I have an account set up with a pool and i was wondering if i need to mine with the built in miner that the wallet uses or should i run CGminer?
Also i enter in the required info into the built-in miner and i keep getting a message saying that the miner failed to start. It says to "make sure the minerd executable and libraries in the same folder as AnonCoin-Qt."
any help would be greatly appreciated

http://litecoin.org -- was that really so hard? You couldn't search for the term "Litecoin" on a search engine? Don't use a shitty GUI miner frontend, it'll cause more issues than anything. Download cgminer. funny thing is i did search for everything i could think of for LTC on google...but it only pulled up BTC based websites/programs

|
|
ok i got the miner...now what about LTC wallets? is there a wallet like BTC client where i can make a backup on a flash drive?
|
|
|
I'm only making about .05BTC/day with my rig...I just figured that i could make more with Litecoin and hope for the rise. I already have enough BTC so im just trying to branch out.

I've been doing BTC mining for some time now. I was wondering if someone could tell me if there's a GUI miner for Lite coin? and if any mining pools exist for litecoin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did the 1074 and 6008 codes and they only show when i shut down the computer and the 6008 isnt showing any unexpected restarts or shutdowns

ok my CPU temps are only around 19-21C and my GPU temps are in the low 80's....i know its not the temps of that are causing the computer to restart
|
|
|
Check CPU temps then, and while you're at it GPU temps and any other sensors you can find. AIDA64 Extreme Edition is good for this. Watch the temps while you're mining. The only thing that should be causing the computer to shutdown or restart on its own are heat and power issues... or if you've installed Windows updates and weren't paying attention.
I've been running MSI afterburn with the fans at 75% and the temps are only like 75 to low 80's...so i know its not the gpu temps causing it

im running a 1200w PSU and im not OC the cards...I did recently add a CPU water cooler from Corsair...and it only seems to happen when i have the BTC client running.
Do you think i should save the wallet.dat and reinstall the client?

Wow. What computer? CPU? Motherboard? Memory? What mining software? What hardware? GPU? ASIC? FPGA? Jeesh, give us a clue... Sorry...Im running CPU: AMD fX-8120 GPU: two 6990 MB ASUS m5a97 r2.0 i had the miner running all night and the computer didnt restart...it only seems to restart when im running the Client and Miner at the same time.

IM running Win7 and im only running GUI and BTC client but every now and then the computer just restarts. I've increased the fan speed encase if the cores were getting to hot....would someone have an idea why this is happening?

I was wondering if there was a way to calculate the Hash rate of a given card or chip based on the specs like Wattage, MHz, etc..
Is there a formula for it or is the hash rate solely determined by the architecture of the chip/card core?
I was also wondering what the current specs are for an individual Asic chip. (looked every where and couldnt find a spec sheet)

I've been looking at companies that offer ASIC miners. Just trying to find out which companies are legit and about how long would it take to receive the unit.
I've looked at Butterfly Labs but i've heard that they are a scam and that people have yet to receive their unit even after a year.
Avalon i know does batched orders so they are difficult to get a hold of and only accept BTC.
Anything would be a big help

For GPU mining a quad 7970 setup gives you 2.6 GH/s. Right now im running dual 6990's and getting 1.2gh/s. both of these GPU setups will cost about $1600 just for the GPU's the 6990's you can run on lower grade MB's and CPU but they cant touch the Quad 7970's the quad 7970 so far what i have found require a $260cpu and $260+ MB but the MB would be running a x16,x8,x8,x8 on the four PCIe 3.0
If you want to water cool the quad 7970's the whole rig will cost about $3200 the dual 6990's just stock cooling cost about $2300-2500 and you could water cool that rig and get up to 1.7GH/s but that would cost about $2900-3000 all depending on the parts you want.
My 6990 setup is: AMD FX-8120 Asus M5A97 r2.0 Gigabyte ATI 6990 (x2) Wifi card 128GB SSD Coolermaster 1200w 80gold Diskdrive (for driver CD's) Corsair 600T I also added 4 high pressure fins on the side panel
|
|
|
I've already built a rig that has two 6990's but its very loud and hot..I've been looking into water cooling the rig...i have all the parts besides the fittings....i was wondering if compression fittings are better than clamps and vice versa?
Because the last thing i want is a leak onto the cards.

Im not new to BTC but im just trying to figure out what LitCoin is and how its different than BTC. I know that the LTC miners run on RAM and not GPU's but is the miner setup the same?
