To start with your drivers.
You are damn right!

it seems to work now! I must have been blind!
Strange that it did not install this driver when i put the usb in?

I started on a macosx, then linux, and as a last resort on windows.
I'm going to try this on the other platforms since i just installed windows to test this.

What drivers are needed on linux or macosx?

Thanks Toptek for the advice!

earlier i asked about this miner and haven't been able to make it work.. time is passing without mining and having this thing in my hands.. Sad

for most simplicity, i'm testing using windows 7 home premium.
using BFG-Miner 5.4.1 (supported since 5.3 right?)
miner from bitshopper.de
i search cmd and right click to start with admin rights.
go to directory, and start bfg miner with:
bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 -O 1BURGERAXHH6Yi6LRybRJK7ybEm5m5HwTr --set compac:clock=0x0783
NO DEVICES FOUND. (press M + auto or all finds nothing)
in device manager i do see: Compac BM1384 USB Miner
Hardware ID = USB\VID_10C4&PID_EA60&REV_0100

Should this thing be like "plug and play" or do i need to install some drivers? I have also tried winusb zadig drivers but still no fun..

Starting to get desperate and i'm really thinking if i received some faulty thing..
it's been like 2 months since i received it, and everytime i have some spare time, it just won't work...
must have used up like at least 12 hours on this thing... grrrrrr...

Hope someone can see what's up.. and give me some clear instructions..

Hmm.. I think the problem lies in detecting the USB within cgminer..

 [2015-11-24 23:01:09.253] Started cgminer 4.9.2
 [2015-11-24 23:01:09.471] No devices detected!

I'm using the following to TEST:
cgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 -u 1BURGERAXHH6Yi6LRybRJK7ybEm5m5HwTr --compac-freq 150

The v pod is pointing towards the south (opposite of usb input) which should be equivalent to 0.55v right?

I've done hundreds of troubleshooting in linux, but this one is out of my range! xD

I'm plugging in the USB directly to my laptop. There is a green light constantly on but haven't seen the white led on at all.

What is the V-pod you were mentioning?

I am using cgminer 4.9.2 btw.

Hi guys,

I am having trouble using this USB miner,
I have used the installation instructions which is written on the second page with --enable-gekko where i used cgminer-gekko.tar.gz

Should the USB just be detected after this?
When i start cgminer i see "No USB detected" but, pressing U and then l in the menu, it says Bus 1 Device 10 ID: 10c4:ea60 bitshopperde Compac BM1384 Bitcoin Miner inactive

I have tried every combination of OS (windows/linux/osx) with every combination of cg-miner/bfg-miner but none of it works.
Totally out of clues!

Hope you guys can help me!

Thanks!

Hello Guys,

Recently I have just received the stick from you! Great packaging! and thanks alot!
Though, I have been trying to setup this miner. I thought it would be my problem of not knowing how to use cgminer with drivers?

I have tried the modified cgminer and normal cgminer from their main website in ubuntu, macosx, windows 7 vm and windows 8.
But all say the same  where it cannot detect any USB devices. (I can see the usb being detected in lsusb or device list in windows).

Can anyone give me instructions in how to use this usb miner?

I still want to say, great initiative MacEntyre!

Thank you!
