So, it has been two years since the last post in here... During this time, has anyone developed a decent gambling strategy for .01 - 1.0 BTC bankrolls yet? Grin And yes, I know we always lose in the end and the house always wins etc. lol, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I like the occational gamble, and it is fun to discuss strategies!

I see that you have made alive an old thread so let me crush your dreams. Smiley

I don't that this has happened and I don't think that will ever happen. There are no strategies. In the long run, casino will always win. It has been like that since forever. In the short run, or by a crazy luck, yes you can win and this is exactly what all gamblers are chasing, this string of crazy luck.

I don't think I am that lucky just like I don't think that I am that unlucky that the plane I board will crash. That's why I stay away from gambling.

haha, thanks for the good answer  Smiley I know, you are mathematically right, but it's still a thrill to go on gambling frenzies, so long as not too much money is risked! Oh, the excitement of seeing those green numbers accumulating... and then that hollow, empty and lonely feeling when the bankroll reads 0... lol.

I finally got my first bitcoins today (faucet waste of time, but it was something to start with).

I also decided to play with with this betting strategy since I had the teeniest tiniest amount. Things went about as I expected they would. It doubled. It doubled again! It... yup... it's gone.

Everytime I see one of these betting system ideas I love to get out my spreadsheets and play around with the numbers. You can do quite well at times, but if you don't stop at those times, you will have a bad time.

I literally created my first wallet this week and started using faucets last night. I am quickly coming to the realization that it isn't worth my time. I may do a few more rounds to hit the faucetbox threshhold and get my first bits in my wallet, but that may be the end of my 1 day faucet experience.

It's a problem I can understand. Once you have that much money, how do you find people that like you for YOU and not for what you have? The motives of every person that wants to be your friend suddenly become suspect. It's not like you can't find real friendship, but it would be surprisingly difficult.

This should be a sticky post.

Most people believe they know what a bitcoin is... specially since people talk about mining... as if mining creates coins.. instead of rewarding mining with coins... which is nothing like mining at all.

Care to explain double spending? Using the same scenario?

While at it, it wouldn't hurt to explain "mining" too.

Thanks OP!

This was me up until this week. My perception of 'mining' was so off it is almost laughable. I'm new to the whole adventure as of this week (despite hearing about bitcoin since it started), and my basic assumptions are undergoing some massive shifts.

As someone just getting into BTC (these would be my first), I am definitely interested. PM is on the way!
