1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What sites sell stuff using Bitcoins? on: October 28, 2012, 08:58:53 PM
I luz me some bitmit. Going to check out bitpantry now.

Edit: For all you sites using opencart- There's no reason for you not to be accepting bitcoins with Walletbit. Just sayin....

In fact, we are using WalletBit!  ;-)

You should definitely provide some more satisfying meals instead of just snacks and treats.

I'm not sure how easily we'd be able to do that, given the factor of how perishable and/or mail friendly such things would be.  Do you have any specific suggestions or requests that I can start experimenting with?

The s'mores bars turned out to not really be my thing. The cinnascotch cookies, on the other hand, are almost supernaturally tasty.

I'm really sorry about the delay on your order, we were having some technical glitches with the site (and still are with our BitPay plugin), but I'm very glad that your items were received and that you were mostly pleased!

I would love jerky. I saw bitpantry's jerky and it looked black as soot.

As long as it tastes great, I don't mind supporting your father. I also love smoked salmon, I have been eating that stuff since I was a kid.

Both your products sound interesting to me, but will you ship to canada?

I think this is a great idea, also!  Just for the record, the jerky on BitPantry has a dark colour due to the marinade I make and use for it, as well as the fact that I'm a horrible photographer and have a cruddy camera!
6  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does satoshidice.com own satoshidice.net? Or have I just been scammed? on: September 02, 2012, 05:31:17 AM
bitpantry.com was probably doing the same thing to btcpantry.com as satoshidice.net was doing to satoshidice.com, so I think it could easily be the same person/people. In any case, both of the sites are down now.

Hi, I'd just like to point out that the reason bitpantry.com has been down and the registrar information seems strange can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=100544.0

Additionally, the woman (singular, not plural) running it did in fact grow up in Oklahoma, but has an affection for spelling words like 'flavor' and 'color' as 'flavour' and 'colour' just because it appeals to her (that would be me).  The Ryan mentioned above is not in, and never has been in Melbourne, he is my husband, runs www.quickbitcoins.net, and we're both in the U.S.  Hope that clears up some of the confusion here.

I forgot to edit it so that it reflects the new one, sorry!  I'll do so now!
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Name ideas for my new business on: August 16, 2012, 02:33:26 AM
We paid .5 btc to Fatigue for it but we have had a lot more than that in lost revenue because of all this.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Name ideas for my new business on: August 16, 2012, 02:23:25 AM
We did.  All the info was reverted back by the domain registrar when they discovered it was originally registered fraudulently.  We had control of the site for exactly 40 days.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Name ideas for my new business on: August 16, 2012, 02:13:22 AM
We're still going to try to get it back.  It's just frustrating because there was zero reason for any of it to happen in the first place.  Fatigue *could* have just been a decent human being and said up front that he had done this and given us a chance to fix/change it before all this happened.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Name ideas for my new business on: August 16, 2012, 01:56:10 AM
Haha, he used a fake name.  Unless of course, Fatigue really *is* Jackie Chan.  They've told us the domain is not for sale, at least not at this point.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Name ideas for my new business on: August 16, 2012, 01:42:39 AM
Fatigue never contacted them in the first place, as far as I can tell.  He obtained the domain originally (for the purpose of selling it immediately to me) through a Google small business promotion for free.  Even though he got it for free, he apparently used false/bad credit card information and didn't bother to tell me when he sold it to me literally the next day.  So, I apologize if it seems a bit harsh, but I just don't see how any of it could be 'accidental'.
13  Economy / Goods / Re: New food for BTC site! on: August 16, 2012, 01:35:43 AM
Nothing is wrong with the site.  We purchased the original domain name from someone else, and the info they used to register it was fraudulent so the domain registrar shut it down and won't let us pay for it or change it to our names.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Name ideas for my new business on: August 16, 2012, 01:34:04 AM
We did update the owner information.  The domain registrar reverted the information to the original owner and refuses to allow us to pay for it or switch it back over into our names because the original owners information was fraudulent.  Basically it seems like they've just locked it down and there's not much we can do about it.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Name ideas for my new business on: August 16, 2012, 01:05:21 AM
i also use false information for everything i do online. i doubt he knew of the complications that would cause when transferring ownership. why not be mad at the domain provider? they seem to be the ones who isnt allowing you to take control of the domain. i understand your frustration but telling everybody to beware of him isnt fair. he did refund you.

Do you use false information including false payment information.  The domain was free to begin with but required him to input credit card information for when it began billing, and according to them it was invalid/false information, which is why months down the road this is happening.  Oh, and the cute little fact that when he sold it to us he never bothered to mention that.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Name ideas for my new business on: August 16, 2012, 12:04:26 AM
Wow.  He suggested it and bought it out from underneath you.

Almost as ugly as the paypal/bitcoin situation.

i dont see a problem with this. he thought of the business name. he registered the domain. people register domains to sell all the time. its called capitalism.

The problem is this:  it would have been irksome, but otherwise no big deal if reg'ing it out from under me was ALL he did.  The very fact that he did so with blatantly false information, which has caused all the trouble now, is what is the problem.
17  Economy / Goods / Re: New food for BTC site! on: August 15, 2012, 11:36:05 PM
The meat used for the beef jerky is market (we hope to upgrade to buying from a real butcher later on) roast, sliced semi-thin to be marinated and dehydrated into jerky.

The bacon is also from the market, hardwood smoked and thick cut bacon.

The chocolate cookies (and this description comes straight from one of our customers) are very soft and moist, almost cake-like in texture.

Thanks for the questions!
18  Economy / Goods / Re: New food for BTC site! on: August 15, 2012, 04:11:48 PM
I'm going to leave it as is, because people are familiar with it already, and we are most likely at some point going to move it to another bitpantry (like .net, etc).  Thanks though!
19  Economy / Goods / Re: New food for BTC site! on: August 15, 2012, 03:49:30 PM
Just thought we'd let you all know, because of the domain registrar issues we had, we've had to move the site to www.btcpantry.com .

Yes, and it doesn't look promising for trying to get it back.  So during the interim, the entire site is down, till we move it to an alternate domain.  Yay.
