I point my cpu power to middlecoin.com and let them choose the most profitable scrypt coin.

|
I messed up.
There was a new feathercoin release 5 days ago, and I hadn't updated. We've been mining the wrong fork of feathercoin for part of today.
Sorry guys.
Does this mean that the large immature balance we have on the website will not translate into profits? Just a thought...

I think Groupcoin uses BTC addressing, so bitaddress.org should work to get a signup address.
Can anyone else confirm that?

Good luck on the fork, a better difficulty adjust is definitely needed.
I never had problems connecting, but that could be because I was mining for the last several days ever since the big difficulty adjust started. I think I have a good chunk of the new blocks mined, I have about 90 DBL confirming now.

Yaargh, Difficulty be walking the plank in less than 24 hours!
|
|
|
Looking in the source code, it is 720 blocks: static const int64 nTargetTimespan = 0.5 * 24 * 60 * 60; static const int64 nTargetSpacing = 60; static const int64 nInterval = nTargetTimespan / nTargetSpacing; nInterval is number of blocks before difficulty retargets.
|
|
|
Looking over historical difficulty, it seems to be 720 blocks, not 12 hours.
Also, difficulty would not still be 1.13 since it has been that way about 24 hrs.
|
|
|
Sadly, because of the difficulty adjust to 1.13, it looks like we will take a few days until we readjust to a profitable level.
My estimate for the next block adjust is Saturday, based on the average block solve times at this difficulty.

Aye, the diff be pretty low at the moment, only .08, pretty good for solo mining!
Hadn't noticed. Thought it was 0.12 Been running with the pirate named Coinloot. When we go to easier waters I will hop on my Cpu and go pillaging solo. It looks to be running at .05 right now, I did pretty good today just solo CPU mining. 17 blocks from 2 cpus.

Devtome funding is paid as "shares" and every 1000 words of original content is a "share." I believe every month or two 180,000,000 DVC are divided among the community based on how many shares you have. Usually each share is worth ~$50 to $300 depending on the number of shares and the DVC price.

Theoretically there is no difference in expected returns when solo mining vs. pool mining. What changes is the variance. If it takes you a week to earn a block (on average), would you rather get partial payments every day, or the whole block at once?
I almost always join pools, but I am currently mining doubloons solo right now.

Thanks!

I didn't mean to offend, but if something is up causing 100% CPU load from that combination of clients, then the computer should be able to say *which* process is using the CPU power. Unless they all are reading ~25% each, which would be even stranger.
|
|
|
The plot thickens...
It seems that the problem only occurs when I am running:
Bitgem + Doubloons + JunkCoin + Powercoin.
If I close any one of these cpu usage drops to 2 - 7% but when I re-open it cpu usage immediately jumps back to 100% and stays there.
I can run:
Bitcoin + Litecoin + LQC + PPC + TRC + FRC + BQC + RUC + TBX + FBX + BTE + Chrome + QT-Creator + Bitvise SSH +MSE and I still don't reach 100%, but if I close ALL of those and run only Bitgem + Doubloons + JunkCoin + Powercoin I get 100% cpu usage instantaneously. Something is up with these clients.
If you are using windows, check the task manager and see which application is causing the problem. You may need to check the processes tab as well.

Same problem here, the p2pool looks like it may be on a weird fork. It's odd that 5 hours of mining would get forked into an orphan. Hopefully it corrects itself.

Oh, and AxJGGb5yi944jZWVTK3AdwJqETVCJ5XM4g; you better reign in or you going straight to Davy Jones locker.
Yarr, that be me. I just have 1 7970 pointed at the pool, not too much hash power, but enough to get decent returns.

By any means, it will be more profitable than it is now, and better able to respond to fluctuations in network traffic.

Now the link is fixed, but the display text still says WDC instead of DBL.
Thanks for all your work in this, btw.

|
|
Also, the link in Cell B1 points to the worldcoin exchange thread, not the DBL exchange thread.
