let me know your opinion folks is too old  Roll Eyes

LOL! What does age have to do with investing in bitcoin? You only need money to invest. And usually young people have less money and less patience than older people, so the older you get the better you'll become at investments not the other way around.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I think it's wrong on: January 10, 2023, 05:31:19 AM
I think it's wrong to compare the old bear market history with the future bear market.

It's not identical, but it's still a bear market followed by a bull market that starts after the halving. So if you don't try to time the exact bottom, the big picture is predictable.

Interesante produsele.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sigh... Do i need to hold and sell it later or now? Quite tricky situation. on: January 25, 2020, 10:48:23 AM
If one trader's opinion matters to you then you should know this:

- Not much chances to go above 9K in February.
- In March it will probably wiggle between 6k and 8k or even go lower.
- Selling now is the best thing to do.
But there are speculations that after the halving the price of the bitcoin will rise. So probably if this scenario will happen we can earn a lot of money probably on April or May. So definitely nobody knows if this will be possible but it is much better if we dont believe the hype and let this scenario happen in the future coz if we expect too much we will probably hurt so much if this would be happen.

I know about the halving speculations, but that doesn't happen right away. It took 1 year to reach ATH after first halving, and took 17-18 months after the second halving. So it's not like some big bullrun will happen anytime soon. A bump in April in anticipation, at most, but then he can buy on the dump right after and play the next long term bull market without missing anything really.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Selling milk tea for Bitcoin on: January 23, 2020, 12:46:46 PM
You know why? Coz’ no matter how I suggest something to my dad that would be a game-changer

Unless you're selling milk tea at a big crypto event, and even then... hmm.. it's not really a game-changer. There are a few issues here:

- Not many people have BTC.
- Most of the people who have BTC are hodlers, so they won't buy.
- The people who don't hold, either buy other coins and trade them, lose the money, or cash out and they probably won't have time to buy milk tea in the meantime.

It may be a nice idea, but not practical. One thing you could do is make a local crypto group and advertise to them, maybe a few will buy eventually.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have anyone come across this? Whether it is a true currency or fake one....? on: January 23, 2020, 12:30:50 PM
Today while making a conversation with my friend I said about bitcoin and its price in terms of USD. This was quite high and no other currency has got such a high value. To me he responded sending an image that I've posted here. He doesn't know which country this currency belongs, but he mentioned whatever the value might be surely it'll be higher than bitcoin. Have any of you knew about such currencies with such a big value.

That's a note from the hyperinflation era in Yugoslavia. The biggest note was 500 billions Cheesy, you can still find the set for sale, but includes around 50 notes and is sold for like 20 bucks. So, worthless.

Maybe your friend bought it from a crook and realized it's worthless and now tries to sell it too. Don't buy it!

Interesant.

Un an? Pe viață?

Mersi

12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there a place to get updates on the latest trading info? on: April 14, 2017, 12:06:49 PM
So I know that everybody probably wants this kind of information and few people want to deal it out, but I was wondering if there is a place that that I could get updates on the latest trading info (things like promising coins coming out, updates getting pushed, sudden hype, etc).

Not right now, at least not something mainstream, but I think such a service will eventually exist, once enough people are willing to pay for it.
13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you deal with loss? on: April 14, 2017, 10:24:00 AM
So in trading how do you deal with loss? For example you've invested in an alt and now it has fallen quite hard and you're on the brink of losing all your bitcoin you invested in it.
How do you actually deal with it? Do you wait and keep on waiting in hope that it will bounce back up and return your investment or you sell and get whatever left of your investment?

I sometimes wait to go back up again and most of the times I cut the losses quickly. It depends on the technicals. But I try as much as I can to not panic sell.

Loses are really tough in the beginning. But they are a part of trading, so the way I got used to coping with loses is: never invest an amount that I am not willing to lose.  With good bankroll management rules, loses shouldn't affect you anymore, it will be just the cost of doing business (in case you have a trading strategy) or the cost of having fun (in case you are just gambling).

Try to imagine the sum of money that would feel uncomfortable to lose and then trade just a half of it. We all have different tolerance to the amount we are willing to lose.
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What does "shorting" really mean? on: April 14, 2017, 10:06:32 AM
Does the term "short" imply that you are leveraging/margin trading? Or can short mean simply selling, waiting then re-buying cheaper?

I have always been confused about it.

Yes it implies margin trading. You cannot short by just selling, because it's a sophisticated process done by the broker consisting of borrowing, selling and repurchasing.
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How i can Start Trading !!!! on: April 14, 2017, 09:33:46 AM
I am Annie ...

Hi Annie, I'm sure you learned some things from dice trading (hopefully bankroll management) that you can use in trading alts.

First, I agree with the advice below:

I would advise you to start practical trading with low amounts and do that more frequently. Make sure you pick the right pair for trade because there are more than 600 altcoins at this moment and most of them are going to end up with a loss so be careful while choosing a pair.

Here's how you can learn how to trade:

1. Set a small budget and deposit to more than 1 exchange (e.g. poloniex, kraken, btc-e).
2. Pick an altcoin that is not very hyped, but has some volume, and try to do a test trade.
3. Watch the orderbook and try to observe how people trade (this is to get a basic understanding of how it works not to mimic them - assume that they are losing).
4. Start learning the basics of technical analysis (you can learn the basics in a few days) and practice making your own analysis on places like BitcoinWisdom, CryptoWat.ch, TradingView.
5. Start making trades based on technical analysis, and don't risk too much at once (use solid bankroll management).
6. Don't pour more of your own money into it. Try to survive with your starting bankroll and reinvest all profits.

This is how you get started. If you can make it a habit like dice, your skill will definitely improve and you should become profitable.

Good luck!
16  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your trading strategy? on: April 14, 2017, 08:37:02 AM
I have some experience trading and for me, the best results in crypto have come with a medium and long term trading strategy and swing trading on the side. By medium I mean about 1 trade per month. I also do swing trading in alts (2-3 trades per week) but with a smaller percentage of the portfolio. I also tried margin trading and I advise anyone doing it to learn technical analysis and use MT4 for BTC-e, like someone here suggested earlier. However if you are new I don't recommend any intra-day margin trading at all, because a 3.5% dip in BTC like yesterday, could touch your stop losses (if you even have a stop loss, in which case it could be worse depending on your leverage). Surely, if that can be bad for bitcoin, you can imagine how bad it can be in alts, where price can easily drop 10% - 20% in a day.

I avoid margin trading in my strategy. I find trading crypto more similar to traditional Wall Street than Forex, so picking alts is a big part of my strategy. Part of picking an alt has to do with technical analysis in my case, so basically I'm looking for bullish alts with low potential of a bubble. I do not trade based on fundamental analysis, because unless it's something like the halving or anything obvious, I assume that any inside information is not going to be known, so it is imperative to use technical analysis and I think anyone trading crypto should at least learn the basics (even if they don't do margin trading).

For the most part I am managing the bad trades and cutting loses, because in my case the profitable trades usually need longer periods of time before I take profits. So for my swinging strategy, I get out of around 3 unprofitable trades and 1 profitable trade. This overall has proven profitable for me because I pick low risk high reward trades. I am thinking about trying a high risk, low reward type strategy (which I don't recommend for new people, unfortunately they tend to like these ones a lot) as soon as I get more time, and maybe I'll provide more details.
