I have a personality disorder, sometimes I speak English, and sometimes Spanish. Other times I morph into a platypus, and some days I just float around in the air. Yesterday I was a water bottle
...and the day before you kick an up-and-coming alpaca to the curb. You should be ashamed of yourself. ~Bruno~

In 8 years when we meet up for our 2nd annual private jet race, we will think back on how it all started and laugh... laugh maniacally
If I recall correctly, you used to have a different avatar.

I had the most beautiful OP written for this thread, but possibly thanks to theymos turning the knobs behind the curtain, the forum went down taking along with it an hour's worth of work. Seriously, the forum was down for I don't know how long, for after experiencing the glitch, I went to AGT and watched Monday's show. Let's see if I can get the OP penned now.

Migrating relative information from the other two threads to here.
Stay tuned!

EDIT: While conducting a little research, I'm finding that some aspects of what I have in mind are similar to Matthew's old UABB. I'm a tad tire now and need to give this some more thought.

Facepalm at line two ... ignore, Your post has zero content. Reading the quote as you edited it, Transisto, makes me think of one of Atlas' video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYuBm8C2Dog

Hey, I did that for fun, just grabbing the idea you posted. Wasn't even thinking you would use it For some reason, I love it, psy. Especially now that there's a subliminal B incorporated in it. ~Bruno~

At the onset, the process could easily be accomplished manually, but as time passes, I envision that taking way too much effort. That said, I'm open to suggestions.
My answer to most things like this is: Decentralize. My suggestion: Each member can promote any other member to his or her own level, but no higher. Decentralize eh? Seems a good match for bitcoin. How about a new blockchain/"coin" whose sole P2P purpose is to keep track of members? Hmm. I didn't think that through though... the nature of it seems to allow anyone with the software to... invite themselves... Replying to both posters above at same time. Interesting concept! This may be exactly what I'm looking for. Is there a way to build a hierarchychain, one that not only keeps tracks of members, but ranks them accordingly as well? Speaking of the ranking aspect, I first only thought of this as a novelty aspect for the members, but I now believe that ranked members should have more privileges than lower ranked members. What those should consist of is open for discussion. I'm now in a quagmire. I have two threads going, and the content in both is important and needs to be merged so that there's only one central local to discuss the development of Freecoiner. I've previously stated that I won't start a thread in Discussion until the site is up and running. That only leaves the Newbie thread, this thread, or start another one in Project Development, locking the former two. When I started the current threads, they were both justified, but not anymore. Suggestions, please! ~Bruno~

That is totally awesome! I have enough shit in my warehouses to build something like that, using old barn wood as the body. Sadly, I'm going to forego the steampunk design element for the logo for the time being in lieu of what psy has so kindly provided, but I have kept a copy of that image in a folder. What is freecoiner again?
So much pressure! I now have to briefly describe what Freecoiner is all about. Freecoiner is an exclusive, membership-based organization consisting of noblemen and hierarchs, where one becomes a member via an invite only. Members will enjoy a myriad of benefits, one which is the ability to purchase products and services with Bitcoin, receiving no less than a 10% discount provided, of course, the proprietors are members of Freecoiner. All members will also be able to be the first to test, purchase, experience, etc., any new product or service that can be purchased with Bitcoin. (I reserve the option of editing the above, for I'm making this shit up as I go along.)~Bruno~ ooh! Well, seeing as I write for Bitcoin Magazine now and may well be writing for your exclusive magazine, I think I should have free membership I see I may have to forego the formal invite aspect during the development stage, letting it become a staple when Freecoiner is officially up and running. ~Bruno~

^Promised me a hooker, but spent entire disposable income to purchase bitcoins.

Anyone feel like officially inviting me?
Consider yourself invited, mokahless. For anybody else still in queue for an invite, please don't fret it or become disappointed. There's plenty of time before Freecoiner comes online. ~Bruno~ Cool thanks. Do you have ideas on how you plan to keep track of members yet? Yes! I have this alpaca which has a memory like an elephant. Seriously, I have a rudimentary plan in mind. Keeping track of members won't be as difficult as to having them automatically receive ranking. At the onset, the process could easily be accomplished manually, but as time passes, I envision that taking way too much effort. That said, I'm open to suggestions. ~Bruno~

The liver of polar bear contains lethal amounts of vitamin A.
Are you suggesting an alternative to foie gras for the California market?

I have thought about this question for a long time, is bitcoin actually viable. It began as a curiosity, I was wondering how could a currency be totally peer to peer, totally trust-less, and after discovering Bitcoin I couldn't possibly see how it worked. I think looked and realized it wasn't actually a currency, it was more of a commodity, However, the problems with bitcoin are immense. The main problem I see with bitcoin is reliability and trust. The community is fragmented, or non-existent while still trying to persuade itself that it still exists. The majority of people keeping the price where it is, are essentially in it to profit in either the short-medium term and I expect that they have little care for ensuring the market is stable, or that bitcoin grows. The software is difficult to use, and seems to be designed by the kind of people who dont understand the typical financial types that will use bitcoin on a regular basis. Copying and pasting bitcoin public keys all day, is not going to work with anyone, the software needs to be designed to be user-friendly and perhaps even integrated with spreadsheet or accounting software. Also, the project, community and general Eco-system is not organized or managed very well at all. I dont expect bitcoin to even survive 6 months, at least not if you expect the coins to be worth anything or to be traded in any substantial amounts. That is my analysis over the years that I have been involved with the project, and I am sorry to say, many of you are probably wasting your time. I hope things do go well, I am just not optimistic.
Can somebody please tell me how the author of the below now spews the above? I am interested in possibly acquiring a bitcoin loan of about 1000 BTC. I would pay back monthly with bitcoins. I am a trusted member of the community, and am active on the forums and IRC. Would anyone offer me the loan, at how much interest and with what conditions attached?
He sure the hell was optimistic when he wanted to borrow some bitcoins. ~Bruno~ No no no, that was the guy who hacked his account! The OP would never, ever scam anyone! He is just interested in a real, honest, non-biased discussion on why BITCOIN IS DOOOOOOOOMED! I never got pass the OP before I posted the above. I see now from the second post that everyone was on top of this. Not sure what you're in reference to, but I believe the answer lies somewhere else in this thread. ~Bruno~

Forgot about something. If you need hosting for the website, just ask.
Thanks, psy. I do know the back end of Hostgator rather well, coupled with Wordpress. But I may have to explore another option due to the nature of how I'm formulating Freecoiner in my mind. Thanks, again, for the artwork. I do love how it came out. ~Bruno~

I see your point. If it hadnīt turned round but focused on its target, it might have escaped. Just to let everybody know, you're not dealing with a half-brain alpaca here. ~Al the Alpaca~ Isnīt it rather the wool than the brain that gives worth to an alpaca? Would you don clothing made from this?
