Unsure how it happened, but there was miscommunication on my part. These guys worked it out really cooley. Thanks so much for another smooth transaction.  This is like the 12th transaction, and it saves so much on fees and hassles.   Grin

If a company is registered in Delaware, it can be sued in Delaware, which is a tough and easy place to be sued.  Coinbase has chosen to implement a site that places your balance at the top of every page, but to get the exchange rate you have to dig deep in to the buy/sell page; Coinbase does not support paid BTC transactions, they depend only on the block chain, so transfers of thousands of dollars have to wait in uncertainty on the blockchain, if it doesn't go through in 24 hours, you can then cancel and start over for the game again, and cancel and start again.  They transfer immediately to some addresses and never to others, so expect to have to transfer to a middle account to get your money out of the site.

US BTC users have been told that this is the compliant U.S. site, but the functionality is extremely bald in the places where it actually matters.

If I can't get my coin out of there, I will have to do something.

Sue in Delaware, but payback is a bitch that can reach out and touch someone in San Francisco during lunch.

These people need to realize that some fucking clerk can't sit on funds without some fucking pay back.

Fucking bitches.  Shit happens in the USA all the time, 10,000 gun murders a year. Fucking clerks.... Cry

Thanks Epoch, this is especially helpful: "You should educate yourself in the field you have chosen to pursue: bitcoin mining."

I wasn't trying to piss in your Wheaties.

yes, well....  sorry but no matter how disappointed I am with the decrease in profitability, at least I am not a vendor with thousands of sticks on his hand with no way to move them....

Thanks to TheQuinn and phillipma1957 for the extremely useful calculators.

My data simply comes from a screen shot of my BitMinter from 13 days ago and today.  0.62 BTC to 0.34 BTC.   Like a frog in boiling water.

it is not as extreme as n/2, so it is more like n/1.78 or something....  but tough.

Okay then, why did BTCs jump to $145 USD and are now going back down on MtGox?  Perhaps my anxiety is heightened by this unexplained drop.

Shouldn't it merely be a narrowing of the spread between exchanges as confidence in Gox decreased?

Funny how my view of this game has changed in ten days time.

I read the above post, and 3.4 BTC mined over the next ten days isn't bad, but what is-- is the next ten days at around 1.7 BTC.

It can't be on;y me, no matter what miner you have this depreciation means that even first in line for the newest BFL server blades, you would still depreciate total hash rate by half every ten days.

Brutal.
7  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [19 TH/s] BitMinter.com [ASIC support: var diff, Stratum, GBT, rollntime] on: September 05, 2013, 01:27:30 PM
Okay but riddle me this: How is that my hash rate seems to be decreasing by half every 13 days!?! (according to the Mint Speed of the BitMinter Client v1.4.1).  Friday before last at around 7 PM Central I was getting over 0.6 BTC per day, and now around 0.35 BTC.

With that rate of change in depreciation, there is no way to argue for even the newest biggest machines, because they would become worthless in a year.

So was there a change in the way that  "Approx Mint Speed" was figured or displayed in the new client that may help to explain the loss of mint speed despite better hash rates in the second week?

Because external added hashing to the network is the only thing other than that which could explain the high rate of depreciation-- and despite an increase in BTC value from $112 to $145 USD in the same time.

Or maybe larger miners with experience could give some perspective on how long I should give a 60 Ghs machine to get a better estimate?

Thanks.

PS far easier to be an extremely bad drug dealer who was constantly arrested than a legit BTC miner....
8  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter client (Win/Linux/Mac, NEW: BFL ASIC and Block Erupter USB supported) on: September 05, 2013, 01:02:45 PM
Hi,
I started on the .333 usb sticks, and BitMinter was the only mining program that would work with them on XP, despite successful installs of the other products.

First: each .333 Ghs stick takes 0.5 amps to run.  That means you need a powered hub to run them. I use the DLink powered hub which has 7 slots and 6 amps total, which means one usb slot per power hub has to stay open.

So my first suggestion to see if it can run at all is to use a powered hub and see if it clears up the mining software issues, because if there is not enough juice to activate hardware, software can malfunction.

Second: start with only one in the hub.

Third: expect to have to install at least two different sets of drivers until the item is found (But given it doesn't see the stick in the usb, I would say it is underpowered).  I have found success with Silicon Graphics USBXpress_SDK.exe which automatically installs the drivers for you I think I remember.

These were far more successful than the CP210x_VCP_Windows drivers I think.

Hope this helps, and come back as you make progress. Thanks.

10  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [19 TH/s] BitMinter.com [ASIC support: var diff, Stratum, GBT, rollntime] on: September 05, 2013, 12:40:53 PM
Howdy Ya'll,
Maybe you can explain something to me:

How is it we went for like four days early in the week with single BTCs in the 55+% CDF, and got paid decently, then on Tuesday,
BitMinter gets 4 BTCs with CDF under 35%, and suddenly the pool Ths go up by around 4.5 Ths, and after two days of what should have been a freaking bonanza after a slow week, I got a total pay off of around 0.13 BTC for that 48 hours of work.

Now I pay the 2% pool perks to get paid first, and I know we don't get paid for stale work, but I have watched my return for slow days be better than extremely good days for pay out.

But most worryingly is I watched my daily profitability go from around from 0.48-0.54 BTCs to 0.34 BTCs on the very day of our best discoveries, and there were no corresponding changes in difficulty or network hashing power: only a change in the pool when blocks were discovered.

So while people are complaining about a CDF of 99%+, it really wasn't surprise.  What was a surprise was BitMinters "API was down so weekly network hash rates couldn't be calculated" for the very week I watched my ROI go from 0.48 BTC to around 0.34 BTC per day in the very 48 hoir period when we get our biggest day for a while, and meanwhile there is a corresponding pool hash rate increase of some 25%?

Basically, because we watch the stats in real time, when we look for accounting of how our work was used, we don't get much explanation, even though I see that the BitMinter weekly pool stats in CDF and payouts correspond closely to other big pools.

Perhaps it was a synchronicity that on our biggest day for a while, Network hash rate suddenly increased such that there was a nearly 25% reduction in my daily return from my miner, that had nothing to do with either a software bug, an increase in pool hash rate, or the way the spoils are divvied up.

But I have read such complaints here before and dismissed them when the BitMinter guy comes in an explains why certain things are the way they are.  And also, I had good support from BitMinter early on when I had a question.  Finally, BitMinter, was the only software that worked with my first tiny .333 Ghs usb plugs, so I wanted to show my appreciation by sticking with the pool as it is a smaller one in the top ten, to help diversify the pool computation.

But it seems that if all things stay the same, my ROI hash rate return will fall below  0.1 BTC per day for a BFL 60 Ghs miner within the next 4 weeks.

While I understand that difficulty increases, I used the 61% year over year depreciation stat in the calculator for a purchasing decision.  Now it appears that only true diagnostic for ROI is network hashrate-- not difficulty.  OR POSSIBLY POOL HASHRATE.

I was under the impression that BitMinter had some type of controls installed so that people couldn't easily pool hop.  But maybe that is what is needed.

So it appears to me, that my BFL 60 Ghs miner which was totally profitable less than 10 days ago suddenly became unprofitable by almost 0.16 BTC per day within a single 48 hour period.

I don't dispute it's possible or likely, it just doesn't seem to correspond to what I was getting several orders of magnitude lower with my .333 ghs miners.

The data does not continue to comply with the estimations at higher hash rates, even when accounting for difficulty.

Thus, I need some kind of explanation or I have to start looking elsewhere for any shred of profitability until I get ROI, which should have been Dec. 14, 2013 at the latest and now seems pushed back to June 2014, as of yesterday.

Honestly, I am trying to make a decent go of this, with good accounting, and yesterday doesn't seem to add up-- even when accounting for unclosed blocks waiting to be paid.

It really sucks, and if Network Hashrate is the true Gorilla in the room rather than difficulty, how has that avoided the major avenues of research here on Bitcointalk.org and other newsworthy sites.  Because if Network Hashrate IS the gorilla in the room, then every calculator I've used lacks a Network Difficulty variable to help keep from screwing ourselves.

If our community is so desperate as to need to completely misrepresent the way that difficulty works so that folks will buy hardware from only 4 manufacturers without a real picture of deflation, then we are everything the straight banking community says we are.

And rather than make the next leap to a 2 Th machine to continue mining, after yesterday, it looks like I should be one of the assholes on eBay asking a lot for a machine and get out of the game now....

It's really kind of disappointing.

Any happy thoughts?    Huh

So what up with this week's CFG since the change in complexity!?!  It looked like we got about four good blocks in a row on Wednesday, and precious little else since.

Every BTC, if we find any, is above 60%.

How long as a basic ETA does it take to solve any block once we see it?   I ask because if we wait for the last ten blocks to closebefore final payoffs, do we move our estimations of block payout out a day or 48 hours?

It would be good to know, because sometime you have to move a miner or do maintenance, and if there are crappy blocks all in a row, then how long should you allow after a good block is found till you know its been paid, in general?

Thanks
12  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: September 01, 2013, 03:37:56 AM
My krill is 152 over the entire population of the site.  Three days ago I got hit with four of kind in major hands, three times in one night.
Having played online poker for over 15 years, and having sat through the UltimateBet cheating scandal, I have to say that I have poured enough money into SWC which has-- at best-- a broken AI; and at worst-- a preconceived design to allow players affiliated with the owners to cheat.

SealsWithClubs has changed substantially since BTC's were $5.80 USD.  Once the BTCs went over $18 USD they started their shenanigans such that outlandish, improbable hands began to hit at the river-- and always in the favor of players affiliated with the site.

But consider it from the point of view of the owners of the site: take one hundred bucks from your different steady players some ten times a night, and you get an extra grand every night, and 365 grand a year. Don't go back too often, or they might think that it isn't their bad play or bad luck.

Yet, despite all of that, sometimes things are mathematically improbable.  And as BTCs increased in value, the greed increased, and they increased their play.  Go to the higher value tables and watch the teams work.

I absolutely expect to be punished for this statement because I believe the owners of the site to be affiliated with major organized crime based in Eastern Europe.  It's really wonderful though to see that guy play at the big money tables on T.V., to live his dream with the stolen moneys from his patrons.  Surely, he is of the exact same quality of a Deeb, Hansen, or Brunson?  Right!?!  I mean all of those poker greats also achieved status after owning their own casinos to get their scratch, right!?!

I am completely aware I sound like a sore loser.  But I have been around enough to know I simply can't play there any more, and Satoshi is a better payout with less bullshit.

Just two cents from a miner who refuses to spend coins at that site anymore.

Hey what is happening when everything stops showing computation rates on the website and my miner runs out of work? It happened night before last for about 4 hours but when i rebooted it started right up. Should I fear reboot? Will it keep me from receiving coins? Thanks. Shocked

Hey Dr. Haribo,
the BitMinter beta client and web page works great with my BFL 60 GHs.

Better than any other client/website combo.

You had the drivers and recognition for my tiny .333 miners when i just started, now I have a big dog, but I am sticking with the pool that got me off the ground when I was a newbie!

Thanks so much, I feel many of the clients are behind in the basic useful functionality for the small miner.

Howdy,
I just made the upgrade from .333 usb sticks to the nice BFL 60 Ghs Single.  I can see the mining rate both on the miner and on the "live stats" page.
I emptied my past BTCs so I could see the thing in action and see if actuality corresponded to my math.

So the new coins earned in a shift are not credited into the BitMinter account until the shift ends.

How long is that usually, and can someone tell me what i should be looking for when you guys are watching whether new blocks are found for the pool?

Thanks.

20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Best MotherBoard for Butterfly Labs Monarch PCI card? on: August 20, 2013, 08:41:32 PM
Looking for opinions on best MotherBoards for Butterfly Labs Monarch PCI card?  I have not built a data center style board before.  I would possibly buy 5 at a time, and then wait to fill them in.

If anyone can point out imperative major design features, and any favorites, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks. Cool
