1  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 2x BFL SC for sale [Australia] on: September 25, 2013, 12:04:40 PM
ok, then $1000 each.
It's a realistic break even price estimation on them now, since TH/s miners are about to come out.

Hmm nowhere near enough to cover my costs.

Seems to be more demand on ebay so I will post on ebay and see how I go.
2  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 2x BFL SC for sale [Australia] on: September 24, 2013, 01:56:51 PM
Hi,

I can offer you 10 BTC each.
I'm going to Sydney on Sunday, so let me know if you decide to sell by then.

Cheers

Dont need BTC, prefer AUD - what would you offer in cash?
3  Economy / Computer hardware / 2x BFL SC for sale [Australia] on: September 24, 2013, 12:01:13 PM
2x BFL SC brand new in box, received today.

Dont have the time to bother mining anymore, so make an offer.

Only non reversible payment cash methods accepted - cash, direct deposit or RTGS transfer. Prefer cash on delivery (sydney) so we dont have to go through annoying escrow processes

4  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: YES, you can get a REFUND from BFL on: August 20, 2013, 07:07:20 AM
Could someone share a transaction ID (of paypal) of a refunded BFL-payment outside the 45 days, so other scammed forum members can relate to that and make paypal refund their orders, too ?
If they refund one, they should have to refund all. But they will try from case to case not to.
So we would have a  precedence for paypal ("But there you refunded, too").
Cheers
Here you go: Transaction ID#5RD94261LH009261E

Thx Mate !

Didnt work for me even referring to that txn. Theyre claiming
- its been left too long and
- that its illegal for them to try and claw back funds from the vendor
- that they cant claw back funds for the vendor (for unmentioned reasons)

Going to have to try the chargeback route.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Freicoin: demurrage crypto-currency from the Occupy movement (crowdfund) on: April 12, 2013, 11:55:40 AM
I think the problem with freicoin is it takes too much effort to explain to laymen. This means it wont be adopted easily.

Most people wont know what demurrage is

Most people dont like the idea of paying fees

The notion of demurrage discourages early adopters

Most people wont like trusting a "foundation" who gets a cut of everything (many organisations start out with good intentions)

Considering all of that, why not just go with the bitcoin model with a maximum number of blocks so high that would take millenia to reach the end point of. That way you would have your inflation component (printing of new coins) fixed, and wouldnt need to call it a fee or confuse laymen with terms like demurrage.
6  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What catalyst and sdk drivers are you using for 7970 (windows) on: April 12, 2013, 09:40:24 AM
Catalyst 13.3 Beta 3
OpenCL: 10.0.1124.2

7970
1000/300 (1.050v) ~ 601 MH/s
Max temp: 37°C

1010/300 (0.987v) ~ 608 MH/s
Max temp: 37°C

1050/300 (1.010v) ~ 635 MH/s
Max temp: 38°C

7950
1100/300 (1.024v) ~ 577 MH/s
Max temp: 38°C

How fast are you running your fans to keep the temp that low? What is the ambient temp?
7  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [CLOSED] MtRed (PPS, LP+, API, 0 FEE) STRATUM on mine.mtred.com:3333 on: April 11, 2013, 02:50:18 AM
Why not just make a change from now to implement a fee - once the fee covers the backlog you could pay that balance out, and the continue with a fee to build some buffer back in.

10  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptoxchange GIVE ME MY MONEY on: November 25, 2012, 02:21:18 AM
It is a waiting game right now, but the fact that they're upgrading the MrBitcoins site suggests that they intend to keep operating that business - something they would not be able to do if the company is insolvent.  There is no indication that they're planning to shut down MrBitcoins and the notice about upgrading the site is new - it's been posted since the announcement of the CryptoXchange shut-down.

I guess we all just wait and see what upgrades are made to the MrBitcoins site (this is supposed to be done by 26 November) and whether payments start being processed over the next couple of weeks.

How do you know that and who is "they"?

How do I know what?  Their upgrading of the Mr Bitcoins site implies that they intend to keep operating that business.  Otherwise, why not a shut-down notice on that website as well.  KenseyCol operates both CryptoXchange and MrBitcoins (as well as a few other businesses).  If they are insolvent, they can't legally continue operating any of them.  I'm not only in Australia, but I'm in the same state as the operators of CryptoXchange.  I spent over 30 years working in business administration - I'm well aware of the duty directors of Australian companies have under the  Corporations Act to prevent insolvent trading (s 588G) and the penalties for breaching that duty ( s 588G and s 1317G).  In addition to the statutory obligation to prevent insolvent trading (which allows for both civil and criminal penalties) a common law obligation also exists.

While there are circumstances under which a company in financial trouble can continue to trade, it requires the appointment of an administrator and companies which are under administration must disclose that fact and the administration must be reported to ASIC.  The ASIC register is showing no record of any type of insolvency (voluntary or otherwise) for KenseyCol.

In fact, KenseyCol registered yet another business in July this year.

https://connectonline.asic.gov.au/RegistrySearch/faces/landing/bySearchId.jspx?searchId=159519687&searchIdType=BUSN&_adf.ctrl-state=zl6yve47k_22

http://www.centralwestautos.com.au/

This business is actively trading - there are current ads for their cars on places like Trading Post.

Now you can certainly choose to believe that they're running around opening new businesses while insolvent if you like, but can you see why the assertions by WME that his lawyers cannot locate them are beyond ridiculous?

Anyone taken them to small claims court yet?
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptoxchange seems to be commiting fraud. on: November 25, 2012, 02:16:56 AM
I have worked with cryptoxchange before and made deposits/withdrawels fine with massive delay. However at this time i'm attempted to make some withdrawels on my account both on the 6/11/2012 and the 7/11/2012. I'm completly verified, with all my details correctly put into their system for a local bank transfer out.

Now my first issue is that they state that it takes 4-7 days to withdraw the money, it is currently the 15/11/2012 in australia and i have seen nor hide or hair of my money withdrawel. Second it seems they have changed my withdrawel booking dates on both of the withdrawels to the 11/12/2012, now this is commiting fraud.

I know a little about australian law, and these guys are registered with the australian securities in commerce, which means when they commit fraud they are liable to be reported to the australian finance ombudsman, and if a report comes through with evidence it means these guys will have to prove they are not solvent and immediatly pay out all debts owed. If not the ASIC will shut them down  they will go into liquidity, all assets sold and they will never be able to run a company in australia ever again while also if they have a directors agreement they may be liable for damages. Now i don't want to have to report them for posting policy in which they themselves do not abide by, and commit fraud against, Or for breach of contract but if i don't get my money i may have to.

Also i might add if there are any other australians who are having the same issue would like to discuss this and document/report evidence the company could be liable for a class action.

Edit: Let me clarify they are commiting fraud because they clearly state a policy of a transaction period of 4-7 days, first of all by not completing the transanction in the time period and second by changing withdrawel dates this is commiting fraud.

UPDATE: Still no word from customer support after 7 attempts to contact them, it has now been 2 weeks or 13 days since i made my withdrawel claim and still nothing. I think crypto x Change may have gone to scamming so i am now going to report them to both the police and financial Ombudsman.

Have you had any luck with them? I have $490 stuck in my account there.

12  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin Coffee Cup about 1.5 BTC us shipped. on: October 27, 2012, 04:26:06 AM
QR code scans to bitcoin.org.  $13.99 plus 99 cents US shipping payable in BTC.  We do ship international but this is one item that there just is no cheap way to send so we do not recommend international on this item.

Some Windows users have stated being able to underclock the memory by greater than 150 MHz below the core speed using MSI Afterburner. Is this simply an artifact of the software? That is, is the actual memory speed only 150 MHz below the core, but the software reads whatever the user sets it to?
I use MSI AB to lower the memory clock down to 375. This is confirmed in CGMiner, and in GPU-Z (on the sensors tab, which reads actual values). I also notice a temp and power drop when I do it. It does work.

It does also reduce power consumption measurably. I got about 15w/card going from 685->340mhz

It is also not very easy to enable. I havent been able to reliably replicate the process. I have done it on 2 machines and cant for the life of me get it to work on the 3rd. Not quite sure what is different, I even copied the exact MSI AB files (config and bins) across.

Thanks - keep in mind theyre valid for quite a while so no need to wait Wink

Just realised it will also be possible to deliver electronically in PDF as well which is probably easier for all involved.
17  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Aussie Movie tickets for BTC on: September 29, 2012, 02:33:29 AM
Testing the water to see if there is any interest

Event movie vouchers (regular) for 0.85 BTC including regular mail post inside australia. These will be printed on PAPER but are redeemable at event cinemas.

This represents about $10AUD which is cheaper than most tickets if you just walk into the cinema

There are some limitations:
- Cannot be used for any movie session after 5pm on saturdays
- Surchages apply for 3d, VMAX
- Cannot be used for gold class, europa, movie marathons, group bookings (although you can use several at once) or special screenings
- These tickets have an expiry date that is roughly 7-9 months from purchase

First person to order gets 2 for the price of one (valid for first unit only)
18  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: So what is the consensus on how many 7970's can run on one rig ? on: September 26, 2012, 09:00:16 AM
I just smoked a silverstone strider 1500w running 4 7970's, not overvolted, with a 2500k... Last ShitterStone product I'll buy.

Thats what I'm running :/

Though mine has shown no signs of problems at all

What were you running your 7970s at? What was the draw at the wall? ~950w?
19  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best way to move USD between exchanges? on: September 26, 2012, 06:22:22 AM
Noob assumption.

Crossing buy/sell spreads on two exchanges will easily cost more than 1%. More likely 2-5%. Then you also pay the extra exchange feeds and trade fees on top.

The gouging on exchanges makes me wonder why bother with bitcoin - PayPal is less profiteering than some exchanges
20  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: So what is the consensus on how many 7970's can run on one rig ? on: September 25, 2012, 01:34:51 PM
What build are you using with the 5 cards @100%?
- OS
- Driver version
- SDK
- CGMiner

I could only get them going at partial speed.
