Hi Ripple,

Though each digital currency has it's own merits, I guess it's more useful for wider international adoption to have a single best known brand, like Bitcoin, while the marketplace has still to become mainstream. Who knows for certain how the market will develop in future?

Surprised to see Ripple isn't the best known virtual currency!  LOL

Thanks everyone that has assisted with the Research Survey.

I am happy to report responses have so far reached 152, which is slowly climbing towards a good sample size.  Smiley

Ideally I need about 385 responses to make the survey sample size statistically significant, so if you haven't yet completed the survey you can find it here:

   Bitcoin forum Survey

Thanks

John

I think that if we expect mainstream adoption of Bitcoin, that is all sexes and all ages, using and storing bitcoin has to be made seamless.

For example this morning I downloaded the bootstrap.dat file from bitcoin.org (https://bitcoin.org/bin/block-chain/) to my new Bitcoin Core wallet to help speed up synchronization and found it's over a year old and dated 24th August 2014 !  This is certainly not seamless technology!  Smiley

Hi prodigy8,

You make a valid point that the under 18s should be taken into account. This survey question is certified by the survey platform I am using and gives no options for under 18.  I will ask them why they don't give an option of under 18.  I may change the question to incorporate this age group if I can figure out how to do so without interfering with the existing results.

I think you should include and <Younger than 18. There are many geeks that are under 18 (even some successful CEO at 15), don't discriminate them.

Hi Kprawn,

I appreciate your feedback.

I have taken up your recommendation and posted the survey on BitBiz.

Your comment on the demographics is amusing  Smiley

Ok, Done... I like the layout and the ease of use... It was a good call to use SurveyMonkey.  Grin Of all the questions this is the question most people miss, when they do these

survey's --->   Q14 " In your view if a company sells goods the virtual currency price should be: "

From the results so far, it seems as though Bitcoin users are a lot of American Men in their 30's working in IT.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Good luck with the survey and please post the final

results in this thread, when it's done.  If you want, you could place a link to this survey on BitBiz.io too.  Wink

Dear Forum members,

I am a postgraduate student researching the adoption of virtual currencies.

I have compiled a short survey for forum members at the following link:

    Bitcoin forum Survey

This questionnaire is conducted purely for academic purposes, answers are in complete confidence, and no personal information will be published, or be used for any other purpose.

After the survey is completed you will be able to view the results.

Thank you for participating in this educational survey on virtual currencies. Your feedback is very important for my research.

John
