Ummm.. not sure where you got the impression that I was spamming. I was only making a thinly veiled reference to the fact that nVidia hardware is approximately one fifth as efficient as AMD hardware when it comes to bitcoin mining, and that no hardcore bitcoin miner would even consider using such inefficient cards unless they had free electricity and lots of money to blow. Therefore, I assumed that this guide was targeted towards new gamer users that weren't worried about the efficiency of their hardware. Sorry if it sounds like spam to you.

Sorry if I misunderstood. But I am an NVIDIA user and yes I know that AMD is better but I still wanted to make a guide for people who have NVIDIA cards and wanted to use them for mining.

Thanks Smiley

6  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / [HOW TO] Configure Phoenix Miner v2.0.0 for NVIDIA Devices on: June 04, 2012, 01:52:03 AM
This tutorial will show you how to configure Phoenix Miner v2.0.0 for NVIDIA/CUDA GPU's.

This guide is only for Windows Vista/7 OS

Prerequisites:

1. Phoenix Miner v2.0.0 or the latest version available

LINK: https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php

2. An NVIDIA Graphics Card with the latest drivers

To update your drivers please find your NVIDIA GPU at the NVIDIA Driver Downloads page below

LINK: https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php

Please note: If you have an outdated NVIDIA graphics card mining will NOT work on your computer. Once you start running the mining software (Phoenix v2.0.0), your computer will slow down drastically and sometimes your whole display might crash. To determine whether your graphics card is outdated or not please go to this page.

3. Basic Knowledge of Command Prompt

Now we can begin the tutorial.

Once you have downloaded the Phoenix Miner v2.0.0 .zip file, extract it.

Now open the Phoenix-2.0.0 folder and open "phoenix.exe".

It should've now created an empty .cfg file right above "phoenix.exe". This .cfg file will store all of your settings once you modify it. Now open the empty .cfg file. If you've never opened a .cfg file before it should prompt you to select what program to use. Just select Notepad.

I have already made a .cfg file for NVIDIA users.
You can cut/paste the code below into your empty .cfg file and click Save.

Code:
[general]
backend = http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@example.com:8332

[cl:0:0]
kernel = opencl
AGGRESSION = 4
BFI_INT = false

This is a pretty basic configuration, you can tweak the settings to your liking. Replace "USERNAME" and "PASSWORD" to the username and password of your mining pool. Also replace "example.com:8332" with your mining pool server.

Once you have saved this configuration into your .cfg file, run "phoenix.exe" once again and it should connect to your pool and start mining.

If you have any errors with the .cfg file I have uploaded one with the configurations above.

Download pre-made .cfg file: https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
