your coins of weaker chain : NO you WONT, i can tell you no exchange will support a weaker chain and risking their business
- Price will be halved because you now have doubled your coins: No it wont, because you cant sell coins on the weaker change on any exchanges. Unless you can find some retard on the forums to sell to, and if you can, you should fork your own bitcoins now and be rich.

Gavin's proposal is to increase pressure on decision making of the Core team. As at the current pace, we will not have enough time left and bitcoin network will face bottleneck. The damages might be too great then and risk all investors involved.

I think this is a brilliant idea. Everyone (bitcoiners) will learn about this and start voting. Look at how many confused members on here, i think it works already.

4  Bitcoin / Armory / What is my option for 12.04+ Ubuntu 32bit? on: March 21, 2015, 05:25:52 PM
I'm using it for offline wallet. From what i gather so far, only 0.92.3 works for 32bit (Ubuntu 12.04 +  , I plan to run 14.04 LTS 32bit)

What features i'm missing if my online wallet is 0.93.1? or is it fully compatible?

Also can i copy my current blockchain database to the new online wallet (i've heard newest Armory dont use the same database structure...)

Should i get a new pc to run 64bit for next version of offline wallet? or something in the works that can still work with 32bit?

Thanks

6  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-02-20] CS: Stripe Now Lets All Merchants Accept Bitcoin on: February 20, 2015, 09:38:48 PM
Wow that's awesome and it's not a bullshit rumour as well, thanks for posting this up, looks like while we're not necessarily attracting tons of merchants yet all the payment processors seem to be coming on board.

I wish we can have a list of all the large merchants whats using Stripe. I want to know which one i'm a customer of so i can email them to enable this feature. Its no longer a " new method of payment" to them. So i hope they can see no downside this time.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Ban in Hong-Kong on: February 20, 2015, 09:36:30 PM
Don't you  just love the disconnect in logic?

Just like spoons should be banned because they help drug dealers create drugs or brief cases need to be banned because sometimes they are used to transport drugs and other illegal susbstances.

 Cheesy

you should not expect any logic from politician. They're using all tactics to get votes .... from sheep.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Four Strikes Against Bitcoin on: February 20, 2015, 09:34:47 PM
Its funny to see a lawyer trying to use "law" as if its god's spell.

Being too stupid to understand the law aside, law is made by ppl from their currecnt understanding of matters.

Law once said, " no gay or lesbian on this earth" I guess that means we should jail every gay marriage then? No human evolves and so is their mind and understanding of universe.

Stupid lawyer can read books all day and try to pick words to make it sound like they're contributing to the world.

Smart lawyer however strike to see how the law is created and thus will challenge it if need to.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Four Strikes Against Bitcoin on: February 20, 2015, 09:04:46 PM
US Banks are conducting a lottery under your interpretation of law. They receive interest as a prize for payment processing.

Incorrect.  I agree that banks do receive interest as a fee or "prize" for payment processing.  However, they do not randomly select who gets payment processing and who does not - there is no "chance" selection of customers.  Everybody who submits a request for payment gets equal service.  No element of "chance", no lottery.

The real argument is Consideration.  In legal theory, "Consideration" does not apply since no one is purchasing from the one running this lottery.

Incorrect.  Consideration is not about a "player" (mining) OBTAINING something of value from a "lottery runner" (Bitcoin).  Consideration is about the "lottery runner" (Bitcoin) RECEIVING something of value from the "player" (miner) - namely, the addition of a block to the blockchain from a single miner that it designates as a ten-minute "winner".

Thank you for thinking this through instead of just insulting me.  You will eventually conclude that legally I am right, as uncomfortable as that will be to admit.

ahhaha what a dumb fuck. Dont tell me you actually pass your bar exam. This is why most lawyers are only able to sign documents for money. Rarely they even understand what the fuck the law says, how its created ...
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CNN Inside Man bitcoin episode review! Share your opinions! on: February 20, 2015, 08:54:00 PM
I almost puked when that Senator said how we need to arrest and bring to justice those who steal from people. Well you politicians didn't do so well arresting those so far involved with known billion dollar financial crimes. Was that the FED he was stood outside?

Well he has a point tho. If nothing is done exchanges will keep bailing out.

The point is hes a hypocrite, that makes his whole credit means shit.

You cant collectively choose to enforce law on only one group of ppl while turn your eyes blind on others. If you look at the damages alone, financial crimes from banks and cooperation alone is 1000x the bitcoin marketcap alone!

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CNN Inside Man bitcoin episode review! Share your opinions! on: February 20, 2015, 08:49:20 PM
Gotta love the senator..... ban it because its used for drugs.... yet USD is not banned?

"Its something that Fed Reserve should regulate, just like our currency"

" but our currency is bad right now"

" at least we know its bad "

Who the fuck vote for this guy?

Hes dumb no doubt but his supporters must be beyond dumb.

15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Someone try hard to keep pressure Bitcoin price on: February 10, 2015, 05:00:54 PM
Why don't you believe it's the most free market and the price don't need to be go upwards all the time? When Mycoin was hacked, of course Coindesk make it in the news, it's their job (They are news site in case you didn't know). Your conspiracy theory is so funny that I can't even argue with it.

cant blame OP , the so called news reporter nowadays write dump shit or just copy and paste from other BS news.

If thats how Coindesk operates, then its just another shitty click bait news site.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: WTH is happening over at Coinbase exchange? on: February 10, 2015, 07:11:23 AM
why the fuck they dont want to give data on volume and order book?

So much for transparency huh?

Such a joke,
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people think cheap of those who say they want to get rich from bitcoin! on: February 10, 2015, 07:07:41 AM
If someone wish to become rich and get into financial freedom by investing in bitcoin!

They are often looked down cheaply like

"lazy ones trying to get rich by doing nothing"

"bitcoin is to spend and it is not an investment to get rich or a get rich quick  scheme"

People often hate those who want to become rich and are labelled greedy!

Why is this so?

It seems as if those who do not have the brains or skills to be innovative with bitcoin should not dream of becoming rich!

why so?

because they're scum with no contribution. Its the same reason i look down on Indian fucks with no manners in public (also smells like shit most of the time)

Enough for you Appu?

18  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: February 10, 2015, 06:33:40 AM
Please explain, WHY are we still using PCIe connectors?

Why not give terminal points, insert wire and secure, Let me run 8awg wire straight in, less wire.

Time we move away from crappy pcie Smiley

a better question would be WHY should anyone gives a shit about home mining. The industry has already moved away from bunch of PSU lying around with wires everywhere.

SP20 is the last home miner. Look at SP10-SP3x. Not a single wire, all straight from PCB.
19  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Pics of Large Miner Hosting Center Under Construction on: February 07, 2015, 04:31:49 AM
Funny how people want to centralize every aspect of Bitcoin.  I say if these mining centers are profitable at $40 per BTC, I hope the price falls to $20 per BTC.  This type of centralization to enrich the pockets of a few is exactly what Bitcoin is against.  I'm constantly surprised by people's willingness to kill what they love in the name of greed.

You gotta read between the lines....in fact even btc price drop to $0, they're still profitable. Its the suckers that pay hosting fee take the lost.

Its funny how he said that in a cocky manner.... prove how dump general bitcoin miners his suckers are.... They paid for something with a hope to gain back what they spent.
20  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New diff thread Jan 27th to Feb 11 (-5.73%) to (+0.09%) on: February 06, 2015, 08:26:46 PM
It's gonna be tough all round with BTC holding in the low $200's and diff looking like it's going up again  Sad

Its even tougher for ppl holding their miners hoping to get ROI.

Phillipma's opinion does not count because he got "free" electricity with his rent. I feel bad for ppl who just bought some miners tho....

I do love  you Mr Seriouscoin I also am grateful for the lack of obscenities in your post.

I have 2 s-3's at discounted power at my friends office  they are 2.4 cents a kwatt

I have 2 s-5's in china I pay about 9 cents a kwatt for them

I have 9 sp20's in house 1 pay 13 cents per hour with  winter rates  the heat they generate warms my home and drops the cost to 10 cents per hour

I have 1 s-5 in house same deal the rate are 13 cents adjust to 10 cents for the heat.

In no way does that count as free power.

At this point in time home mining would be over if it was June 30 as my summer rates are 16 cents with no heat benefits.

These numbers are very hard for me to sustain mining .  I may move my miners to a wash DC location and go partners on the power bill.

Didnt you say in other thread that you're happy because the electricity is included ?

You're probably the only old miner that is still buying miners recently to maximize your mining capacity...at home.
