Interesting idea. Surprised that I haven't seen it brought up before. Maybe it's been discussed and I missed it though.

It does require some honest pool operators though. Them relaying their blocks on a separate IP when they start getting close to 50% is an easy way to cheat I think.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Debate? NXT Votes Unanimously to Add Coin Mixing Anonymity on: October 14, 2015, 07:54:54 PM
How many of you can actually get your NXT to function? I haven't been able to synch with the blockchain for like 3 months. I know, it requires a very specific, antiquated version of JAVA to run. But NXT devs effectively killed NXT by releasing a neverending flood of updates that never seemed to solve some core problems. Like getting the NXT client to work.

I've done it a few times recently on both Windows and Linux and it requires a recent Java version. Not sure on the exact number but it's Java 8.

The readme or whatever in the while mentions that you need an updated Java version too. So it sounds plausable that you just need to update your Java and make sure your client isn't from last year or whatever. The NXT devs do release tons of updates as you say, so compared to other cryptos where you probably only ever need to download one wallet it's not too surprising that some people aren't used to that. But the SuperNET 2.0 liteclient should go a long way to offering a better user experience for NXT and other currencies involved.

The NRS NXT client has been really good in my experience, but the one issue I've had is the slow downloading of the blockchain. So when I don't want to wait I just download the blockchain bootstrap that someone kindly hosts on Dropbox.

Looking forward to checking out the new API for implementing GMC into games soon. Smiley
