Thanks, Jim. I've upgraded to 0.4.13, thanks for letting me know it's out there.
Well, I think I've figured out what's going on...to give you a bit more history, I installed MultiBit after being dissatisfied with StrongCoin, the online hybrid ewallet service. I imported my private key from there to your program, and used the "reset blockchain" function to "move" my coins over. (I had a discussion in another thread on this forum regarding that problem.) StrongCoin has been coming up with a certificate expired issue the past several days (and there's yet another thread on this forum regarding THAT) and the bottom line is, I think they've been compromised and the issue is that my transaction looks like a "double send" to the chain. The reason I think this is because I (fortunately) used a different wallet to import that key, and that's the one I tried to send coins from that created the issue I asked you about. When I sent coins from my "primary" wallet, they went just fine.
So much for StrongCoin being the "Safest EWallet on the Planet" ...

If you use Opera, you can still get to the StrongCoin site, and decrypt your keys. HOWEVER - I have reason to believe they've been compromised, because I just recently installed MultiBit, and imported my key from StrongCoin and reset the block chain to "move" my coins over. But when I tried to send coins from that address, the transaction didn't get picked up in a block chain after being seen by one peer, which makes me think it appears as a "double send." I (fortunately) used a secondary wallet for what I had in StrongCoin, so I sent coins from my "primary" wallet to confirm it wasn't some other issue, and those went just fine.

Hi, Jim, I tried searching this thread to see if anyone has run into the same problem as me and you answered already, but I wasn't able to find anything. If you've answered a similar question before, I apologize. I just recently installed MultiBit, and I tried to send coins for the first time two days ago. The wallet has the available coins, and according to the transactions log, they were sent (and deducted from my balance), but the transaction has been stuck at "This transaction is not yet confirmed, seen by 1 peer" ever since. It hasn't yet gone into a chain. I've tried looking for it in the logs to see if I could debug the issue myself, but I don't see it in them. I'm on version 0.4.12 and using Ubuntu 12.04 if you need to know that. I'd appreciate any help you can give. Thanks!

I just discovered MultiBit has a "reset block chain and transactions" option...perhaps that'll take care of things. I just started it, so I'll see.

Stephen, I use StrongCoin, and so yes, I was able to get my private key from them. The key is encrypted on their server, and so to obtain it they have a "decode" function that unencrypts it in my browser. I'm then able to copy and paste.
I didn't use pywallet to import the key because the client I'm using (MultiBit) has its own import functionality. I was able to paste the key into a file which I imported into MultiBit.
Based on that, the command line option apparently won't work (I just tried it) because that apparently must use the bitcoin daemon, which is not used by MultiBit.
Did that help?

Thanks, deepceleron. I'll try that tonight when I get home and see how it goes.

This may be a strange question, so I'll explain my issue first: I have an online wallet, but I have run into issues using them, especially the fact I now can't seem to send any coins from it. It (supposedly) generates a block chain, but my balance does not get debited, and the receiver never gets the coins. (It receives just fine.) I've tried it in different browsers and on different machines, so I'm feeling confident the problem isn't me. That, along with the fact they periodcally have security certificate issues, has made me decide to install my own wallet on my computer. The thing is - I want to get my coins from the online wallet, but as just explained, I can't just send them to the new address, so I decoded the private key used by the online wallet and imported it into a new wallet in my software. I assumed the coins associated with that key would make their way through the chain and show up in my software's wallet, but apparently I am mistaken (at least, they haven't done so within 18 hours or so).
Can someone explain how this works? It's my understanding that if you have the private key, you can send whatever bitcoins are associated with it. Even if the wallet I imported them into shows a balance of zero, can I still try to send the amount that should be there? Do I need to give it more time to "see" the coins in the wallet first?
Thanks!

Hi, all,
I'm not new to bitcoins, but I am new to this forum. I actually found my way here vis a vis facebook from a post from bitlizard needing help with an MS Access issue. I wanted to reply directly to that post, but apparently I'm restricted from that because I'm a "noob". Anyway, for bitlizard: I'm pretty good at access, so what help do you need? And did you already have a payment in mind?
