r3wt or someone, I have a real noob question Smiley For the life of me I can't find the information I'm looking for.

For the fun of it I'm using the Console in the Debug Window. Everything is working and I have a real dumb question whats "currentblocktx" : 13, and "pooledtx" : 13, mean? Is it the amount coins I found? Because I have been getting numbers most of the day at different amounts, and of course not every time I check getmininginfo I just gotta ask because it's driving me nuts  Tongue

Of course my networkhashps is up and down and it's showing it at a lower rate. But anyway how the heck can I tell when I find coins or a block etc..

{
"blocks" : 12115,
"currentblocksize" : 3939,
"currentblocktx" : 13,
"difficulty" : 1.11830654,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : true,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 4842,
"networkhashps" : 13177201,
"pooledtx" : 13,
"testnet" : false
}

Thanks

Been doing a lot of reading about Bitcoin, reading messages on here and visiting other sites.

I was just telling him about Bitcoin and his reply was "I don't trust it".
I guess I was a little surprised, because I've known the person for several years and they are usually open to new ideas and ways of doing things.

Not sure I understand it or trust it totally, but I like the idea.

I'm not a programer, I know enough PHP etc. to get myself into trouble Smiley So I'm not much help on that end.

About all I can do is help promote/support Bitcoin and other's that use it.

10  Other / Off-topic / I don’t trust it. on: July 14, 2012, 05:39:19 AM

Seeing I just found out about Bitcoin a little over a week ago or so. I’ve been telling people about it. One of my friends is a stockbroker. So he has heard of Bitcoin. But he never really looked into it he said. After I told him it was around $6.50  about a week ago and  now it’s over $7.00, he said he was going to look into it. Of course he’ll look into Bitcoin, He’s a stockbroker and it‘s his job, find investments or methods that make a profit.

Then I was talking with another friend. Of course he asked, How do you get it?

I told him you can mine for it or you can accept it as payment. Of course I explained, If you have a product or service you can accept Bitcoin as a payment.  And his comment was, What do you mean accept it as payment. So I had to go through the whole process of what it is, Telling him it’s a commodity that it’s bought and sold like any other commodity. I told him how it came about, how it’s being used and so on. To make a long story short. His statement was “I don’t trust it” I was like why? You can sell it and get your money (meaning fiat) or hold it and the value may go up or it may down. You can accept it as a payment, just like any other payments. Business are starting to accept it, you can accept.  But his finial decision still is “I don’t trust it”  I also told him to visit Bitcoin.org and here to see how it‘s being used.

I don’t think he can grasp that it’s not backed by a Government. Plus he didn’t understand how you can mine for it. What do you mean? Mine for it on the net.

So the replies I get about Bitcoin are mixed. If someone understands commodities they understand how you get currency for it, but some don’t understand the mining and the fact that it’s not backed by a Government, it’s backed by people.

So I guess one of my goals will be, Help people understand you can accept it by trusting other’s. You don’t need big business or a Govt telling you something is worth something. Put some faith in people.

17  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] BitVisitor - Get 1,000 Bitcoin Visitors for just 1 BTC! on: July 03, 2012, 08:26:58 PM
Being new I'm finding BitVisitor very helpful. I think it's a good way for anyone that's new too learn and find sites that use Bitcoin.  Plus you earn a small amount while your doing it.

By learning I mean how people are using Bitcoin, site fees, etc.. It helps me get an idea of what rates people are charging for services, products and so on.

18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Splitting BitCoin in Currency on: July 01, 2012, 01:33:42 AM
Thanks for the links and info.

Writing Bitcoin with a "C", don't know why I did that . Just seemed like the right thing to do when I was writing.

That's why there's the Newbies section, so people like me can ask dumb questions and make mistakes  Wink Then have others correct us, well me in this case.
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Splitting BitCoin in Currency on: June 30, 2012, 07:39:34 PM
I've been reading a lot and notice everyone that is using BitCoin is for the most part is in development ie. knows programing etc.

In a few post people are talking about getting the average person to start using BitCoin. Which I would place myslef in that catergoy, I'm not a tech person, I know nothing about programing BitCoin or other programs.

I think I found something that needs to be done for the average person to start using BitCoin.

You can find out how much One (1) BitCoin is to your currencey. Example: One (1) BitCoin = $6.50 USD.

I might have missed it or haven't found it yet. Is there a site or something people can use to split the BitCoin in to dollars and cents or their currency.

As I stated, it's easy to find the value of one (1) BitCoin = $6.50 USD or what ever.

But people will want to split the BitCoin into the Dollar, Pound or what ever into their currency is.

For example:
The average person is going to ask. I have a product that sells for $4.95 or $29.99 What is it in BitCoin's?

So my question is, Anyone have a site that can split the BitCoin for people (Maybe I didn't I find it yet)

Make it easy for people to get the answer and they may use BitCoin's on their site(s).
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When will the price of BTC in USD exceed 12 USD? on: June 30, 2012, 05:04:47 PM
Well being new to BitCoin, I don't think anyone can answer that question. It's like everything else on the market the price will go up and down. You, me and everyone else needs to decide to hold or sell and at which point do you sell? When you can make a $2 USD, $5 USD etc. profit. Myself I can see BitCoin's value going up over time. As long as nothing drastic happens. I was reading BitCoin was around $15 USD at one point and now it's about $6.50 or so. Will it get it's $15 value back? I don't think anyone knows that answer.

If your holding BitCoin's, you need to set a profit margin you are happy with and sell at that point in time.

I've had stocks in the past and now I am kicking myself for selling them. I made money, but I would have made a lot more if I didn't sell them at the price I did. You just don't know what's going to happen.
