1  Other / Beginners & Help / Help an Aussie newbie acquire BTC? on: July 24, 2012, 06:23:34 AM
I'm looking to buy 18-20BTC and was hoping to have them by this evening. Unfortunately I'm not able to get to a bank to make use of the SpendBitcoins service and have lost the details to the account I used with BitPiggy :S

I'm aware of the potential issues as far as chargebacks/other scams and things go, and I'm not sure how to alleviate those concerns; evidently my word doesn't hold much weight. Any suggestions as to a secure method of acquiring BTC today would be handy.

I'm able to pay via Commonwealth Bank transfer, PayPal. Shoot me an email at lachlanlordmartin(at)gmail.com if you're interested.

Cheers!
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Purchasing reasonably-priced BTC in Australia? on: June 15, 2012, 03:12:42 AM
I've looked at other threads on this topic, but I was wondering if any better alternatives have been identified.

Ever since BitPiggy went down, any competitors have upped their prices ridiculously, and the fees associated with most global markets (particularly bank wiring to Mt.Gox) are frustratingly prohibitive. SpendBitcoins's rate and 10% fee is crazy.

Is anyone aware of an affordable means of purchasing BTC using an Australian bank account, PayPal (god forbid), etc.? I need around 30-35 at present. Might end up just waiting out BitPiggy otherwise.
