Very interesting concept. Have you looked into arbitrage opportunities and creating a security for that? If you can move quickly, especially between exchanges, grabbing 1%+ seems possible on a somewhat regular basis since this is a fairly slow moving market (compared to, say, NYSE, where there's thousands of AIs looking for arbitrage opportunities all the time and milliseconds make or break them)?

(In all seriousness, just getting into mining, probably looking into arbitrage opportunities.)

Analysts should also have financial investigatory/forensic accounting experience in non-traditional arenas including drug money laundering, Sharia-compliant banking, terrorist finance, informal and formal money transfer mechanisms (hawala), trade based value transfers, and parallel reconstruction. Knowledge of emerging alternative and mobile payment methods is also desired (Bitcoin, Secondlife, etc).

Is LM looking to find those familiar with Bitcoin to start using it to move money internationally and do things off the radar? Will over organizations seek to do the same? Will the use of Bitcoin by larger organizations give more legitimacy to Bitcoin and result in a more liquid market?

I'd like to be considered as well. You know, 'cause free money.

9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Simplest way to stash bitcoin? on: September 07, 2012, 04:50:48 AM
Easiest way to buy the coins or to stash them?

As for the first, I'd suggest taking a look at this page[1]

Set up a wallet using Electrum[2] (hopefully if you're on a Mac, you're on Lion, otherwise it'd be a bit difficult), burn the (encrypted) wallet file, and voilą! Smiley

Be careful, the lots of optical media aren't really too archival. I'd got with dead tree like the others recommend.

I'm in for a Jalapeno, it's money I can afford to lose and if it pays for itself quickly, great!
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anonymously send bitcoins on: September 07, 2012, 04:35:59 AM
Wouldn't a simpler thing to do be creating a new BTC wallet (in addition to your normal wallet) funding it with many of the "buy BTC with cash in the mail" options (or localbitcoins.com), using it for that one transaction and then never using it again? It would be like the one time credit card numbers that PayPal and some banks let (used to let?) people use when shopping so they wouldn't have to enter the credit card number they had in their wallet they used every day.

I ran into the same 30 day wait as you. I'm at day 25 and then I'll be able to move money around freely. Hoping I can nab some arbitrage opportunities since it's a small, slow market.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you generate your Bitcoins? on: September 07, 2012, 04:09:34 AM
I looked into mining, but I've got a rather weak CPU and mere integrated video on my headless Linux box, so that's out. My MacBook is less than ideal too. So I'm looking into ASIC, specifically, Butterfly Lab's BitForce Jalapeno. Sadly, I pay for my electricity Sad
