8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's all this talk about copying the blockchain technology? on: October 17, 2015, 06:26:14 PM
It seems silly to me because a large part of the appeal and value of bitcoin is its decentralized nature.

Yes, and the banks thrive on centralization, hence why they demonize decentralization

The Blockchain itself is paving the way for an entirely new technology sector of autonomous agents, application and corporations.

So in short, the Blockchain is going to solve an entire plethora of problems including financial inequality
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dear banks, it's not about blockchain technology on: October 16, 2015, 02:40:40 PM
When banks cannot prevent the booming of bitcoin, they will adopt it

Would you want your bitcoins stored in the vaults of some bank that can freeze your holdings whenever they feel like and for whatever reason?

The banks will never adopt bitcoin, because those that use bitcoins only use bitcoins and other crypto currencies so that they can completely bypass the banks and conduct frictionless, semi anonymous and peer to peer transactions

The banks just cannot compete with the fact that my qt client does EVERYTHING a bank can do, and more... and also gives users the ultimate control over their finances
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Satoshi Nakamoto WON'T win a Nobel Prize on: October 16, 2015, 02:25:04 PM
Lol Economists.

Remember these two?  Myron Scholes and Robert Merto.  They won a Nobel price on 1994 based on some derivatives model idea they had then started a hedge fund based on that model.  They failed miserably and lost billions.

LTCM? Their model is still being used today. I doubt that they deserved a Nobel prize for it though, the great 2008 crash had a lot to do with the model they created
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where is Bitcoin? Some insights. on: October 16, 2015, 01:25:11 PM
Bitcoin is the first true currency of the internet, which makes it the first borderless value transfer system. Its being used in various places that aren't even accounted for due to proxies etc, so I doubt that most of the stats and geo-usage info out there is accurate
