1  Other / MultiBit / Multibit Classic - Transaction still pending after 5 days on: March 16, 2016, 09:39:22 AM
Hi,

I see that many other people are having a similar issue - mine is slightly different.

I have an old PC installation that I am trying to move my BTC from, from Multibit Classic 0.5.16 on the old installation, to Multibit HD on the new PC. I first of all tried to move them via backing up files etc and using Multibit Classic on the new PC - that went horribly wrong and the BTC disappeared for a while but came back after many resets of blockchain info etc.

I then decided to simply send the BTC from the old wallet in Multibit Classic to the new one. I did a test transaction as advised - this worked fine. I then sent the rest, and this is has now been 'stuck' for 5 days.

It first of all stated 'seen by 1 peer' and appears to increase this number every time I restart Multibit Classic. I tried the next day, so it went up to 'seen by 2 peers' and I have tried periodically over recent days. It is now up to 'seen by 7 peers'. However, when checking on blockchain.info, it still says 'transaction not found'.

So...I don't know what to do...do I still keep waiting days or weeks? I appreciate the fee is low with Multibit Classic, but the test worked fine so I assumed 'the rest' would too. Clearly not.

So do I keep restarting Multibit Classic in the hope that it will keep retransmitting the transaction and will eventually work....or do I now assume that this is not going to work, and start the 'reset blockchain and transactions' routine, and go down that route?

Any help appreciated...many thanks in advance!

Cheers
Tim

Do you have the Multibit.key file aswell ? if yes then it's pretty simple, just do as it says here : https://multibit.org/en/help/v0.5/help_movingAWallet.html the Moving from MultiBit to Blockchain.info part .

Thanks for the tip but unfortunately not. The "key-backup" folder is empty.
3  Other / MultiBit / Moving wallet in Multibit Classic 0.5.16 - somehow lost all BTC and wallet on: August 25, 2015, 09:45:00 AM
Hi,

Really hoping someone can help please.

I moved my old Multibit Classic wallet files ages ago from a laptop to a desktop PC. Also moved my Litecoin wallet. Litecoin seemed to want me to just move all the wallet files from the default location on the laptop to the same place on the desktop, and then sync, and this worked fine. I also moved my multibit wallet like this successfully.

I recently tried this again, as I upgraded my desktop PC. Unfortunately, this has not worked this time and all my BTC appears to be gone Sad

All I did was...boot old PC, sync (verified that there was the correct amount of BTC in my wallet)...copy the entire folder containing the .wallet file to a USB stick. Install the same multibit classic client on new PC (0.5.16) and copy over the default files with my old .wallet files etc.

I synced...it took ages and at the end of this sync...it told me I had 0 BTC.

I re-read the instructions of what the moving wallet process was...and realised that i should have just copied them to a new location on the new PC, and just opened them. I tried this too, and this also does not work.

So I thought....I will just send them from my old wallet on my old PC to a new wallet on my new PC. Booted the old PC again without changing anything, and that also shows 0 BTC now as well!

So...the action of me syncing on the new PC has somehow wiped my wallet, or broken it or something, as nothing has changed on the old PC...and yet that now shows empty too.

I can check my old wallet address on the blockchain and it is still there, and there are no new transactions showing, but I now seem to have no way of accessing it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated please!

Many thanks...
Tim
