1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: October 27, 2014, 07:39:17 AM
Ok lets set this straight since the developers have stopped communicating with us and trying to fix the issue. I have gone above and beyond to make anoncoin work on our exchange. I kept the ANC wallet open when bittrex shut it down to not lock customers from their funds

This was made impossible by the false accusations and general slander from the community and developers themselves

I will say it again. I manage 236 wallets. ANC is the only one to have this issue. And it is NOT a cryptsy issue.

OK, in all fairness I guess I don't know quite enough about exactly what went wrong to point the finger at any specific party. I didn't mean to upset anyone, I was just providing a status update to an issue I was quite irritated about. The dev's were blaming it on Cryptsy because the tx size was too large, and apparently I missed some posts somewhere that explain the situation?!

I am a trader and have dealt with issues a few times now (mostly with ANC) and just wanted my coins. I tried to contact support a few times without pestering anyone and couldn't get a simple answer, not everyone wants to dig through thousands of posts to find the one specific post that explains it.

So, I'm sorry if I blamed the wrong person but waiting a week for your coins is very frustrating when you can't just get a simple reply from support, who by the way promised to follow up with me when the issue was fixed...

On a serious note, a question about anonymity.

I can't figure out how considering I have an impossible to guess password and have setup yubikey for withdrawels but someone emptied out my account for about 80 BTC today!

Luckily I keep most of my BTC in my own wallet but wtf can I do now? Anything? I've been trying to contact Mt Gox all day but it just keeps saying "getting an agent..."

BTW, the person that hacked my account's address is:

1JgqPGJCJWzgeMiTFbmeLi3cpKC9jahPS4

I'll give a reward if I can find out who this person is so I can beat the **** out of them!

It is easy for a novice like myself to follow the trail to a wallet that was active just a few hours ago.

Is there no way to connect those stolen funds to an id on an exchange or other service?

Take a look at the date of that post and where it was stolen from!! That was almost 2 years ago and from Gox who doesn't even exist anymore... I contacted Gox about the issue who couldn't do anything about the theft, I traced the IP Address (Gox provided) to a Library somewhere in Colorado that was being used as a proxy. I watched the account for a long time and there was no activity, even if the thief is using the account now it would be impossible to get any credible exchange to give me someone's personal information or take the BTC back!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: October 25, 2014, 05:35:32 PM
Just a quick update on my Cryptsy ANC withdrawal issue for what it's worth...

I posted a few days ago about my transactions being "stuck" and got zero support from Cryptsy other than pointing me to various forum threads including this one. I had a total of 4 transactions ranging from 140 ANC up to 1,200 ANC... 3 of which were going to CEX and 1 going to my personal wallet.

Finally today, after 4 days (or was it 5...?) I finally got all 4 transactions to both CEX and my wallet! Smiley

I don't know if this helps anyone or not, it doesn't look like Cryptsy has the problem solved and even if they did I don't think I would trust using them again. Looking at the txID's it was definitely a Cryptsy issue from what I can see so no need to panic about ANC having issues. If you're still waiting on Cryptsy it looks like their transactions will *Eventually* go through, but it will probably take some time because of the massive tx sizes they are sending.

Hopefully no one has lost too much money over this issue, I could have more than doubled my BTC if the tx had gone through right away... but at this point I'm just happy to report I finally got them and made just a few percent!! Sorry Cryptsy, I'll have to use someone else now but thanks for nothing!

Good luck to anyone else that had issues! Hope you get your coins back from Craptsy soon... Wink

Hello,

I really hope people don't jump all over me for asking this, I see that it has been asked before but I don't see any specific answers...

I recently purchased some ANC over at Cryptsy and tried to withdraw them to another exchange where I keep most of my coins. I have done this in the past without any problems, however all of my withdrawals are confirmed and show a txID but none can be found in the blockchain / explorer.

I see that other people have complained about the same thing and a few people blaming Cryptsy for either running an old version of the ANC client/server, or for sending too large of a transaction at a time (over 100Kb). I have contacted Cryptsy twice about this issue and asked them how long it would take and if it is because of these issues - both times I got a reply blaming it on an issue with ANC and not their fault, but they claim to be working with the developers of ANC. Both times they also directed me to this thread for more info and although I was very active with BTC in the early days, I really don't understand a lot of the technical side of altcoins (or even BTC for that matter).

Again, I hope I don't get bashed for asking this again - I have looked through a LOT of posts and haven't found an answer that helps me yet. Maybe I did and just did not understand the tech side of it?! Now days I am just a trader, and really just looking to get my coins back so I can get back to trading!!

If someone would be kind enough:

1) In lamens terms, what is holding up these transactions?

2) Will the transactions ever actually go through, or are they lost forever?

3) How long of a delay am I looking at to get my ANC in my other wallet? (Hours? Days? Weeks? Longer...??)

Thanks in advance!

I tried asking Cryptsy these same questions and got what looked like an automated response saying they had no timeline when all I was looking for was a rough guess!

FYI - If it helps at all, I have 3 separate txID's in different amounts: one is for 1,800 ANC, another for 240 ANC, and another for 100 ANC.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: October 08, 2014, 06:40:41 AM
I'm sorry if this is a really noob question, I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere else and I am brand new to ANC...

I just purchased quite a lot of ANC tonight on CEX as a future investment and immediately withdrew them to a different wallet. The wallet did receive a confirmation that the transaction was received, but it has been something like 5 or 6 hours without a single confirmation. I tried to check the blockchain for my transaction / address and it is not found, it also looks like there has not been a block found since sometime yesterday - it has been stuck at block 252049 for a long time now...

Is this normal to have such long gaps? Is something now working correctly with either the network, blockchain, my transaction, wallet, transaction, etc?

How long do most blocks usually take, this seems a bit ridiculous that my transaction has been stuck like this for so long!? Although looking at the blockchain, it appears that most blocks are usually 1-5 minutes (not hours or days!)

If someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it!

Site is down - no new bets have been processed in 2 hours, still waiting on a few payments and bets to go through.

Any status on this? When it will be resolved?

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction Stuck, shown on the Unconfirmed List (w/ fees) Need Help Please!! on: February 20, 2013, 08:38:28 AM
Thanks for the help, both of you Smiley

I tried for a few days and just couldn't find a solution, I tried a number of things including a rescan, deleted the blockchain and waited hours for it to re-download, and even went as far as using pywallet or whatever to remove those unconfirmed transactions.

What I *think* happened, and it sucks because my wallet shows about 35 more Bitcoins than what I apparently really have, but I had made a bet to Satoshidice for 17.5 BTC a while back which was shown on blockchain as a double spend although Satoshidice accepted the bet and sent me .005 or something like that back but that was also a double spend! THEN, my wallet must have tried later to resend the exact same bet (it must have seen that the first was a double spend) and again, got the same resulting loss from Satoshidice.

Hope that makes sense, I know it's a bit confusing...

So basically there are 2 outgoing bets of 17.5 BTC. One bet is valid and confirmed, the other bet never confirmed. There are 2 incoming transactions from Satoshidice for about .005 BTC and again, one payment is confirmed and the other is invalid. I believe, both outgoing could have been invalid - I'm going off of memory here.

What I ended up doing because my balance now showed as 0, was replacing my wallet.dat file with a very old copy so I knew the balance it showed was way off. I created a new wallet and sent myself a few smaller transactions - 1.4 BTC, then 1 BTC that never showed up, so I continued to send myself 0.01 transactions one at a time until they no longer confirmed. I'm *assuming* that by doing it this way I got all of the Bitcoins I actually had - it just sucks that my wallet resent that supposed double spend so quickly and made me lose 35 BTC :\

Anyways, I still have the old wallet file just in case but I'm using a new wallet now - so far without any problems *fingers crossed and knocking on wood* lol

If anyone has any further input it would be much appreciated! If I could get those 35 BTC back, or even the 17.5 BTC I'd be willing to send you half of it! Smiley
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Transaction Stuck, shown on the Unconfirmed List (w/ fees) Need Help Please!! on: February 12, 2013, 01:18:58 AM
Ok, so I've got over 20,000 transaction thanks to Satoshidice and there have been a few unconfirmed transactions for many months now (both tx and rx) so today I decided I would transfer out all of the remaining Bitcoins and start a new wallet because I've had some issues with this one...

My final transaction (luckily fairly small) never made it so after a few hours of research I was able to find it on the unconfirmed list at bitcoincharts.com and it is still not showing up on blockchain.info in any way. This is cut and pasted directly from Bitcoin Charts and I'm hoping someone can please help me figure out why this transaction is stuck or what I can do to fix it.

I'm completely stumped, I have searched for hours but I can't figure out what to do. It's boxed in red and I'm thinking it has something to do with these unconfirmed inputs but I'm really not sure!? Desperately need some help please!

13  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone using BTC to buy Silver/Gold on Coinabul? on: February 11, 2013, 11:26:11 PM
Hello,

I first wanted to thank Coinabul for their excellent support when I was able to get in touch with them on the phone last week before placing my order. I spoke with Jay (both times I believe) and he was a great guy and gave me some very good advice as a first time Precious Metal buyer, so thank you very much for that!

I wanted to ask about my order though, based on previous posts it looks like I am jumping the gun a bit here but after sending a lot of Bitcoins and a recent theft over at MtGox I'm just a little on edge right now. I have emailed both Jon and Jay, but I'm not sure my Email was sent - having issues with gmail today...

I placed 2 orders for a Pamp 1 Oz Gold Bar, 1/4 Oz Gold Eagle, 10 Oz Silver Bar, Silver Liberty Coin, and Silver Eagle Coin on the 7th and sent the Bitcoins immediately. I'm sure there are no issues but I just wanted to verify that my Bitcoins were received, Spot price was locked (should be as BTC are up and Gold/Silver are down! lol) and so on. My Status still says "Processing" and I never received any type of confirmation Email, is this normal? Or should I have received a confirmation?

Sorry, I just want to be sure my Bitcoins were received and that everything is a go. Thanks for the support and the great service you are providing the community! Even with my new Yubikey and security, I still don't completely trust any of the exchanges out there and PM's are a great alternative and something I've been meaning to get into anyways Smiley
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: February 02, 2013, 09:16:02 AM
hmm, 5-10 % correction.. I'm sure we'll be over 21$ on monday night, when my funds (1.5k$) will be availlable to buy BTC.
No problem, I'm buying all I can under 50$ !

Cheesy

Feel free to quote me in a year Cheesy !!!!!

(no one will do, as old-quoters are quoting failed prediction Wink)

I'll quote you in a year from now  Wink Got it set in my calendar lol...

I'm all for the positive speculation on Bitcoins and I've told the members on my forum to hold as well. I think we'll see a significant dip after BFL ships their SC Lineup but I'm thinking we'll see at least $35-40 in a years time. I hope no one takes offense to this, but you have to realize that much of the Bitcoin market is made up of kids and amateur traders! When a MM moves in like this, there are thousands of small accounts that follow in a panic sell simply because they aren't as educated in real trading. I was the same way when I started playing around with day trading in other markets years ago but I have learned my lesson - common sense tells you to buy low and sell high, but to the rookies or people with weak stomachs emotion takes over 99% of the time! People need to go into any trading situation with a specific stop in mind before they ever purchase IMO.

I don't know what it is about weekends and Bitcoins, but like a previous post said, I've come to enjoy Monday's more than the weekend! Just speculating here, but anyone have any insight into why this is? My best guess is that the "kids" are out of school and/or people let their miners run during the week and sell off what they made when they have time at the end of their work week!?

LOL - already made nearly 10% since I started writing this post Smiley Thanks whoever just dumped all their BTC!
15  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Hacked - lost it all today... now what!? on: January 21, 2013, 10:53:37 PM
I'm sorry if my posts sound a little all over the place, I'm a little on edge here myself so I'll try to be as clear as possible...

* Yes I did have a Yubikey and *thought* I registered it
* I just spoke with Mt Gox and they are claiming that I never had a registered Yubikey
* They provided the IP Address of the person, but it comes up all over the world when I search it
* I know I tried to register my yubi when I got it so I *suspect* there is a fault where it is not "sticking" the first time around as you stated
16  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Hacked - lost it all today... now what!? on: January 21, 2013, 10:37:42 PM
I sound sketchy?

I lost a good amount of money today and I'm kinda freakin out I'm just trying to figure out wtf happened! I don't know if that yubi was ever actually activated, I set it for withdrawals only but I never withdrew any money or bitcoins yet so I never actually got to "use" it. I'm trying to figure out if it was ever indeed registered or not...

Anyways, there is a support ticket and they have the information. Basically they told me I'm screwed and to file a police report and send them a copy. Still waiting to hear back about the status of the yubikey however.

Oh btw, that was my question as well - do they lock you out for using the wrong pw x amount of times? If so, then this person got my info in some other way but considering I don't use that same password ANYWHERE ELSE, it would have to be a keylogger or something for them to have gotten the PW. If it was a bruteforce attack, why didn't gox stop the repeated attempts? It wasn't an easy PW to figure out!
17  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Hacked - lost it all today... now what!? on: January 21, 2013, 10:26:03 PM
Thanks for the info guys, this really ruined my day! I am already screwed with bills and stuff and then I log in to find this... ugh

Could this have anything to do with my Yubikey being broken and reported lost? I never got a chance to actually use it on Mt Gox so I don't really know what happened there!?
18  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Hacked - lost it all today... now what!? on: January 21, 2013, 10:22:39 PM
Gotcha, I guess I could post the ticket number here - no sensitive info in that ticket

Not to mention, nothing left in my account now anyways!  Cry

#50629

Haven't heard anything back from anyone at Mt Gox yet on it though...
19  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Hacked - lost it all today... now what!? on: January 21, 2013, 10:21:03 PM

I'm too new to these forums to know who is who
20  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Hacked - lost it all today... now what!? on: January 21, 2013, 10:19:55 PM
