After 13 years wearing the black and yellow uniform, Matt Hummels will part ways with Dortmund this summer and he will leave as a free agent. It's sad to see that his loyalty with Dortmund has ended and he has gone as a club legend. Even though he went back and forth from Dortmund to Bayern Munich and back again to Dortmund, he still became an important part of Dortmund. I didn't expect one of the best center backs of this generation to be gone.

But it is true that he is already 35 years old and therefore regeneration is really needed for the Dortmund squad. Maybe after this Dortmund will immediately look for a replacement in the summer and I hope they make the right recruitment for their new center back candidate. It's a shame that at the end of his career with Dortmund he appeared impressive, especially when he was able to take Dortmund to the Champions League final and in my opinion, defenders of his age are very rarely consistent.

Alot of the sentiment on this thread over the last few days have been largely centered on Madrid winning the title for the second time in a row. As much as they're the true kings of the tournament and are in a really great place right now where they can perform and compete with any team right now, I'm not 100% certain that they can win it yet. A lot of twists and turns are gonna be there and like all football games, the best teams don't always win and I can see that happening with Madrid. There are teams that could still handle them well in the UCL.

My options are still open even though my default, biased choice is going to be Liverpool.
If it's not Real Madrid then it's likely Manchester City will be the next champions because these two teams are the only ones who have clear prospects of winning the Champions League title. Maybe other teams have the same chance to win the title, it's just that if one of them faces one of Real Madrid or Manchester City in the final then everything will be in vain.

I don't mean to belittle but everything is very clear with the great coaches and also the depth of the squad that these two teams have. In my opinion, Liverpool still can't compete to win the title at the moment because they still have to adapt to their new coach, Arne Slot, and as long as Liverpool still entrusts the striker position to Darwin Nunez, it won't work.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: Today at 01:19:59 PM

Manchester United played quite badly in the league last season. But at least Ten Hag can give United the FA title. This is not a great achievement and management can fire Ten Hag. But as you say it will be very difficult to find another manager and the club board will have to make a new bet with a new manager. And I see that Ten Hag has tried to give his best for United. United has had many problems this season such as player injuries. So I think we can see United playing better next season.
From the start, the problems at Manchester United were very complex and every season there were always more varied problems and for some reason this team seemed to have bad luck. However, I am sure that any team that makes real progress will get what they have planted.

Manchester United is quite unlucky because they have nothing to highlight during this season so they are still the same as a big team that failed to even win the FA title at the last minute. Erik ten hag is a coach who should be given more opportunities and maybe if everything goes smoothly then Manchester United next season can overcome all the existing obstacles and if this time the recruitment of new players meets the club's needs it will be able to support their performance.

It seems like Girona has already made their first signing of the summer, Ladislav Krejci. Fabrizio Romano has tweeted about the details of the signing.

https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1801357419815084092

It is a 12 million euros package. Krejci is mainly a centre-back but he has been like a goal machine.  Cheesy  11 goals and 7 assists in total in the past season and 13 goals in the prior season. He is able to play as a defensive midfielder at the same time. I think he is a wonderful transfer for Girona in short. It looks like they have no intention to have a weaker squad next time.  Smiley

The next target is Luciano Rodríguez from Liverpool Montevideo. He seems like a talented attacker who can play as a winger and centre-forward both.
It's only natural that Girona moved quickly to get a new center back because Aleix Garcia has already joined Leverkusen this summer. This left the main center back position vacant so Girona's decision to sign Krejci from Sparta Prague was the right one. However, what still amazes me is that his goal contribution is almost the same as that of an attacker and it seems that every time there is a free kick or corner kick he can always score a goal from that process.

Of course, Girona wants to repeat the same success this season and at least they can compete in the top four again, therefore they must optimize strengthening from all sides. However every season will present great battles and Girona does not want to have a bad season after what they did this season.

Quite surprising news came from Marseille where they will reach an agreement with former Brighton coach De Zerbi. Actually, I'm not quite sure about this, but seeing that Marseille this season is far from expectations and not like last season, it is very feasible for them to think about looking for a new coach to replace Jean-Louis Gasset.

In recent months, De Zerbi has been rumored to be close to several clubs, but that has not happened and now it is Marseille who have come to recruit him. Maybe he could be the right solution for Marseille next season and Marseille's consistency could be repeated. This season Marseille only managed to finish in 8th position and I don't think that's a good result for them. Therefore, significant changes are needed and I think management is taking the right steps.

Source: https://www.sportitalia.it/2024/06/13/esclusiva-si-de-zerbi-vicino-all-olympique-marsiglia/
Yes, it is true that Marseille is reportedly very close to coach De Zerbi to make an offer to become coach and of course this news is very much discussed among football fans, especially for Ligue 1.
Seeing his performance with Brighton is actually not very satisfying, but for some reason Marseille has an interest in De Zerbi.
Marseille itself this season also experienced setbacks and they finished in the middle ranking, previously Marseille was strong enough team, they were able to show competitive competition and could compete with several big Ligue 1 team.
This season there are lot of changes, Ligue 1 has teams that were initially not that dominant and have been able to show an improvement in the quality of their play to the point of shifting down some of the top team that have always dominated.

Yes, the hope is that what each team does can really bring development in much better direction, making Ligue 1 league that has good competition and matches.
Before reaching an agreement with De Zerbi, Marseille must redeem his clause of 6 million euros and after all the conditions are completed De Zerbi will immediately be announced as the new coach. I think the development is quite positive and I think De Zerbi is worthy enough to handle Marseille. Even though this season has not been very good with Brighton, we cannot equate this regarding performance because since last season they have lost several important players so the results have not been optimal.

However, I welcome how De Zerbi will perform with Marseille and we will see whether he is able to improve Marseille's performance with the depth of the current squad. Regarding the Ligue One competition, I would actually be happy if there were significant changes from the newcomer teams and that would make the competition even more lively. But maybe Ligue One will be less popular if they don't bring in any more star players.

Both Real Madrid and Chelsea were trying hard to hire Pedro Lima the young Brazilian player for the next season.
Since he is a 17-year-old player, he can be a good investment for the team he joins there and he can play there for years and become a superstar player because of the experience he has. While considering the power of Real Madrid I was expecting to see Real Madrid hire this player but this time it seems Chelsea won the race and they are very close to signing the contract with this player.

https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/transfer-news/pedro-lima-transfer-update-emerges-29341493
I just heard this name and he seems quite promising. But I don't think Real Madrid will take him considering the depth of their squad is already so good. But if Real Madrid want to take him and loan him to another club, that could still happen. We know that Real Madrid often does this for its young players.

On the other hand, it would be much more useful if Pedro Lima just joined Chelsea because the team still needs improvement for next season and it is felt that his abilities will be quite helpful for the Blues. Apart from that, of course the EPL would be much better off increasing their intensity as players and competing for the main places.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Season on: June 13, 2024, 02:46:26 PM
Dude, what do you think of Dortmund next season? They lost in the final round this season and that should make their motivation even greater to avenge their failure. They have lost twice in the final, the first time against Bayern Munich and the last time against Real Madrid. Their efforts were very good to reach the final but their luck was less fortunate when they had to face a prestigious team full of history in the Champions League.
They will end up like Inter, they were able to reach final in the last season, but they lose in round of 16. Dortmund and Inter are both of teams that very lucky can enter to final in Champions League, so don't expect anything in the next season.

Next season will be interesting since Leverkusen and Bologna are joining the race.
I agree and it feels very difficult to repeat the same luck. Dortmund has indeed struggled very well this season but of course luck is also an important factor in the team's success. Moreover, being able to reach the final round was never even imagined for them before. So as you said, Dortmund will find it difficult to compete next season.

The arrival of new teams will definitely make the competition more difficult to predict and sometimes these new arrivals can provide unexpected surprises. Leverkusen and Bologna could have reached at least the round of 16 but it feels like if they advance to the semifinals or final they will need more luck and because of that I think luck is the key to everything that happens in this competition apart from the hard work they put in.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: June 13, 2024, 02:33:29 PM
This is definitely a great addition, I think having a great goalkeeper will make it great, Ronaldo played with him too if I remember correctly so the chemistry hopefully would be a good one, I am sure they asked him before they made this sign, and he was probably happy about it.

Now they need better defense, if they could just spend a little bit more money and hire a few defenders then they are going to be quite great, they are not great at defense, and their midfield is decent too, their offense is great, they just need to get some centre backs for sure. That is not an easy thing because we are talking about a place that rarely has good enough players. VVD seems to be on the market, Liverpool looking to offload him, maybe they could get him if they offer a lot of money?
It still seems quite difficult for Al-Nassr to approach Van Dijk and I think like Mohammed Salah, who has been rumored since last season, there is no clarity until now whether he wants to join a Saudi league team. Liverpool really looks after their players and it is very difficult for other teams to touch them. Even though Saudi clubs have the power to bring him in with money, it seems like his loyalty to his proud club is still very high and very difficult to break.

Maybe Al-Nassr really needs to look for a strong defender and I think that is their current focus before the competition starts. Maybe Ronaldo will contact former teammates like Varane, who parted ways with Manchester United after his contract expired this season.

Bilbao have extended Ander Herrera's contract for another season and it seems that the club management still trusts him to strengthen the midfield next season. The former Manchester United player is no longer young and therefore Bilbao only gave him a short contract extension before he left as a free agent.

Ander Herrera is certainly very happy with this decision and he will give everything in his final season with Bilbao. Apart from that, Bilbao failed to play in the Champions League but at least they can still participate in the European League next season. I think after this Ander Herrera if he doesn't retire then he can try another adventure in MLS or the Saudi league to get a bigger salary.

Here we go!!!

Since Arsenal failed to acquire Sesko from Leipzig, it is because Sesko chose to sign a new contract with RB Leipzig rather than leave the club. Arsenal has now shifted its focus to another target. Some targets have been linked to arsenal. The list of these potential strikers being targeted by arsenal is provided below:

1. Zirkzee.
2. Evan Ferguson.
3. Viktor Gyokeres.

Arteta is eager to sign a new striker because Arsenal's current attackers are unable to assist the club win the Premier League trophy. A redesign is required to boost Arsenal's forwards' potential to score as many goals as possible in the coming season.

I believe Zirkzee is striker that will complement Arteta's strategy. This is why I'm picking him above Evan from Brighton or Gyokeres from Sporting CP. What are your thoughts regarding this, guys?

Arsenal were unlucky this time with their failure to recruit Benjamin Sesko, but at least they still have many options to choose a striker for next season. From the names you mentioned, I think all of them have the capacity to be able to do their job according to their position. But I doubt which is the right choice for Arsenal.

If I'm not mistaken, Victor Gyokeres was rumored to be with Arsenal from the start, but Sporting Lisbon seems to want him to stay and this depends on how Arsenal can make a decent offer for him. On the other hand, Evan Ferguson did perform very well with Brighton but it only lasted one season and his inconsistency would only make Arsenal feel at a loss. For Zirkzee, perhaps he has been a shining figure this season with Bologna and I think it is quite worthy to consider him as Arsenal's new striker. However, I doubt whether Bologna will want to let go of one of its key players and of course Bologna will ask for a fee that is not cheap.

The Brazilian club Palmeiras is indeed a producer of talented young players and previously we would have known that their players like Endrick joined Real Madrid and Estevao chose to join Chelsea. This makes West Ham not want to be left behind and they have just announced the signing of a new player from Palmeiras, namely Luis Guilherme.

He is still very young at 18 years old and plays as a midfielder and this is West Ham's first signing under the tutelage of their new coach Julen Lopetegui. West Ham provided their own atmosphere in the EPL last season, but this season they experienced a deadlock and had to fire David Moyes. Now they seem to be focusing on young players and of course with an experienced coach like Julen Lopetegui it is hoped that the results will be optimal. Well, good luck on your new journey Luis Guilherme.

Hot news now, terzic has decided to step down as dortmund's coach. A few months ago, i've heard that if terzic has a conflict against clubs bosses. It's not surprising me to see terzic decides to leave from borrusia dortmund instead of stay for another season there.
Terzic has been helping dortmunt a lot when he was still dortmund's coach.

Terzic's position as a head coach is now empty. Im only thinking a few candidates to fulfill his positions at this moment.

1. Nuri Sahin
2. Roger Schmidt
3. Will still

Do you guys have more candidates to become the next coach for borrusia dortmund?
Edin Terzic is a good coach and thanks to him, Dortmund was able to reach the Champions League final. It's just that maybe the club owner doesn't really like the achievements in the Bundesliga, which are quite minor this season. Moreover, with the conflict, as you say, everything makes sense as to why he left Dortmund.

It is very unfortunate with this departure even though Dortmund could have corrected the existing mistakes and next season they should be able to perform impressively with Edin Terzic. Regarding his replacement, I think Dortmund are still considering the candidates and to be honest they don't have much time before the season restarts. Of the three coaches you mentioned, I don't think anyone is up to standard as a Dortmund coach and of course the club owner will look for a more proportional coach. For Will Still, he has officially become Lens coach in the French league so his name will not be on Dortmund's radar.

The arrival of Thiago Motta as a new coach will start a new era for La Vechia Signora and we will no longer see a fairly monotonous game from Allegri. I really appreciate Allegri's service over the years at Juventus, but his time is now over. This season was the last time he made Juventus unable to be consistent and lose in the competition that was clearly in front of their eyes.

Apart from that, it is certainly not easy for a young coach like Thiago Motta to handle a big team like Juventus, but what we saw before by bringing Bologna to finish in 5th position and giving them a place in the Champions League is an extraordinary achievement. It is not easy with the limited depth of the squad, he was able to transform Bologna into an unexpected team this season. There is still a very long way to go for Thiago Motta and I can't wait to see his debut with Juventus next season.

PSG had three superstar players on the team and they tried their best to have a better performance in the Champions League but still, they couldn't do that and even the players they had like Messi left the team. I think now after Mbappe leaves, they will have bigger problems but as Enrique said, they will try to fill the place of Mbappe in the team by using all the players they have by having better teamwork.

Enrique also said that they need to learn to play without Mbappe. In fact, they had a very good season, considering that the team was left without Messi and Neymar, they even had to beat Dortmund, but it happened as it happened. I’m almost sure that PSG will be able to replace Mbappe with someone as good as him, new young players are constantly appearing who are capable of playing no worse and they will become new star strikers.

I see a lot of talk that PSG can buy Vinicius and I have no doubt that they can afford it. It will even be a retaliatory move if this happens, I think that Vinicius can be a top forward at PSG.
Slowly but surely PSG succeeded in answering the doubts that existed when their star players left one by one but they still remained strong and could still produce the best results. Moreover, under the guidance of an experienced coach like Luis Enrique, this is very possible and we can see it this season.

I'm sure next season will still be the same and if it's just for all competitions in France they will still be the favorites as winners, but for the Champions League it's still quite far away. Regarding Vinicius going to PSG, I don't think it will be possible even though PSG can afford to buy him at such a large cost, but Real Madrid will still keep the player, especially since he is already a star at Real Madrid and of course working with his colleagues to win other titles.

Maybe it's time for Barcelona to let go of one of their players and this time Newcastle are interested in signing Ferran Torres. Newcastle offered a fee of 20 million euros including bonuses for Barcelona but I think this offer is quite low considering Ferran Torres' market value is 30 million euros. Maybe Newcastle can increase the fee a little more so that Barcelona wants to let him go.

On the other hand, Barcelona certainly knows this is an opportunity to increase their increasingly poor financial resources and at least they have the funds to buy players under the tutelage of their new coach Hansi Flick. Moreover, even though Ferran Torres has recently been getting quite a lot of playing minutes, his overall performance is still lacking.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: June 12, 2024, 02:10:22 PM
Barcelona always did their hardest effort in each season, dude. Sure, the lack of quality players became the biggest problem for Barcelona. Even Xavi was the coach of Barcelona, he couldn't win any trophy because he has no proper squad in the last season. Actually, we can understand if Barcelona failed to win any trophy. Well, the new coach means to have a new strategy. It is very possible that Barcelona to change their strategy but I don't see it will be effective to improve their performance as long as they still have the same squad. Hansi Flick is a German coach, he probably has own strategy and different play stayle. Honestly, I doubt if Barcelona players will easily adapt with Hansi Flick.

Source: tribuna.com

Actually, I don't really know much about Hansi Flick's playing style, but if you refer to the data you have provided, it is likely that it will work quite well if Barcelona can fill in the existing deficiencies by bringing in players who are targeted by Hansi Flick. In that formation there are Kimmich and De Ligt and I am sure the strategy will work well if these two players join Barcelona. Moreover, with gegenpressing which has been directed by Hansi Flick, everything can be resolved.

It's just that we can't have full hope that this will happen and the same problem is still a hot topic of conversation, so I'm pessimistic about the potential signing. The rest is that Hansi Flick has to make use of the existing squad and even if the results are not as expected, at least he can direct his players slowly.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 12, 2024, 01:55:27 PM
~snip~

The good thing about Inter Milan is they will always try to do their best to have better performance in the Serie A because of having a more stable team. In fact, Inter Milan can have more chance in the next season by doing this.
Recently they extended the contract of their player, Nicolò Barella until 2029 since he had a good player they decided to keep him for a long time and now Nicolò Barella gets a salary more than any player in Serie A.

Nicolo Barella is a key player for Inter and his role in midfield is very solid in organizing attacks for his teammates. His specialty is of course as a box to box midfielder which is very rare for other players and therefore Inter is very right to give him a contract extension. If not for that, Inter would also find it difficult to control their midfield.

This step was definitely taken at once so that other teams could not touch Nicolo Barella and I am very sure that not a few top European teams are interested in him. Nicolo Barella is like he was born for Inter so he will continue to play with Inter until his contract ends.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 12, 2024, 01:43:10 PM
Benjamin Šeško's performance is truly impressive, especially as he has contributed 18 goals in all competitions this season with Leipzig. Not only that, his role is quite important for Leipzig's attack line and there were rumors linking him with several elite European teams. I think the right steps have been taken by Leipzig to keep him and he will soon sign a new contract agreement with Leipzig.

Of course, this also includes a contract extension and a significant salary increase and that is why he chose to stay at Leipzig. Benjamin Šeško is still very young at 21 years old so a talent like him will be very valuable for Leipzig in the future and his market value could increase with the quality he continues to improve every season.

Source: https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1800443297443570011
I don’t think the increment in salary is the main reason why he decided to stay at Leipzig despite the interest from different elite clubs. If it was the salary i think he will get a much better offer from these bigger clubs but clearly his decision was not based on money.

Sesko performed so well last season and that’s what draw the attention of numerous clubs and he believes he still need time to grow and fully develop into a a world class striker that’s why he didn’t rush to join any club this summer, it’s a good decision because we have seen a lot of players go on to join bigger teams after a one season wonderful display and end up being flops because they didn’t wait to nurture themselves well. It’s good decision by Sesko but sometimes missing an opportunity like this can be costly especially when you don’t match or surpass your previous performance no team will want to sign you anymore.

It's quite reasonable if the reason isn't salary but that's just my speculation so what's going on inside is still being covered up. What is clear is that Benjamin Sesko has signed a new contract until 2029 and I think it is a long-term contract. However, there is another agreement where Benjamin Sesko could leave sooner between 2025 and 2026. I don't know for sure what happens but I think if there is a better offer he could leave Leipzig in that year.

Benjamin Sesko's focus now is on his development plans with Leipzig and perhaps that is what made him reject offers from several elite clubs. There were Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United interested in him but that's over for now. Maybe if it's not the English league, he wants to try another league first like La Liga or Serie A in the future.

Al-Nassr is really crazy, they made an offer of 100 million euros for 4 years to sign Real Madrid's central defender, Antonio Rudiger. I think that's still just the salary, not the bonus that Antonio Rudiger will get too. The crisis of good central defenders has indeed become a problem for Al-Nassr this season, therefore they want to strengthen their defense by bringing in Antonio Rudiger.

However, we all know that Antonio Rudiger has been a key player for Real Madrid since he arrived from Chelsea and his role has been almost irreplaceable over the seasons. So even though Al-Nassr is very optimistic, it looks like there will be resistance from Antonio Rudiger, especially since he is so comfortable with his colleagues at Real Madrid.

Source: https://twitter.com/elchiringuitotv/status/1800473298557428099
The finances they have allow them to make breakthroughs like that and hope that their efforts can be successful in bringing in the Real Madrid defender. However, it looks like it will be very difficult for them to get it, because maybe Rudriger doesn't want to leave the Bernabeu quickly, especially after he succeeded in bringing Real Madrid to the Champions League title this season. If the offer is rejected, I would not be surprised when Al Nassr makes an even higher offer.

Indeed, their defense is a problem that has quite wide gaps this season, so they cannot be optimal in providing competition in the Saudi Pro League and other competitions they play. That makes them move quickly to glance at and make offers to players they want to bring in. He is also still 31 years old, which might be a consideration for the player to continue playing in Europe.
Because of this, Rudiger himself still wants to continue fighting to add to his collection of Champions League trophies and doesn't want to lose to other senior players. So it is very difficult with these contradictory desires and maybe Rudiger will firmly reject the offer from Al-Nassr. If only Al-Nassr comes in about 1 or 2 years, it is possible that the offer will start to be considered and at this time this is quite impossible.

Rather than chasing Rudiger and increasing the offer, Al-Nassr would be better off looking for another player with almost the same characteristics. There are definitely still so many options available and they don't need to be confused rather than having to spend so much money to sign just one player. I know they are capable but it will not all be realized with dreams higher than the money that comes.
