1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MTGox has taken over a month.Has anyone used BTC-E lately? Other methods? on: August 09, 2013, 08:31:00 PM
Thanks for all of the info. I had a successful transaction with Coinbase, already! What I need to know now, is how do I get my Bitcoins from MtGox to Coinbase. I can't find a button with that option. I have a Bitcoin address at Coinbase, and was looking to do it that way. Thanks!
2  Economy / Exchanges / MTGox has taken over a month.Has anyone used BTC-E lately? Other methods? on: August 07, 2013, 06:22:31 PM
Hi there!
MTGox has taken over a month to wire a bank transfer, and I still don't have the money in the bank yet. I am aware of all of the trouble, the freeze and the backlog, but this seems excessive, as far as the amount of time the transfer is taking. I am kind of wondering if I'll ever see the money. When they used OKPAY, things went smoothly. Is there a faster, reliable way to get USD for BTC? Is BTC-E still running well, and are they faster?
Thanks in advance!

Yeah, me too. I'm sure that they will fix it soon, though.
@ Charlie- If you have a moment, would you mind shooting out a message when the issue is resolved and the BTC gets transferred? Thank you so very much & I really appreciate your assistaNCE.

These guys are usually great! And they did reply quickly today, but I put in an order amounting to about 13 BTC today, and it has taken hours. When I asked the cust. support people what is going on, they said "Hey,

We're having a small glitch with the MtGox API.

All funds are 100% safe and the orders will be processed ASAP. "  Again, they have been great before. They usually do the transfer within an hour. Should I be concerned? What the heck does that mean? Are we talking about hours? Days? Are they in trouble? They have been so nice, thatI'd really like to keep working with them. Has anyone else encountered this?

Thanks!
One more question: Can I take the address to which I had bitcoin sent to an other wallet, if I should download a different one? Thanks!
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Holy Fark! My Blocks are taking 2+ days to sync / download to network. Normal? on: July 16, 2012, 03:53:53 AM
Oh my gosh! I started with the whole bitcoin wallet thing 2 days ago. It has taken nearly 48 hours for the blocks to sync with the network. I purchased my first bitcoins in the meantime, but won't know if they got to my chosen address until the blocks finish loading? Is that how it goes? Does it normally take this long? I do have a high speed connection. What gives? Thanks in advance! Smiley

Hi!
I am Boogerbrain. I am not a teenage boy, as my username might suggest, but rather, I am a chick, and I am twice as old as many teenagers.
I am brand new to Bitcoin and all sites which might accept it. I have been burned, of course, once, by using W. Union, and am learning about Bitcoin in hopes to use a more secure way to send and receive. It really took a lot of research to get here- for me, at least, as I suppose I just never knew where to look.
Glad to be here, and hello to all!
