1  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 7950, 5830 on: August 28, 2012, 04:23:26 PM
how hot are the vrm temps on the 7950. i plan on using a universal water block to water cool it, and if the vrm temps are too hot it will cause insuitability. Also will you accept payment in PayPal, because i only am able to get about 10 btc.

The VRMs on the powercolor are not actively cooled having no contact with the heatsink on the heatpipe assembly, but the heatsink grills are open which allows the airflow from the second fan directly on them, that being said, at stock speeds they get to about 68-69c when the core is about 56c with the fan actively blowing across them.  With no contact between your waterblock and the vrms they would overheat for sure.  You need to get a block that sits on them.  Being that quite a few other brands have the heatpipe assembly actively cooling with heatsink contact on the vrms, you should be able to get a block, or modify one to actively cool the vrm modules.  Keep in mind that these cards can draw over 300w when doing high clocks and voltages, thats alot of vrm heat.

PM sent discussing terms.

Hoping this gets sorted

Seems to be working now, also shares have caught up with the expected total including the downtime.

Same here, still submitting, but no stats for the last hour.

Or you can just edit the default clocks under profile to a lower value, which in turn will decrease the min value of the slider.

Are you sure you are using AB 2.2.3? I tried the exact same thing and was not able to underclock below 625MHz mem.

Yes, make sure you plonk the dll in the same folder, also make sure you enable the unofficial overclocking to mode 2.

8  Economy / Lending / Re: I have 150 BTC and want to buy a BitcoinMax account on: August 19, 2012, 06:00:15 AM
So what your saying is that you want to buy a bitcoin max account worth more than 150BTC for your BTC, but only after you are sure that the account will pay?

Is it just me or does this seem a little silly?

If I had a bitcoin max account with 300BTC in it and and I wanted to sell it, I wouldnt sell it for less than 300BTC AFTER I knew that the funds could/would/had been drawn out.

Or maybe your google translate is broken and has completely butchered the meaning of your proposition.

Awesome, thanks for the great service you provided, hope you find something similar to run in the future, i will be back if you do.  Wink

I agree, perhaps he can approach one of the other lenders and use his pass through system, albeit at lower rates, to funnel our funds into other investments.

Do you believe this will work with radeon 69xx cards not dropping memory below 150 of core too? I seen a lot of people complaining about this.

Certainly worth a try, just drop that dll into ABs folder and give it a shot.

[update]

Power differences are significant enough to justify the effort.

running at 900/750@0.925v my card draws 142w
running at 900/150@0.925v my card draws 125w

running at 1100/950@1.055v my card draws 236w
running at 1100/150@1.055v my card draws 200w

Dropping the vmem voltage from 1.6 down to 1.5 nets about 2-4w when running at higher memory speeds (700+)
but doesnt do much at lower 150mhz speeds (less than 1w, well within the scope of inaccuracy of my power meter)

Ok finally solved.

My issue with MSI AB showing blank sliders is apparently in newer versions of AB they dont include the Atipdlxx.dll, or at least if you copy Atipdlxx.dll into the MSI AB program folder from an older version of the driver (I used 12.1 whql version) then restart AB with the unofficial overclock mode2 option it shows the sliders again.

With AB 2.2.3, amd 12.6 whql and the Atipdlxx.dll in the AB folder i can drag the slider down and set memory clocks to below core -150

Got the dll file from here : http://www.mediafire.com/?phl44hvned2pwab - just pasted it into the AB 2.2.3 folder.

Will post an update with power measurements.

I have a 7770, and noticed something similar. When using CGMiner, I can't put the mem speed more than 150 below the core speed (which is what other people have found as well). However, using AB and the UnofficialOverclockingMode=2 tweak, I'm able to set the mem speed as low as I want. I ran it at 300, confirmed through CGMiner and GPU-z.

Im able to set core and memclocks, core and memvoltage PT and all with afterburner, but as soon as I enable overclockmode 2 It blanks out the sliders for core and mem and no longer works.

Tried many drivers to no avail.  Next step is to try some beta drivers.

I can't wait to see Vandroiy be $60,000 richer.

Yea me too, thats why I invited him to join bitcoinmax, its about the only way he will make back his money <grins>

Im having this same issue on my 7950.

Memory will not underclock more than -150 of core.
Tried cgminers mem-diff
Tried AB and trixx.  Nothing will underclock the memory below the -150 threshold.
In fact if i do try, it resets the memory speed to 800mhz.

[update] :  Interesting, from another thread here :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=93716.msg1035879#msg1035879 (same issue, using ati 7770)

Well I finally found that going back to 12.3 fixed it or "allowed" me to use a combo of afterburner & barely clocked to sneak in the memory settings to 300mhz.

Im using the 12.6 drivers, perhaps a different version will allow the greater memdiff, Ill report back if successful.

16  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: August 11, 2012, 11:13:23 PM
I very much doubt this is true on average.

Its true, we get interest - 6.9% actually.

People almost never withdraw...

An assertion or a fact? the former I would guess.  Ive withdrawn more than I have invested.  See if you were a bitcoinmax user you would know this, the withdraws are visible to users.

Heck, last Monday we didn't even see pay-outs of half the expected interest.

Heck, you love making stuff up.  Payments were later than usual, but no-one missed out in here, perhaps read back a few pages and see.

Now, I can't prove Pirate isn't <insert stupid FUD or assertion>

And we come full circle, so your just asserting your opinion, whereas all participants in bitcoinmax are actually making money.

I can't tell others what to do with their money.

Well you try and try and try, but no-one likes listening to opinion about how we are not earning, or will not earn in the face of the fact that we are earning bucketloads of BTC.

But if those 6.9% paper returns really are all people care about in this thread, we've identified the problem.

I think we have identified the problem, we are earning BTC and you are not.

Join bitcoinmax today and you too could happily earn 6.9% interest and maybe catch up on that 5k debt you have accrued.

Thank you for supporting my point. It is pirate and his shills claiming the teapot not me.

My point illustrates that one, such as you, can claim anything, it doesnt make it a fact just because -you- cant be disproved.

What is certain is that people are earning 6.9% interest through bitcoinmax, thats all we care about in this thread.

18  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: August 11, 2012, 05:05:08 AM
Pirate claims many things. Most of them is a lie. Given the facts, even if they are not, they should be assumed as such until an irrefutable proof that his operation is not a ponzi is presented. The same goes for everything pirate's shills say.

I can claim that there is a celestial teapot orbiting the sun, doesnt mean its true just because no one can disprove it.

Where is your proof of these so called lies by pirate?

Or are you just pissy cause you cant work out how to earn a similar amount of profit?

Boo hiss, take your FUD to the FUD threads, this is a pass through not a ponzi, have a read up on the difference.

19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: FPGA development board "Lancelot" - accept bitsteam developer's orders. on: August 05, 2012, 01:00:49 PM
If it can only mine btc, I don't see how it can still be profitable right now to be honest. Some of those Z-Tex boards have 128MB memory, so if I'd even switch to FPGA now, it would have to be at least LTC compatible. Look at some of the people with their Minirigs in the wild threads. Several guys already with 150+Gh/s Minirigs. Not even talking about Asics.

@500mh/s you would make about $3 per day, using 25-30w of power costs about 10-15c per day.
How are you doing your calculations?
