1  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Anyone interested in an ncurses bitcoind fronted? on: February 14, 2014, 10:49:14 AM
I am throwing together a little ncurses fronted for bitcoind (or any fork) because it fits nicely into my xmonad desktop without that harsh graphical background of the gui cilent, but quicker to use than typing commands.

Is anyone else interested in this?  I just started today, if anyone is interested I can throw it up on github as soon as its usable.  I dont know if this already exists or not, I didn't really search for one.

So many altcoin qt clients now. And i don't trust most of my computing locations, nor any online wallets. A secure shell with tmux/screen ncurses clients would be extreemly nice

If you have started this or you know of such a project please do tell! I have not found any ncurses or otherwise terminal client.]

Edit: ofcourse as usual I find one right after the post. termcoin on githib

8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CPU mining any good for anything? on: April 22, 2013, 11:24:55 PM
Are there any 'alternative' coins that are still useful for CPU mining?

Reason I ask is I have 8x HP servers each with 6x quad core CPUs in them and 24GB RAM.  I also have an office where power is 'free'. (to me at least!)

I know CPU mining for bitcoin is a waste of time, but is there anything useful I could do with this kit which I could later exchange for BTC?

Due note that CPU mining is more or less going to suffer the same fate for litecoin, as the gpu mining software now works really good with litecoin. Tho cpu mining might still be useful, to compare, i have a 6core(12coreHT) i7 3960x @ 4.5hz. and it does around 90 kh/s. The higher end amd cards are at around 800 kh/s. Sadly.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Expected Monetary Value of a BFL Jalepeno on: April 22, 2013, 11:19:15 PM
iv also got 2 jalapenos on order i expect after everything and all ASICS come online they will earn around 0.5 btc a week but before all ASICS come online i expect them to earn anywhere from 2-3 btc and if the jalapenos are the first to get shipped then a week oof possibly 5-10btc power consumption is somewhere around 10-20 w at most

im in the very early orders so plan on my jalapeno paying back within 2 weeks

I ordered a jally at around October last year, have you gotten any reply on when about's yours will be shipped?

payed for a BFL jally last year around christmas, but im skeptic, they just keep pushing the months. Jally wasn't awfully expensive so there's that atleast.
