SFR Informational Post
Updated: 19 January 2015

It's been 2 months since my last update. Not a lot has happened, except some promises from the dev for some progress soon. This is an ongoing post I have been making to fill in the blanks from the first post by the dev, as it is a mess of dead links, and bad pools. It would be nice as the dev has been back around recently, if he could update the first page with some current information.

SFR Healthcheck

Sha - Healthy. Regularly generates blocks as per coin specs. A pool can be found here: http://ispace.co.uk/coindetails/?coin=sfr
Blake - Healthy. Regularly generates blocks as per coin specs. A pool can be found here: https://www.miners-pool.eu/#!/pools/saffroncoin
Groestl - Healthy. Regularly generates blocks as per coin specs. A pool can be found here: https://www.miners-pool.eu/#!/pools/saffroncoin-groestl
Scrypt - Not healthy. Blocks are not being found due to high difficulty. A pool can be found here: http://p2pool.e-pool.net:8967/static/
x11 - Not healthy. Blocks are not being found due to high difficulty. No X11 pools available for some time now.

The great strength of multi-algo coins, is that that despite 2 algorithms being in poor health, 3 have been in continuous good health since the coin was launched, meaning blocks still generate, the block chain keeps moving, and transactions get processed. Multi-algo coins have always been under appreciated, and Saffroncoin is probably the best one out there, despite the lack of progress from the dev in recent months and a low price, it is still fundamentally a solid, well developed coin.

Members of the community are still running nodes, we are still mining the coin, and some people are even still buying. Pretty much everything this coin needs to do to survive, someone who posts in this thread has it covered. It's amazing to see so much support of this coin still about. Thanks to everyone who keeps this thing afloat. Shout out to Kid Brook especially for keeping so many working nodes up and running.

Mining Rewards

The current block reward is 21 SFR. Each algo is targeted to generate a block every 450 seconds. Each algo therefore can produce 4032 coins per day, for 20160 total new coins a day across all 5 algos. The actual amount of new coins a day is less than this, as X11 and Scrypt is not being mined. The true number of new coins a day is about 12k a day as things stand.

Nodes

If you are having trouble getting your wallet to sync, you can use the following nodes:
addnode=23.229.124.34:19717
addnode=23.95.112.227:19717
addnode=23.95.112.118:19717
addnode=23.95.112.228:19717
addnode=198.46.156.221:19717
addnode=23.95.112.219:19717
addnode=23.94.12.100:19717
addnode=172.245.56.167:19717
addnode=192.210.135.149:19717

Tools

Block Explorer
Standard block explorer (with rich list etc.)

Difficulty Chart
Shows difficulty of all 5 algos on 1 graph. Recommend changing view setting to only the most recent 10,000 blocks to make sense of it.

Mining Breakdown
Shows the % of blocks being mined by each algo over the past 500 blocks. Also shows you who is mining the coin.

Exchanges

https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-SFR

Thanks for the informative post as always SKU!! Since you did list the exchanges i would like to strongly encourage people to not use Cryptsy and 100% do not deposit any new coins there (SFR or BTC or any coin for that matter). They have recently posted on their blog, http://blog.cryptsy.com, about a hack a while back, where thousands of btc/ltc were stolen and they are likely insolvent. They've since locked withdrawals except for about 50 coins which they listed on their blog. They mentioned they might/will open up withdrawals for additional coins, and if SFR is enabled for withdrawals, anyone with SFR on Crypsty should attempt to withdrawal their coins ASAP.

Bittrex seems like the safer of the two options, however it has been threatened for delisting in the past due to low volume. But i believe we can get around that if we main .2 vol for the week we are up for delisting or i recall seeing something if Rosh reaches out directly to Bittrex we won't be delisted.

I heard a new wallet update is just around the corner and i will be moving all my coins to the wallet after the update and recommend others do the same. I would move them sooner but i haven't been able to find a working mac wallet link Smiley

Side note: I'd love to get listed on Poloneix eventually. Definitely seems like the leading alt exchange right now in terms of volume and could be great exposure for SFR!!
