1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Hacking The KNC Firmware: Overclocking on: March 08, 2014, 10:27:39 PM
@ Tolip Wen: You mean the 6 solder points right next to the PCI-e adapter already on the ASIC? Think that could help bring up a slow die?

Another question: on 8VRM October boards, is it totally obvious that there are 8 and not 4? I have an October board and it only looks like there are 4, but what do I know (? - enough about Linux, but not squat about EE).

One more, I just received a board that had gone dead and been RMA'd, and the $%^&&) board ran on four dies for maybe an hour after receiving (KNC sent it back with the voltage cranked and running > 200watts, and it took a few boots to get that under control); then die #2 started refusing to come up. I've tried everything I can think of and will email KNC on Monday, in the meantime I'm down once again to completely sub-optimal hashing and just beyond frustrated and pissed off at this situation; it cost me almost $200 to send that board back and now it's slower than the last effing board (unless I ran it at 75C) before it went tits up.

Any suggestions for a die that looks fine under bertmod but won't come up over an amp or so? Tried everything I can think of - fans all over, air direction directly to VRMS, used to have to crank the temp way up and they'd kick on, but so far no change at a reported 71C, and honestly now I'm a little nervous running another board that hot after learning that the VRMS are frequently MUCH MUCH hotter than the indicated temp. under advanced.

Half venting, half looking for suggestions here.. =/

Anyone know how to make cgminer disable a core permanently? I have a feeling I'd be at 0% hw errors if it wasn't for this one naughty core with 170 hw errors an hr...think it would be worth it to just turn it off Cheesy

You can do this easily with bfgminer..

Hi, I have a little trust and I'm certainly looking to build more. I've done 3 trades with DoctorBTC so far, all went completely smoothly, and I expect to have more to sell in the coming months.

If you're willing to do/start with a small trade with a new guy, I've got .57btc that I'll trade for gdmp or PP.

Hit me up here or on freenode #bitcoin-otc, under the same login

Cheers!

Hi, I'm looking to sell .57btc for gdmp today. I'm pretty new here, but I have done a couple trades with DoctorBTC that are reflected on the bitcoin-otc WOT, and I'm currently logged in and registered there (IRC) now.

Hi, I'm a btcpak refugee and looking for someone to buy coins on the semi-regular. I currently have 1.3btc that I'd like to sell (we can start with a $100 mp if you'd like), and if this goes smoothly, I'll have more.

Hit me back via PM, thanks!

Looks like this has happened before:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=82384.0

Yep, and this is exactly what happened to me. They were simply so low on coins they couldn't accommodate my transfer.

I got an email response about 2:30am, and I imagine the coins were back in my wallet by ~3am.

10  Other / Beginners & Help / Instawallet to btcpak - failed transfer, missing coins on: June 12, 2012, 04:49:54 AM
Late this afternoon PST, I attempted to make a transfer from Instawallet to BTCPAK (14CgjhQpiFePcCRfoE1stE39uEUBAN7kqQ) and got a very non-verbose error in red writing from instawallet, but the transfer never made it to btcpak, and so far, emails haven't been returned (I do understand it's not business hours, but I'm sweating this one hard). I realize it hasn't been THAT long but it's gonna be a really long night, I need that money.

Has anyone else has had money disappear during withdrawal from IW? Like it deducts from your account but doesn't go anywhere? I'm sure all info was correct, I do this all the time.. I guess I'm just really anxious to hear back from Instawallet, previous issues handled by btcpak happened very quickly.

I guess just wondering about any similar experience and hoping for an easy resolution in the am.. I only hesitate to provide the wallet address as I'm still learning the do's and don'ts of BTC, and would rather not open up any doors to fraud - am I accurate in thinking this?

Cheers..  Undecided
