I apologize for the sob story in attempts to get money. truth is im a slightly manipulative 17 year old who is dabbling in BTC. I deserve the smashing... yes. I will leave this post up so everyone knows i was lieing... but please take the personal pics and stuff down. i deserve it, but my family and girlfriend doesnt deserve the chance of a creeper.... so if you dont remove it... i understand... but please accept my apology and remove them.

In hindsight, I no longer see this bet as being funny and I think it was in horrible taste. The community members who were my friends who are standing up against this are right in doing so I and I have no place in the bitcoin community as I clearly don't take it as seriously as everyone else. I am happy to have learned so much from Bitcoin and I'm glad to have shared in many experiences as well, but I cannot discount the claims that I have some issues with manicism as there is no other explanation for my often irrational behavior. I'll be seriously looking at my life and exiting from the community with my sincerest apologies.
Mihai Alisie will be speaking for the Bitcoin Magazine at the London conference. I am in the process of exiting the company completely equity and all in addition to already having resigned as a director and Editor in Chief, as it seems the right thing to do for the future of the magazine.
Ellet's IP is being handed over to a more capable party and I will be exiting any involvement with it.
DCAO is being dismembered and the existing heads will start another organization a bit more seriously toned.
I will not be involved in any businesses in this community any longer. It is clear my immaturity is hurting the community more than I am helping it, and the position I have been in has only resulted in hurting myself and those around me. I'm glad to see that many people did get my joke, but I ask that they not defend me as even I see now that it was crossing all sorts of lines that should never have been crossed and I have absolutely no excuse for it.
I'm sorry I let so many people down that I never even realized actually cared and I hope I can somehow serve as an example of what not to do so that all of this was not a complete waste.
I will now leave how I came.

I'm sure that will impress the piss out of the SEC when considering your issue with a pretend bet with a pretend currency with a pretend identity on the internet for an anonymous event that happened exactly as it was described by someone who is probably in Korea.
They are probably scrambling the SEC/Interwebz Anti-Fraud Squad Black Helicopter Fleet right now to go and catch this evil genius, and have him brought before the International Court of Interwebz Justice in Den Hauge.

There's an amazing amount of butthurt in this thread over a guy who did what he said he'd do according to the letter of his posts. And now you guys are starting a witch hunt over him when he's not stolen anything from anyone unlike the several exchange "hacks" and investment scams?
Hell yeah, if governments ran on Bitcoin, MNW would definitely be in power because you guys are suckers.
How so? No money changed hands as a result of MNW's bet, (other than the example 20BTC) so technically he hasn't stolen anything from anyone... UNLIKE the multiple ponzi schemes and fake exchange hacks. If MNW didn't actually take anyone's BTC up front, how did he "dump his Pirate's debt"?

I agree with this. As long as scamming isn't involved, if people want to be anon when they give their opinions so they are not linked to their business or dealings they have on the forum or in the community in general, let them. All voices should be heard no matter how unpopular those opinions may be. So you're saying admins should be tasked with determining what is a scam and what isn't? That's a nice idea. Maybe they should be in charge of all the coins too so they can return them when you get scammed. So you're saying admins should be tasked with determining who is a sockpuppet and who isn't?
