At this point, it's safe to say we've all been scammed.

Try flashing the bios to the standard edition. Let me know how it goes.

I have this exact card and same problem! Can't get it to break 600Khs.  Have you made any progress?

I too cannot withdraw.  I'm seeing the same error:  "Transaction failed(incorrect address?)".

Someone from notroll, please advise!

2 x 7970 1.4 GH

Nice rig, I am trying to water cool my miner, but 4 VGA water blocks are really pricey, still thinking  Sad

Are you using 2 * 240 rad in the loop?

Yes, the top rad is a thin Blackice GT (all I could fit up there) and the front is an XSPC RX240.  Cards run at about 60c.

8  Bitcoin / Mining / What is the simplest way to monitor a single mining rig? on: March 23, 2013, 08:02:11 AM
I am looking for an easy way to monitor my rig.  Basically something that will sound an alarm when the server goes down.  What are my options?  I'm looking for something lite and simple. Preferably monitoring software that doesn't require me to install anything on my miner.

Thanks in advance!

You have to add some DLL's into the Afterburner folder and make some changes to the .cfg files.

Here's a link that explains how:

http://www.overclock.net/a/getting-started-with-radeon-hd-7970-overclocking

I've been able to get #1 card up to 1250 and #2 up to 1300 using water cooling, over-volting and 3 radiators with dual pumps in push-pull.

This got me up to 700MHash/s and bumped me up to #15 on btcmine's top miners list, up from 45 (and climbing).

http://btcmine.com/toplist/

You can save a little juice by cranking the memory clock down as far as it will go. Memory clock isn't very important for mining since hashing doesn't require as much RAM transfer as gaming.

How to overclock: Bump up the clock a little at a time until it wigs out, then bump up the voltage until it's stable. Keep doing so until adjusting the clock and voltage higher no longer results in a stable rig. Then scale back to the last good configuration.

Watch your temps until they level off.

Thanks for the info; it will certainly come in handy!

I'm also building a water cooled rig. It should be complete in a few day.  Would you mind posting a pic of your rig?
10  Bitcoin / Mining support / When starting cgminer remotely, my overclock settings don't load. on: February 28, 2013, 01:47:45 AM
Strangest thing...I don't understand it! Hopefully one of you guys can help.

In short, I have cgminer running on BAMT and all is fine when I start cgminer from the physical machine.  However, when I remotely ssh into the machine and start cgminer, my overclock settings are not loading.  I am running the same exact command with the same user.  I am stumped and have no idea why this is happening. Any help is greatly appreciated!

For past 1125, you will need at least 1.175 or even 1.2V. When you send me the model I will see if I can send you the bios at 1.175 or 1.25V

The model is R7970-2PMD3GD5/OC.  Thank you!

That's actually part of the problem.  I cant set the voltage past 1.17.

I've been using AMDOverdrive to do the overclocking, but core speed wont exceed 1125Mhz and Voltage wont pass 1.17.

I have and all I find is how to do it in Windows.  I can't find anyway to do this in Linux.

I currently have one MSI Afterburner 7970 mining away in BAMT.  How can I overclock the core clock past 1125Mhz?
15  Other / Beginners & Help / What are the best Linux distros to use for mining? on: February 26, 2013, 12:28:23 AM
From what I found BAMT seems to be the best, but I'd still like to know what my options are.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Wouldn't BFL stand to make more money if they just used their ASICs themselves? on: February 25, 2013, 11:31:23 PM
It seems like controlling these machines under a single entity would yield more profits.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about ASIC mining on: February 25, 2013, 11:24:29 PM
Factor in the impending crash of the bubble.

What do you mean?

I think he means because so many people are mining, there will be more coins and thus less cost per coin. The explosion of miners will significantly decrease the value of the bitcoin. The bitcoin is growing in popularity though, so it could be more profitable so long as the demand continues to rise.
Tons of bullshit.

Are you trolling or what?

I think he's trolling!
18  Other / Beginners & Help / How do you overclock a 7970 past 1125Mhz in Linux? Is it possible? on: February 25, 2013, 11:23:20 PM
I'm currently running an MSI Afterburner 7970s in BAMT and can't crank the core clock past 1125Mhz.  Anyone know how to break this barrier?

I have a few mining hardware questions to post.

5 spam posts and 4 hours of idling will get you there.

Does it have to be 5 different threads or does this post count as 2?
