1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining software for ARRR or ZCASH using AMD GPU RX 560 on: May 18, 2021, 08:49:30 PM
Hi all!

I'd like to mine some hours per day and I'm thinking of mining ARRR or ZCASH (or possibly Monero) as I'd like to mine privacy oriented alt coins where ASICs power cannot be applied.
My system is a AMD Ryzen 1600AF (6c/12t) with an AMD gpu RX 560.
I'm using Linux and would prefer this system, althouth I could use Windows.

I've looked at lolminer, but doesn't seem to have the possibility to mine ARRR or ZCASH.
I can't compile sgminer.

What can I use to mine?

Maybe I didn't understand correctly, but Luxor pool can change mining to the most profitable coin.
What do you advise me to do in case there's other more profitable choices?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ETC or ETH on my wallet? on: July 05, 2017, 04:08:51 PM
I bought some Ethereum at the time of lauch in exchange for some BTC.
Never cared about it, as it's really not much, but now I remembered the buy and imported the wallet to ethereum software.

My wallet shows
Main account (Etherbase)
x quantity  ETHER

I suspect it should be ETC, but it'd be great to be ETH as the price is much higher.

Is this ETC or ETH?  How to know?
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / iptables for bfgminer and eligius on: February 13, 2014, 07:36:12 PM
I've set an INPUT policy of DROP and have written these rules:

# for bitcoin-qt
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 8333 -m state --state ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT

# for bfgminer
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 3334 -m state --state ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT

The bitcoin-qt client connects fine to the network but bfgminer is not able to connect to pool.
With a rule such as
iptables -A INPUT -m state --state ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
bfgminer connects without problems.

So, as I'd like to be as restrictive as possible, what rule should I use for bfgminer?

Hi,

I need some clarification, please.

Suppose someone steals my wallet.  What happens?
Is my file gone?
My file is not gone, but someone just copied it, set it up in his computer and transferred the coins  to one of his addresses?
How to I know that I was stolen?  When I try to send my coins to someone? At the next time I run the bitcoin client?

I'm libertas.

Heard and read about bitcoin several months ago, but only now I'm getting interested in mining.
