1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So I have two questions... on: January 12, 2017, 07:33:56 PM
1. Bitcoin transactions are the same fast as paying with a card.  I use YoBit for my coins and I never had any delays with operations that I did.
2. Apps soon will be created after bitcoin will be admited as payment by governments. While it's not there is place only for one kind of app - bitcoin exchanger.

Links please?  Are they in the apple app store?

When I mentioned the speed of transactions I meant confirmation speed.  How can you pay for a coffee with BTC if it can take like 15 minutes to get one confirmation?  To do this do you have to pay more for the transaction to get confirmed quicker and how does one do this -on blockchain.info, for example?

Thanks btw, I'll check out the alternative clients section...turns out I have more questions lol
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / So I have two questions... on: January 12, 2017, 06:49:59 PM
1.  Why has bitcoin not been scaled yet so that transactions are super fast? And can compete with credit card speeds

2. Why has nobody designed an app that lets you pay for groceries or a coffee, or any good in any store, with bitcoin, right there and then?

What I'm getting at is: What use is it as a method of payment if people can't use it on a daily basis and the transactions are so slow to get confirmed?
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentina’s New President Might Just be a Bitcoin Supporter on: December 15, 2015, 10:52:48 PM
This is indeed great news, however I think you guys are mostly missing the point...

Argentina has a small but thriving bitcoin community because citizens have been trying to get a hold of anything that isn't the peso, as holding onto that local currency has for the last few years been the equivalent of losing money, due to the extremely high inflation rate.

As a result, demand for the USD was so high that a black market emerged, and indeed to this day you can see the rate for the Dólar Blue/ Paralelo published in newspapers.  For example, it was that hard to get USD due to the demand being so high that when the official exchange rate was 9.50 pesos to the dollar, you could buy on the black market for 16 pesos a dollar.  And people did it- out of fear from hyperinflation, which the country has experienced many times.

The same was happening with BTC- you had to buy at the dólar blue rate for the same reasons.

Now what Argentina needs is plenty of foreign investment, and the thriving butcoin community that has been developing there would seem to be a step ahead of most of the world.  I think what they are hoping for is to nourish the market by giving start-ups the much needed supportive environment they need to thrive; this activity and the business it brings with it will hopefully lead to a brighter future for the people of Argentina -and in the meantime mitigate peso fluctuation- with the added benefit of much-needed transparency in certain situations.

In other news, all the games/tables just disappeared from the SWC poker lobby, for no apparent reason.

This on top of the countless times I've had to log out and back in again in the last few weeks due to some error or bug.

I just want to say that the new leaderboard promotion is horrible. I'm very disappointed. I'm not always around to play in a 4btc Krillroll if it's not at the right time.  I'll still play a lot on the site and I'm sure I'll qualify but this was a bad decision in my opinion.

Seconded.  OK to have a freeroll obviously but for the big players this doesn't matter and is inconvenient.

Horrible idea and unforgivable to change all of a sudden without warning.

Krilloween is coming-- new leaderboard promotion!

The top 40 krillers for the month of October will receive a Halloween treat– entrance into a private 4 BTC Krill roll scheduled for November 3rd! All month long, krill your way towards harvesting a dark offering for the spirits of those past krilled.

You can now view the top 40 krillers for the month on our krill leaderboard page: https://swcpoker.eu/krill-leaderboard/

This replaces our previous leaderboard promotion.

So what about those who were currently top of the leaderboard for the week, I take it the top 5 at the time the format was changed will receive the full BTC chips compensation and hats they had rightfully earned?
